    Thanks for such a great review. I currently have an MT07 which I love, but the street triple RS has caught my eye, the more i look at it and watch reviews about it, the more i'm wanting one in my garage.

      This would be a great upgrade to your Yamaha. With the MT's 270 degree engine, you'll be used to a bit of character and the Triumph has character in spades, plus it's amazingly good fun 👍

    Great informative and fun to watch review! Glad you like the bike as i just purchased one 2 weeks ago :) After much deliberation on different bikes it made the best one bike solution for my every day riding. oh....and yes those brakes are fantastic; fabulous feel and definitely stop-now power.

    Firstly a great review 👍🏻
    I’ve just bought the S version of the bike & although it doesn’t have the whistles & bells of the RS. It’s still an amazingly fast agile bike with a superb soundtrack. Best bike I’ve ever owned, go out and test ride one!

    Went for a test ride back in March and loved it so much I returned to the dealers after literally just 2 miles and ordered one on the spot. I agree with you about the fiddly/poor quality left-hand switches and toggles, but apart from that, it's the perfect bike. I came from a 2004 Daytona which felt like an old tractor compared to this RS! Always good to see a decent review, well done.

      tifa thanks I appreciate your comment. I try to aim my reviews at the potential buyer and I try to answer the questions that I personally would have, because bikes are expensive to buy and it's not always possible for some people to arrange a test ride.
      There's enough sponsored wheelie filled music video type reviews out there, but when it comes to buying the right bike then you need info 👍

    I went to test drive 2020 Street Triple RS today and no doubt it is a very capable machine. I was hesitating to change from a full faired bike to this fantastic naked bike, worrying about strong wind hitting my body at high speed. Thanks for covering the wind issue and shared your thoughts whether adding an additional windscreen is a good idea or not. This video wouldn’t waste your time to watch if you are considering to get on a naked bike. Wish me luck on my trade in process. GOOD JOB!

    The point you make about naked bikes and perceived 'lack of wind protection' is brilliant and one I've not heard on any other bike review ever. You are 100% right imo; leave as is......it's really not a problem. Great reviews btw; I only just discovered your channel tonight and there's some great stuff here. Looking forward to more :)

    Brilliant review, I love the way you ride to, the way a bike should be ridden, that's what makes bikes so exhilarating. It just shows how you don't have to be flat out on a sports bike to make progress.

    Great review mate, I bought a silver one after rest riding a black demonstrator from Youles in Manchester, yes it was that very bike you tested on this video, she only had 130 miles on the clock and apart from the mechanic nursing her through the first 100 miles I was the first person out on her they told me. I love my RS to bits and I've done a loop of Spain and many weekend rides now with 5900 miles on her. If I were to be picky I would say the high beam switch gets caught a few times putting high beam on, and the number plate /rear lights mounting is a bit wobbly but such a fantastic bike eh? Very addictive indeed I just can't keep off it.

      Excellent! It had a few miles on it when I tested it and was well run in which i liked. I think the silver one is the way to go too as it looks just that bit more special. I have to admit that I have bike envy of you now :)

    Great review....couldn’t agree more about the triple, sold a Superduke recently for to the same reason as you mentioned regards your R1, I just cannot use it to full potential on the roads....went and got the XE for touring, but the hooligan in me is still there after 33 years!...so sod it, going to have to get an RS me thinks...did test ride it as a courtesy bike about 18 months ago and couldn’t fault it either.....Subscribed!

      omg i just popped her in rain mode last night and im in love! i thought the throttle was a bit snatchy compared to my 2015 but now in the rain mode its a lot more forgiving! Damn it i love this bike wtf.
      I had no idea it has self-canceling indicators as well. So pimp!

