Got mine to replace my old Razer blade 14 from 2015 and I can say It it quit perfect for me - Beautiful 144hz screen - Simple prenium design - Good audio powered by Dolby - Good battery life to work outside ( ~5h ) - Powerful enough to run all my games at 120fps minimum - The temperature is about ~75 when I’m playing, it’s good compared to my old Razer with ~85 I think if you are looking for something powerful with a good battery life and portability, this is the right choice, it is worth the price.
We finally get a review for this! I've been waiting for a proper review since April! Thank you!! Can you please do an extensive battery test like you've done in the past?
Great video. Good device, but it's amazing to me that a $2500+ device can't stick a 1080P webcam with studio mics into it. I know it's a gaming laptop, but still, it deserves premium parts in a premium device.
Laptop manufacturers wont make the entire screen thicker to fit better sensors, and there cant be a camera bump either, and also, we should always keep in mind that a laptop that checks all boxes, will be priced far higher than the competition, and Razer already prices their laptops high
U can always save up a lil $ and put that down on it so then ur monthly payments wouldn't be bad. Next time i need a labtop (years from now) I may go that route. Sucks when u drop $1,500 on brand new labtop then watch reviews on what people who had $3,000 to spend ended up getting.
Unless you're doing very heavy work, the blade 17 is kind of overkill in terms of performance, and its also much bigger and heavier. I would say a blade 15 would be more than enough but i dont have any knowledge on what youplan to use your blade for
i have seen so many videos about the new razer blade 15 advanced modell to get more information cause i actually planning to get one and it will also will be my first razer product i ever own..really excited Every details i wanted to know about this product is mentioned in this video Keep up the good work 👍
I’m really leaning towards the asus zephyrus g14 because it’s faster than the razer blade, but I heard rumors that it has a 14 ms screen response time. Not sure which one to buy now.
Just got my first Razer few days ago. 2020 Razer Blade 15 with the 1660Ti and i7 10750H 6 Core and 144hz. Super AMAZED by the performance of this machine - it rivals my built desktop and I even returned my 15" macbook pro for this. In love.
I had a 2019 rb15 advanced model and the laptop was nearly perfect even without the 2020 tweaks. However... the 230w charger died on me TWICE in the first 3 months. Only the battery that came with the laptop was replaced by Razer the second one I had to eat the 150$ I spent. I’d also like to mention the cooling was awful. So loud and so hot. I watched this video mostly to hear if there were any improvements in that area and you skipped it entirely. When my rb15 wasn’t using its power cable the functionality and gaming were also awful. Overall it was the most beautiful, expensive, paperweight I had ever had. Razer support is dead last. I could rant about their poor performance until you did your next 2021 rb15 video and i wouldn’t run out of complaints. I paid over 3k and ended up selling it for less than 2k. I owned a Razer product for six months and it couldn’t even turn on for nearly 2 of those 6 months.... haven’t said all that I would still love to see a video do you testing the fan noise and heat while gaming at high settings.
How did they make you pay for the repair? Didnt you have guarantee/warranty? Anyways, at this price range, EVEYTHING simply has to be perfect because 500buck laptops dont have these issues anymore like they had years ago. And Razer, can you remove the huge bottom bezzel pls? We are in 2020 thanks
with the mini DisplayPort gone, is the thunderbolt 3 port tied internally to the dedicated NVIDIA card or the integrated one? (nvidia control panel shows this under PhysX settings, when plugging in a USB-C to DisplayPort adapter). This is the most important question for people with Oculus Rift S VR headsets.
I just bought the 2080 Super Max Q version of this Laptop. It's absolutely amazing... Had to make a couple tweaks to keep temps down, but gaming in Ultra settings 1080p my GPU/CPU temps are now around 65degrees 🙂 Highly recommend the 2020 Advanced 15
Build a PC it’s not hard it’s very easy they will not brake if you make a mistake and I have the razor blade 15 and it’s good I like it but not the best I’ve noticed little bugs that happened all the time and dust gets in your system very fast the top fans are okay but I would say get the Alienware.
