Who here picked up playing dragon age inquisition again in preparation for this game, I’m actually having a great time again, really good game and aged fairly well
Yes. And I played the Trespasser DLC for the first time. Wow! I don't think it's fair that it isn't just part of the base game. It seems important to have that information before playing Veilguard
Yeah, all 3 games! - last year when they said about "more info in the summer including the release date" I was pretty certain we'd get it this year haha. It had been a few years since I'd played the games so doing a full replay of all 3 was great - I did Origins while I was off last Xmas then DA2 and DAI in Spring.
It's truly unfortunate that the hardcore DA fans aren't warming up to this game, but as someone who couldn't get into them until beating about half of Inquisition, I can say this game is definitely looking like my cup of tea.
for me the road is clear, it's mage, in dragon age origins my first character was dwarf warrior, but that was 14 years ago and i still didn't fully develop my RPG class taste
I am glad that there is still some normal channel about the game, its gameplay, characters, story, background and not just stupid hate for few optional cosmetic thinks.
@@TT09B5 explain how it did age badly? And yeah all these critics have nothing else but these cosmetic options to criticize or better yet hate. If it would be about gameplay, story then yeah i get it. But gameplay was mostly evaluated as good and story? You cannot critize that because nobody but creators know about it lol. So if my comment aged badly then you need to get to some proper age it seems.
@@TT09B5uh huh. You mean content creators who actually were found to lying about the game being bad and never even got a code. Normally, this isn't even a question, my first playthrough is always Mage, followed by Rogue, then Warrior, but I'm honestly having a hard time deciding now. They all look like so much fun, especially Rogue. I think I might still be sticking with Mage, because Spellblade seems like a great time, and I can't wait to try out the orb and dagger move set. I might even just do the tutorial section up to Solas' ritual with each class just to try out the basics of each of them first before I fully commit.
This is fucking hard. I usually do warrior but after seeing mage and that u can actually specialize into melee mage I might finally break my streak of playing warrior to do mage
I'm absolutely torn between Warrior and Rogue on my first playthrough. Starting to lean more towards Rogue though especially if Warrior does not have the option of a 2-handed sword.
I'm actually dead excited for this, didn't think I would be but I am. Only played Inquisition and a bit of 2 but this looks like they've really simplified the bloating from DAI and made everything much tighter.
I love playing a tank in games like Warcraft. But that's because they try to balance your ability to solo the game interestingly, and then turn to effective unkillable builds in raid situations. Single player games like Dragon Age have had some difficulty making sword and board Warriors fun. They do a great job of making your party tank unkillable if that's how you want to go. But this is the first game in the series that looks like an absolute blast to play with a shield, and I'm looking forward to it.
Always loved mage but ranged has always been kinda boring/too easy in DA, even on Nightmare, so when i saw the orb and dagger combined with the mage dodging i knew i had to to try spellblade first. Gonna be so fun!
I might spend a lot of time going between the rogue classes. Duelist is a default for me but the saboteur feels like a Mass Effect engineer. And my engineer, Newton Shepard, was a deadly SOB
Thank you! I just made my character and I was stuck on choosing a class. When I started the game I made up my mind to be a rogue because they looked cool in the trailer, but after seeing all 3 classes in the preview window, I was lost. Warrior Slayer looked really cool (I'm normally a warrior so doubt was setting in). But after seeing your video, and how slow warrior is, and how stiff he looks compared to rogue.. I have decided to go for a rogue duelist. Thanks! :-)
I've been loving your content. I'm glad you're doing all this work. As feedback, I would like to let you know that sometimes the background music makes listening to you a bit hard. For example, while describing the mage... Everything is alright, but when you start naming the first specialization... The volume is way too high. Hope my feedback helps. Kudos to you and your entertaining videos
Having played every Dragon Age game, I've always played all 3 classes Mage, Warrior and Rogue in them. That said I've always started as a Mage and I think a Shadow Dragon Mage is the way to go. Given the resource boost from being a Shadow Dragon, having a increase in mana regen will guarantee being able to increase consistent damage at a faster rate.
I would probably be playing Warrior, cause the combat looks fun, but I really dislike that almost all the abilities look like you're utilizing magic. Rogue suffers from this too, just a little less because they have more of a magical tool flavor to it.
This is the first time in any dragon age that i actually want to beat the whole game with pretty much every archetype. Not equally, I'll do the long range staff build first. Cause while it still seems fun, just not as fun as every other set up.
Not sure If I want Reaper Warrior or Slayer Warrior for Nightmare difficulty... Seems critical to pick mournwatch background for reapers for the extra stack of affliction, but could also be nothing just speculating. Just wondering if all the hard enemies are strong against necrotic.
Also worth pointing out that most of the Reaper's damage is necrotic and we know that darkspawn are resistant to that. However, you could make a grey warden reaper and deal more damage to them while also getting some added tankiness. They said we can change our specializations any time but that faction seems to be something to really consider.
Every since the first Dragons Dogma ive been obsessed with the idea of a Magic Archer so I'm probably going with Veil ranger first but will probably restart about 20 times before I actually stick to a class just like every rpg I play
Rogue.Q can U have different save slots with different playthrough/class/builds so U can go try different things,or is save slots only for one playthrough character that you currently play with
I think I finally decided. I’m going old school and doing a human male sword and shield as a grey warden champion. As a dark souls vet as well they’re not gonna know what hit them when I parry everything they got lol
i'm a bit confused on how specialization factions work. do you get it for free for being part of that faction? do you need to improve your reputation with them to unlock them? because i think my first character will be a Gray Warden Spellblade, kinda like how my first Inquisition character was a Knight-Enchanter
Warrior specializations seem real lackluster, except for maybe the reaper. Other ones are just generic sword and board and the other is generic two weapon fighter. I know Champion has always been a generic mainstay, but they couldn't have included berserker, templar, reaver, or something more spicy than two hander guy?
I wonder if you don't have to go into a specialization, I have looked at all the skills and I really like the non-specializations skills more. I guess it really depends on those passives.
Not set in stone yet but I believe I'm going to cut my teeth playing as a Rouge Duelist in which I may or may not finish the game. My next two playthroughs will likely be as an Mage Evoker and a Mage Spellblade. I don't know if I'll do 3rd mage specialization next or not. Then likely a warrior and if I didn't finish as a Rouge they will be next. Hopefully I want to continue on and finish all the class/specialization combos.
Mage, easy. I wonder if there’s enough skill points to nab those lightning skills and make it all the way back to Death Caller. My Stormy/Necro was super fun in Inquisition