    Really enjoyable to watch a review done by an acknowledged expert. I have just bought the R version, only done 400 miles, so thankfully can do 6000 rpm after the recommended 5000 limit. Have ridden sportsbikes for decades, so this will take a while .to get used to, especially as I've hardly ridden for a few years. You're so right about the fuelling: it's amazing, as was that on a 675 I had a while back. Front brake is really powerful, but I'm not getting the feel of the road/tyre interface through the lever which I've had from most bikes I know. The bike sounds really good, even with the supplied exhaust. And, as you say, the standard of finish is excellent (the R doesn't have the cluster if buttons on the left bar, and, I'm glad to say, doesn't have the tft screen - a nice analogue tacho and digital speedo. Re the le latter: these are scarily accurate: the "council speedos" at the entrance to villages tell me to slow down if I'm 2 mph over my at-the-limit reading. Old speedos usually under read by 10%.

    When I test rode the 765 there were only 3 negatives 1) found the seat shoved the jewels into the tank making it a painful ride on some pothole roads 2) a bit lacking in the low down torque 3) when I pushed it on a back road I noticed a surge in power which unsettled the bike when leaning at 90+, this really took away my confidence on this bike, maybe great stability at expense of some stability at high speeds. Great bike just want to see if you had any of these issues?

      The Incredible Sulk I can't say that this bike was anything other than fully planted and confidence inspiring at all speeds personally. I'll tell you whuch bike has caught my eye thoigh, the new MT-09 SP. It shoild have a it more torque low down and with an Ohlins shock and KYB forks, the reported suspension issues shpuld be sorted

      VeeFour I think the street triple will still have the MT09 due to the 10kg weight difference and more aggressive rider position, but the MT09 will definitely be one of the top bargains considering the components

      765 R has more power and torque everywhere below 10,000 rpm than the RS.

      @@dadodasler9730 It's not a significant difference, but there is a difference. I would also consider the 790 Duke from KTM as it handles lighter (if you can imagine that) and has both more torque and horsepower below 9k rpm than any of the Triumph bikes.

    I’ve had the Monster 821 , Bmw 310r , my next bike will be this Triumph, it looks like an AMAZING BIKE , my current bike is the F800 R , great bike but this Triumph seems special

    One of the most enjoyable and useful reviews I've seen on TH-cam, great job! Only problem is, I was set on a leftover (new) 2019 MT10 and just found a 2019 RS (leftover/new) in town for about the same price. After putting about 600 miles on my brothers 2017 Bonny this past summer I know the quality of the Triumph build. Decisions decisions!!!!

      Hmmm a tough one 🤔
      The MT10 is an amazing bike with so many things going for it, but the one big flaw that it has is that it is terrible on fuel mileage. The 765RS on the other hand does it all and still manages to be a sensible economic bike if you want it to be.
      I think the only cloud on the horizon for the Street Triple, is that I've been hearing reports of TFT dash failures after warranty expiration, but otherwise it's a solid bike

    Had a test ride of one of these today . Very good. Quite different to my Speed Twin.
    Stating the "bleedin' obvious" the 765 triple didn't have to low rev torque of the Speed Twin, but once the revs were up it was very quick, where it probably out performs the Speed Twin. Can't say I've fully explored the performance of my Speed Twin or this bike. They're both quick enough for me.
    I found this bike really easy to ride, and I only did my CBT just over a year ago, passed my test a few months back.
    I did find the mirrors would buzz at certain engine revs. This doesn't happen on my Speed Twin. I found reading the speedo easier on this bike as compared to the classic clocks.
    In fact I was very impressed with the TFT. My learner bike, a Honda CB125R, had a very hard to see digital display, this one was really good. A TFT would look wrong on a Speed Twin.
    I did prefer the operation of the petrol filler cap on this bike, again this would look wrong on a Speed Twin.
    Ahh, and the whistle, it whistles more than the Speed Twin, and I quite liked the whistle.
    I like this bike a lot. Since I can currently only have 1 bike, I do prefer my Speed Twin. Flatter pillion seat, the retro looks, and I do like the low end torque and sound of the 1200 twin.
    If and when I can get a second bike (where amongst other things I don't have to worry about flatter pillion seat for my wife) it will probably be a Street Triple since it is quite different, the engine sound, the way it delivers the power, its more modern looks. There is not much point getting another retro twin like the Speed Twin !
    This side of track days I can't see me getting a Speed Triple, I hardly used the power of the Street Triple, plus there's always the cash angle.
    I'm well into middle age, maybe that's a factor in why I prefer my Speed Twin. I can see how those who are a bit younger would prefer one of these.
    All that said, the summary is "I WANT ONE !" (to complement my Speed Twin)