Hurray! 👏👏 Finally a Blade 15 (2020 Ed) review. After a dearth of information since they released the new version on some TH-camrs weeks ago, finally Unlockr delivered! I dunno if this is just the pandemic thing that wrecked everyone's uploading schedule or something else but finally I can have my tech cravings (for this particular gear 😉) satisfied. Great review as always David! 👍👍
Hi sir appreciate your review. No doubt Razer Blade Pro is one of the best (if not the best gaming laptop). Performance wise it is top notch. The real concern is its durability. A lot of complaints about defects and hardware issues mostly after a year - i.e. once the warranty expired. Appreciate your advice.
i have a question about Razer laptops if you don't mind answering I need something light and powerful enough to play games (MapleStory , League of legends, Apex legends) while also having the battery life to last all day (6-8 hours minimum) also preferably having a split screen mode that I can actually use (like two chrome tabs side by side one running google docs) what would you recommend for a light/casual gamer who spends the majority of the time studying on campus a Razer Stealth or a Razer Blade 15?
I’m looking at this or thenApple 16inch but I’m still on the learning curve with all things ‘compatible’ as a long time Apple user. I’m looking seriously at switching as I’ve been quite disappointed with Apples for a few years. I thought as a media creator, film and television, this might suite?
Okay, so I've been looking at plenty of reviews on the Razer blade 15 advanced model (2020). I plan on using it primarily for rift CV1 sessions. My only concern is the amount of USB ports I need, like 3 for the headset, and another 1 for a xbox gamepad. Also refresh rate may have to be high for the rift to run well enough. Still dabbling around, about which one to go for?
Since you mention 4K OLED screen for contents creator, their 2070 Max Q at $2299.99 (supposed to be Advanced Model also) comes with an OLED 4K screen, but minus the SD card reader. What's you thought about that? OLED (1 up?) than the 300Hz? SD card reader is not too difficult to bring along, and you save $300.
@@TheUnlockr gotcha. Watched your tutorial video on how to do this. Seems simple enough. I may have to go with the smaller hard drive variation razer I plan to buy since I'll plan to do the 4tb and ram upgrade that you did. Is there a major difference from the 2070 card to the 2080 card or will any of that really matter if I'll be gaming on my ROG monitor? Also will be using laptop for productivity like with office and autoCAD. Opinions and thoughts are appreciated. Thanks.
It's a good walkthrough. Just wish you had cover more of the GPU whether it's the 80w or 90w variant, the quality of the 300hz, and finally the biggest thing that was fixed especially for an a expensive gaming machine is the ability to change the Perfomance option to use DGPU only and not be stuck with IGPU and optimus. That alone make this laptop more of a beast compared to its predecessors.
One more thing I'd like them to change is to get rid of the green LED logo and replace it with the same kinda logo found on the Blade Stealth. Or change the logo altogether, they can still keep the 3-headed snake elsewhere but replace the top logo with some clean minimal "Razer" text
it sucks they don't do the high refresh rate displays with touch capabilities or that the logo is green. I would have loved if it was just like in the stealth or 100% RBG so you could make it a less aggressive color than the green of the brand
Bought this. I love it, it _screams_ through pretty much everything I throw at it, but when gaming man alive does it get HOT (2080 Super version). I play with a fan constantly blowing on it while having the bottom unobstructed. The temps have me a bit concerned that its lifespan with be affected, but I bought the three year comprehensive warranty alongside it. If you're going to splurge on one of these puppies, best to splurge to protect it. All in all though, so far so good and I'm a very happy customer. Great to have DT power in bed, and I especially love how this laptop's design is very innocuous. It looks like any old plain laptop, you'd never guess what a beast this machine is just by looking at it. And it is a beast.
Hey can you say how many nvme slots the razer advanced has? i was reading something about it but i dont know if it has the base model or the advanced model thanks for your time! 🙏❤
I bought the Razer pro 17 2020 4K and also bought Crucial Ballistix SODIMM 32GB Kit (2 x 16GB) DDR4-3200 Gaming Memory ......after instillation i can only see 2666 speed ....any suggestions ?
