Definitely playing as a Mage straight away. Every Dragon Age game I've started as a Mage. Plus I think the Shadow Dragon background will be the go to for mages as you'll recover mana faster to keep pumping out magical attacks. But everyone knows the first BIG boss in the game will be character creation, the place where tons of hours will be dumped into.
I’m actually playing through Inquisition for the first time now on my Series X and holy cow the game is holding up after 11 years ! I think for Veilguard I’m going with either a Rogue Trap specialist or a Mage Deathcaller !
Think im gonna go with rogue duelist veil jumper, from all game play just seems the most fun to play and getting that extra crit damage is a plus..it seems it should have been with the crows or shadow dragons but oh well
Just finished my new “canon” playthrough of inquisition and went female elven mage for the Solas romance! Can’t wait to see how that impacts Veilguard!
Thank you for going through the appearance customization components for us and actually showing us a lot of the options available, especially facial hair. I haven't seen anyone else go through the options like that in their videos yet, especially with a male character. I *really* appreciate it.
One great thing I wish more games would implement is similar to Mass Effect where you create a code in your customisation so you can reuse a customisation, share it or whatever.

Aulus Cornelius Celsus wrote a medical journal where he outlined breast reductions, and many other cosmetic surgeries in the first century. Cosmetic surgeries were often done on those with natural deformities and deformities for battle. It stopped for several hundred years because the Bible forbade people from altering their bodies.

You don't want to make 20 versions of everything and you don't want to force potencial new players to do hundreds of hours.of homework for games that came out over a decade ago. I thinm keeping it at the witcher 3 level where Leto and a few other things change but the core experience is the same. You want the new game to convince others to try the old ones, not force them.

The way I understand it (might be wrong) you can choose face presets with the features you like. Then make some of them more pronounced than the others. And then you can adjust individual features (like eye size or tilt etc).
Unfortunately, that is a level of inclusion that requires genuine time and money to implement: A single character skin isn’t that much extra effort for the art team - mirroring all the animations essentially means twice the work, which = “No” from a development standpoint Realistically, it should be the second most represented thing in all games since it’s like 1/10 of every human on the planet, but apparently no one gives a crap about that, because people are rarely beaten or killed tor being left handed (at least, not anymore)

This is due to their immunity to Lyrium, the crystalized essence that exists in the world as a physical representation of magic. Dwarves lived and evolved underground, mining Lyrium and selling it, or using it in potions and other craft, which gave them their immunity over thousands of years, but cut off their ability to use magic.
What's weird about these comments is that everyone who has a full name followed by four numbers is praising the game. I get it bro, we all gotta eat and EA has a lot of money.
The reason is because TH-cam changed the way your handle works so people who didn't have manual handles previous to that had numbers attached to them if that handle matched the channel name. I just changed mine today after not noticing apparently since August.
DOS2 is brilliant - I love playing as Fane - but Veilguard is a Dragon Age game, so the classes are more about the ongoing BioWare story than old school TTRPG mechanics. If you'd rather not play it, that's fine. Playing more DOS2 is definitely an option. Enjoy!

And tbh more recent showcases left me pretty optimistic. In the end, we won't know if the game hits the sweet spot until we play ourselves, so there's no point in worrying too much in advance. 😉