      If you own a bike and love riding it, then that's the best bike in the world and you need no other 👍
      The current generation Street Triple however, only really shines when you take it beyond the envelope of riding it around at normal road speeds.
      The 765 RS triple is basically a naked Daytona, and its handling will not only eclipse the Speed twin, but many other 1000cc race replicas. The way it holds a line at high speed and changes direction at low speed is simply divine, plus it stops every bit as well as it goes as it's stability under hard braking is very confidence inspiring.
      True, you'd have to take it on a race track to get the very most from it (and I would earnestly encourage any owner of one to do just that), and comparing the 765 RS with the Speed Twin, is like comparing apples with pears as both are great but in very different ways.
      In any event, Triumph don't make a single bad bike so enjoy yours and ride safe 👍👍

      @@VeeFour thanks :) Yes Triumph don't make a bad bike. I guess there some whose styles don't appeal to me. The bobber with no back seat, and the high pipes on the scramblers. That's not to say they're bad, they just don't appeal. I guess some must like them. A Street Triple appeals to me and I might get one next year. If I won the lottery I'd have a Rocket because it is just plain silly !
      I will probably try a track day, in the novice section, next year after a bit more road experience.

    Great review thanks a lot man! Question - would you guys recommend going for a new remodeled 2020 or saving some serious cash and buying a 2018 used? Pretty set on selling the sport bike and getting one of these.. thoughts?

      I'm not sure to be honest. I haven't had the chance to look at the new 2020 one yet outside of Motorcyclist Magazine's commute review, and it looks like the changes are largely cosmetic and to conform to Euro 5.
      Personally myself I'd buy a good low milage 2018-19 and spend the money saved on things like Ohlins front fork cartridges and a full system. The bike would be perfect then 👍

    Mate I have to say that was a brilliant review/video. I have been watching your videos for a few years now. great little comparisons between the speed and street triple as well. I have been considering the 765. and I agree the 700-800 cc mark is near perfect.
    it will be interesting to see the decision you make on what bike you will have. looking forward to the next video.

    compared to the 675 (I have the '10 ST3R) - looking to see if
    1) this has better or relatively unchanged midrange?
    2) More plush / less vibration?
    3) Less heat off the engine?
    4) Same ergos?
    Love my 2010 R - best bike Ive ever owned, but always wishing it was a little plusher suspension, more mid-range, less vibration.
    not sure this is worth the $$$ to upgrade from my baby.
    ps- one of the better reviews in general ive seen on a bike. well done;

      Well prior to this one, I've only ever ridden the standard 675 Street. However this one feels like it has a bit more midrange punch and I couldn't discern any vibes (and I'm sensitive to vibrational white finger too) and like the previous 675 I rode, engine heat wasn't an issue either (try riding an S100RR if you want to feel a bike with real engine heat). I also found them very similar to ride ergonomically and the suspension gave a lovely ride.
      If I owned a 675R however, and I was happy with it, I probably wouldn't upgrade unless I was hankering for the gimicky touches like the TFT dash.

    Awesome Review, first-time viewer of your Vids from Singapore, subscribed Immediately. I am currently on the fence with the 2015 version of the Tuono and the 765RS. What are your opinions on the 2? Sound wise and Commuting wise.

