  • The truck will not be listed quite yet, apparently the person we bought it from have us the wrong title. We are getting that sorted. Once we get the correct title we will have the truck up on eBay and make another video about it.

    OMG This is my favorite type of pickup truck😍 please keep it original. No hotroding or lowriding.

    Absolutely LOVE these old Advance Design pickups; I learned to drive in a '49 Chev 1/2-ton with the optional four-speed. I like telling people that I learned to drive in a vehicle with FOUR pedals... they rarely guess the fourth one, the starter pedal :)

    I'm watching you trying to start an old Chevy truck.It will start better if you pull the plugs and shoot some marvel oil down the spark plugs holes.it will turn better.

    I have a 1960 Impala two piece drive shaft, but I'm in the Detroit area. I "think" it's a Powerglide shaft.... the front part is different length depending on the transmission used. I could ship it, but I bet shipping would be more than what a driveshaft is worth..... though I would give you the driveshaft free, if you want to drive to the Detroit area.... but no guarantee on it being a Powerglide front shaft....

    About 1952, they advertised these as "Chevrolet, the only fine car ... priced so low." That may or may not have applied also to "Advance Design Chevrolet Trucks." I'd prefer 70-series tires on these older cars but, otherwise, I'd like to keep it a 6-cylinder car, or truck.

  • @aftershock2222
    @aftershock2222 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yup, $1000 for a new two piece drive line is too much. You’re better off finding a used one. They show up on eBay occasionally. The last one I bought there cost me $200 shipping included. When you find one, you’ll probably have to cut it. Most of the ones out there are for the PowerGlide. Yours has a four speed , right? Thanks for the vid.

    Nothing like turning over a longtime stored engine without pulling the plugs and putting some oil or MM oil down the cylinders to lube the cylinder walls or pulling the valve cover to see if a valve was rusted shut or open. Great teaching skills......not.

    If those wire mesh filters are properly maintained there ok. The wire mesh needs to be oiled well, to catch the dust and dirt.... altho paper filters do filter better and are way less messy. Super solid truck, well worth a restoration or customizing.

  • @jamesmyers9229

    It is an oil,bath carb. Filter, the fiber and metal,part,does not work by itself. If you do not put oil in cylinders on first start you are scoring cclinders because. The uper does not pump oil to balves, it is a splash method only.

  • @whitaker2107
    @whitaker2107 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    you are supposed to soak it in motor oil and let a little lay in the bottom tray, they work infinitely better then a paper filter but how can you sale filters when you have one that you rinse with gas poor oil over and use forever

  • @Ryanfantana
    @Ryanfantana 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Take off the valve cover and see if the rockers are oiling, easy to take off the rocker shaft and clean it up if they are not. Those old stove bolts are almost indestructible.