What about battery bloating problem? Is it fixed now or not? I've canceled purchase of my advanced model now. I need to be sure, that it's done. Any news about it?
@@dogsinthefield Thanks! I'm considering the advanced model and the MSI GS66 10SFS Model, and what funny is, that all of the GS66 in 10SFS configuration are completely sold out in Poland. They're nowhere to be found. You have for sure given a positive feedback regarding Razer!
Sorry, it's usb C port on the left side of the blade can be charged with a 65w usb C charger but how come some reviewers online said it was a 100w usb C charger.. I'm confused.. can anyone clarify this ? tried checking the razer official website specs of the blade 15 advanced model, it only says 20V but not the wattage..
As with many other laptops, I've seen issues with these laptops. I hope the review model and the consumer models are the same because I really want this.
Is it true that the AC Charger (when you plug the cable to the laptop port) will block the other ports (like the Type A USB 3.2 gen 2 port)? Please let me know. Thank you guys!
Honestly hard to say when next Gen consoles and new gfx cards from Nvidia is expected to dominate this fall. Truly depends what you're doing with it, but this is probably not the best year to buy a premium laptop if you're on a budget
How is the framerates in games unplugged or even usbc? Like on my 2017 razerblade, I lost like 5-10fps with the evil within 2 ,I still get 40fps which is playable
@@dogsinthefield I don't think nvidia optimus has anything to do with it. The gpu and cpu draws more watts than the battery can push out so they would have to downclock, just wanna know how far performance wise.
Using Razer Blade 15 Advanced Mid 2019 fully upgraded model and its beast when plugged it but its performance is ridiculously annoying when unplugged even on best performance mode.
They should keep full size arrow keys as an option. This new iteration will only satisfy some. In any case, it's not the time for purchases of high performance laptops. When the next generation 7nm AMD and Nvidia GPU's are out, and when laptop manufacturers swap Intel 14nm for AMD 7nm Renoir, it will be a better time. Keeping my maxed out 2018 Advanced until then.
I like it except one part why didn't they reduce the bezels ? The bottom bezel is so huge it's 2020 and Razer Blade series is a premium laptop series, they really should have shrinked the bezels
I really enjoyed the review with the comparison of past models. I wonder how this model compared to ASUS's new Zephyrus G14 and G15 ultra thin laptops.
Mildly upset that they removed the mini-DP port. I used to connect my G-Sync monitor there and get the full refresh rate and frame rate syncing on my monitor. Unless razer has changed the internal mux config to allow gsync through thunderbolt... rip g-sync on the blade
I came to see if they fixed the overall heat of the laptop.. didnt even mention it... literally the only issue i had with the 2018 model is it getting super toasty which cause the fans to overwork and in my case my battery has actually expanded in size cuasing it to nudge very tightly to the trackpad. Oh and why do gaming laptops only come with tiny storage devices these days? If i were to play Elder Scrolls online just by itself that is 82gb down already... do razer think gamers only play 5 ish games?
I received my razer blade 15 4k oled rtx 2070 max q silver on 2020 June for like 3k bucks. With excitement I opened the package and the first impression on its aluminum surface finish is not pleasant by comparison to the macbook I owned years ago. At that moment I started to fell hesitate to justify my purchases is whether a good one. Then I plugged the cable with awkward looking adapter to the laptop. And it did not light up! After investigation I noticed the cable to the adapter is probably loosely connected despite all the way in. So I gave it little more push to the adapter and it worked . At this moment I thought it is perhaps an engineering flaws? So the laptop worked fine until now. After just one month of usage, The adapter died yesterday. Sigh, after years of using different laptops, this is the first time ever of having power adapter issue on laptop. The last time I had a problem with adapter is losing one accidentally on my lenovo. Now I am sill waiting inline for their customer support to pick up my call, I do not even know if they would pick up my call today, because it already is like 30 minutes waiting. I do not know if they can ship me another adapter or there would be another tech issue happening in the recent future. My conclusion is that I may not going to buy anything from razer again. Everything I purchased from them are all kinda wibbly wobbly.

That's last year's mode is why it's cheaper. Personally I'd go for the newer one since they added so many new features.