      Okay, this is a big topic but I'll try and be concise.
      The Tuono and the Street RS are in different leagues to each other, so it's difficult to compare them.
      The Aprilia is an out and out monster, and it will eat your face, and I know this because I've owned one. It has absolutely stellar low and mid range torque, and fully cracking the throttle open on one and being able to rev it out to max whilst using the quick shifter to change up as the front wheel barely grazes the tarmac, is just utterly sublime.
      With its V4 engine growling under you, the bike actually feels as if it's alive, not just metaphorically but literally as even on tick over the bike doesn't vibrate, it purrs like a tiger at rest. Crack it open so that you get the full V4 sound and power, and that purr becomes a roar and you know that your riding a very very serious motorcycle that you need to treat with the maximum amount of respect.
      Sounds good right? Sounds like the perfect bike right? Well it would be if all the roads you rode on were race track smooth and had no other traffic and speed limits.
      On the other hand, the Tuono is very thirsty...very! It also doesn't like to be ridden slowly, and of your commute includes any amount of slow moving traffic, then all that pent up power and aggression becomes a liability. The throttle is very sporty, so the revs rise quickly for very little movement which means that you're constantly twitching your right hand to keep at the revs you want, plus the engine feels a bit lumpy below 30mph/50kph so you'll find yourself almost constantly feathering the clutch to keep the transmission smooth.
      The Triumph on the other hand has much much less outright power, and compared to the Tuono it's not in the same class. However this reduction in power has some added benefits, such as much much better fuel milage, but best of all you can use more of the bikes engine day to day. To get the best out of the Aprilia you need to be on a race track (which I've done, it was AMAZING) because on the public roads you will either die or get sent to prison, but on the Triumph you can get the bike really singing before you reach life imprisonment speeds. That doesn't mean that the Street RS is slow, because it isn't and far from it. That 765 triple engine is an absolute gem, with more than enough power to get you grinning from ear to ear in your helmet, and it makes a superb screaming howl while it does it.
      Both bikes handle superbly, but all round the Triumph is easier to ride as it's lighter,slightly more nimble and feels like a well set up yet comfortable race bike. The Tuono in contrast needs a certain level of rider skill to be ridden well as it benefits from positive and decisive counter steer inputs, which can make it a challenging bike to master, but it will reward you ten fold when you do, but again this needs many full days on a race track to perfect as it's just to dangerous on the roads.
      Both bikes are equally well specced, and just because the Triumph is a smaller cc bike it doesn't mean that it is in any way less well equiped than any modern 1000cc sports bike you can name. It has all the whistles and bells you could ever want or need, and on top of that it has some of the best brakes that I've personally encountered on a street legal road bike, they are absolutely amazing, powerful yet really controllable.
      So in summary, if you want a bike to use for exciting weekend riding on nice clear roads that are free from speed enforcement, and that you can really grow into as your skill increases? Then buy a Tuono, it's utterly magnificent for this kind of riding.
      However, if you commute and want to use the bike day to day as your main transport as well as your weekend fun bike? Then out of the two, the Street Triple RS is the abdolutely perfect choice.....and the one I would be making.
      Lastly, also check the availability of service centres for both makes of bike before you choose, and also again before you make any final decisions, look into Yamaha's MT09 SP, thats the bike I've ultimately settled on 😉

    I tested one of these bikes recently and I'd have to agree, it's hands down one of the best bikes I've ever ridden on the road - I don't understand why Triumph don't do the RS in the white colour scheme available on the R though, because it looks fabulous.

    Great review, a fellow enthousiast! Riding a Tiger 800 currently (fantastic bike anyway), I do miss my 675 Street triple. So I was thinking of buying a street again (765 R) or maybe a Speed triple because I ride about 12.000 miles a year.

      Miguel D That's a fair few miles every year, I'd be looking at the Speed Triple R in that case. Loads of torque and power, but not so much that it becomes a gas guzzling liability, and reasonable gas milage too. Crikey, I miss my Speed and I'd have another one tomorrow

    Great job mate.... do u think the 900 triple from Yamaha is similar in performance to the Triumph?

      Well I own a MT09 SP, and I chose it over the RS because the yamaha has noticably more low to mid range torque. It doesn't have quite as much top end power as the Triumph, although it has more than enough, and the Triumph has better handling.
      I felt that for me the MT makes a better road bike, but the choice was a difficult one to make, and I believe that there's no wrong choice between the two as it's just a matter of personal taste.
      They're both amazing bikes 👍

    I tried the new one and I absolutely loved it. In hindsight, that was a big mistake as I couldn’t afford one but even 2 years after the test drive I can’t stop thinking about this bike! I’m gonna try getting one sometime in the next 18 months.

