For any console users struggling with the 1st part, jumping off isn't necessary, letting a NPC dismount you and quit out as soon as you hear the dismount will also work. So you can already have the quit option selected, making this step very simple. You can also go quite far from torrent after loading back in (side note - avoid erd trees, as they will kill you if you get to close)

iim on pc i dont know what im doing wrong i do the first part correct go the edge reload and torrent has fallen off i summon him it ask if i want to use a flask i say yes and summon i walk off edge and just fall to my death
definitely still works for playstation. difficult to pull off but constant practice eventually becomes easy muscle memory. find it actually easier to do this near enemies when torrent refuses to fall of cliffs. I just end up attracting them then they just end up attacking and pushing him of the cliff instead.
You can actually get off torrent and rewhistle him and the glitch persist at least on pc. resting at grace or using the map to teleport will reset this but u can touch graces for later telport use !
Help you out for xbox only jump off horse then turn your game off from the console button once logged on he will be standing next to you then you can find a edge and walk off while saving the game works every your welcome
Oof, I had that happen once. it’s one of two things you’re doing. You’re either not quitting quick enough during the drop, or you’re not edging slight enough. You can’t go too far over the edge, you need to slowly tap the movement forwards. Hope this helps :)
my horse keep pushing me over the cliff. like 20 time today....sometime it reparw in my left, some time right, some time front , some time back, just always appear in somewhere that push me over the cliff, any specific location or shape of the land that is 100% ok.. i can do it at starting area for new player with no problem. but I cannot do it anywhere
Not sure what's not working for me on Xbox. Got the first part down but every time I walk off and save when I reload torrent is still on the cliff. I've counted out 3 seconds while falling before saving to reload to him still there
did they patch for ps5? i use to be able to do it, but it suddenly stopped working. i see the dismount animation start and i quit in time, but im loading back in still riding torrent

You can do this slightly easier by putting the horse in the quick slot. Pressing A/X will make you jump off horse so you don't have to press pause

Ghost of tushima helped me with with the button combo. Them bamboo cutting mini game. Just practice the pattern.

If you do a sprint on the horse first, you get a bit more time.