Is it fixed now or not? I've canceled purchase of my advanced model now. I need to be sure, that it's done.
Any news about it?
have had the 2080 advanced model since release and have had no issues
@@dogsinthefield Thanks! I'm considering the advanced model and the MSI GS66 10SFS Model, and what funny is, that all of the GS66 in 10SFS configuration are completely sold out in Poland. They're nowhere to be found.
You have for sure given a positive feedback regarding Razer!
Kind of random... but when you plug in your laptop while closed, is there any indicator that it is charging?
Ha yes there is a tiny LED at the front
@@TheUnlockr Mine must be broken then.. it doesn't light up when plugged in and charging
Any updates? Did you buy one and if yes how is so far?
Is it true that the AC Charger (when you plug the cable to the laptop port) will block the other ports (like the Type A USB 3.2 gen 2 port)? Please let me know.
Thank you guys!
Where's the link to the 4TB SSD?
Just added it!
How long does a Gaming Laptop like this one last?
Honestly hard to say when next Gen consoles and new gfx cards from Nvidia is expected to dominate this fall. Truly depends what you're doing with it, but this is probably not the best year to buy a premium laptop if you're on a budget
How are the thermals with long gaming/demanding tasks?
hi can you tell me if the new razer blade 15 with 2080 super max q is 90w or 80w power limit?
How is the framerates in games unplugged or even usbc? Like on my 2017 razerblade, I lost like 5-10fps with the evil within 2 ,I still get 40fps which is playable
just turn off nvidia optimus
Nice video!🌟 Can u provide a battery test info with 60 Hz turned on?!
I like it except one part why didn't they reduce the bezels ? The bottom bezel is so huge it's 2020 and Razer Blade series is a premium laptop series, they really should have shrinked the bezels
Is if possible to run an Oculus rift s on it? Since if doesn't have display port? Is it possible to do over TB?
I really enjoyed the review with the comparison of past models. I wonder how this model compared to ASUS's new Zephyrus G14 and G15 ultra thin laptops.
Mildly upset that they removed the mini-DP port. I used to connect my G-Sync monitor there and get the full refresh rate and frame rate syncing on my monitor. Unless razer has changed the internal mux config to allow gsync through thunderbolt... rip g-sync on the blade
Still not gsync compatible panels. plz ask them why.
What refresh rate is on the 4K screen, 60 Hz, we can assume...?
Yup
I came to see if they fixed the overall heat of the laptop.. didnt even mention it... literally the only issue i had with the 2018 model is it getting super toasty which cause the fans to overwork and in my case my battery has actually expanded in size cuasing it to nudge very tightly to the trackpad. Oh and why do gaming laptops only come with tiny storage devices these days? If i were to play Elder Scrolls online just by itself that is 82gb down already... do razer think gamers only play 5 ish games?
Good review
Nice work!
I received my razer blade 15 4k oled rtx 2070 max q silver
on 2020 June for like 3k bucks. With excitement I opened the package and the
first impression on its aluminum surface finish is not pleasant by comparison
to the macbook I owned years ago. At that moment I started to fell hesitate to
justify my purchases is whether a good one. Then I plugged the cable with
awkward looking adapter to the laptop. And it did not light up! After
investigation I noticed the cable to the adapter is probably loosely connected
despite all the way in. So I gave it little more push to the adapter and it
worked . At this moment I thought it is perhaps an
engineering flaws? So the laptop worked fine until now.
After just one month of usage, The adapter died yesterday.
Sigh, after years of using different laptops, this is the first time ever of
having power adapter issue on laptop. The last time I had a problem with
adapter is losing one accidentally on my lenovo. Now I am sill waiting inline
for their customer support to pick up my call, I do not even know if they would
pick up my call today, because it already is like 30 minutes waiting.
I do not know if they can ship me another adapter or there
would be another tech issue happening in the recent future. My conclusion is
that I may not going to buy anything from razer again. Everything I purchased
from them are all kinda wibbly wobbly.
Is there an Ethernet port on this laptop
On the base model there is but not on the advanced
TheUnlockr how much is the base model
TheUnlockr and where can I buy the base model online