      Some bikes can really get under your skin like that. There are some good deals out there to be had on the 2018 models right now, at least in the UK where I am, and if you can find a good low mileage one with a full service record it’ll be as good as new

      @@VeeFour Here in india the bike is still expensive (relative to income) even in the second hand market, though the values do drop significantly (30% easy) in the second hand market. Hoping to get a good deal for a late 2019/early 2020 model for around 9500£ equivalent in the second hand market (for the RS), fingers crossed 🤞🏽

    Nice review.. Those roads are in my back garden and I know them well and I think the triumph coped very well with the bumps... If I change my GS LC I think this would be my first choice.. Cheers.

    Excellent review.
    How would you say is this bike in terms of performance compared to Kawasaki z900 or a ninja 1000?
    All three are lovely bikes. Can’t decide which one to buy.

      Thanks. I would estimate that the power of the Z900 and this bike would be broadly similar, but the Triumph will probably be a bit sportier, especially in the handling.
      The Ninja 1000 will be much more powerful with a great deal more torque across the entire rev range. The difference in the engine size between the 900 and 1000 may only be 100cc, but the differences are great. The 900 will be a sized up version of the previous 750/800 engine, whereas the 1000 will be heavily based on the ZX10R engine

      vageesh kedambi Hmmmm tough one. Well I've never ridden the ninja butit gets excellent rider reviews, so it's going to be a great machine.
      It would depend on my situation as to which I'd go for. If I was only going to own the one bike and I wanted to do some touring or had a long commute or just generally covered a lot of miles, then the ninja would be my choice, but if I wasn't using the bike as my main transport and was only riding for fun then I'd go for the Triumph as it's lighter weight and quicker handling would make me smile more everytime

    Hi Veefour- you’re local to me as I live in Totten. Just getting back to riding after a 25 year break - aside from holiday hires that is! Ultimately want to tour with pals and alone, (BMW R1200 GA Adventure). But need something smaller to start (and to keep). Really interested in the Triumph Street Triple (they know you at Youles!) but also the Ducati Monster (small one) and the BMW 800R. What do you think? Can’t contemplate that burn from the Blackburn road to Edgeworth (what a ride!) but don’t want anything sloppy. Enjoying ur blogs n keep it up!

      Yeah they're a good bunch at Youles and I've had a good couple of deals off them in the past, in the shape of a Speed Triple and my current Tiger 1200.
      Okay where to start hmmm. From your eclectic mix of possibles there, it seems that you're looking at the 700 to 800 bracket which has a wealth of bikes to choose from.
      The Street Triple is a fantastic machine for all round use, and for daily transport and weekend fun they are hard to beat. However you mentioned touring, and although you could strap bags and stuff to the rear seat and tank and make the best of it, it's probably not the best option for serious touring. Looking at Triumph first, in your case I'd be looking at the Tiger 800 XR range, as that 800 is a sweet fun revvy engine and it handles much better than it looks like it should, yet it's all day comfortable, has cruise control and all other mod cons plus you can carry luggage for days. Another good one from triumph that will fit your bill, is the Tiger Sport 1050. Yes it's a bit more engine than you're looking for, but it's got tons of Speed Triple DNA in it and you can carry luggage, plus you won't grow out of it.
      Away from Triumph I'd also be looking at the Yamaha MT-09 Tracer. The Triple 850 engine is utterly fantastic and will put a smile on your face for years, as it feels very similar to the Triumph Street Triple engine but with more low down power at the expense of all out top end, but personally I'll take low down grunt on the roads any day. It doesn't have all the mod cons like the Triumphs, but they are great bullet proof bikes that can carry luggage and are comfortable for all day riding, but still have a rambunctious character for when you get into the twisties, which they can handle as well as a sports bike.
      I don't know much about the BMW 800R having never ridden it, and it wouldn't be my personal choice. I'm sure they are a good bike, but I'm not a big fan of parallel twins personally. As for the Ducati mini Monster, I'm sure it's a fun bike and all, and having ridden a few Ducs I can attest that they are a blast to ride, but outside of the Multistrada I wouldn't consider touring on one.
      Just make sure you test a few before you choose, and don't fall for dealer patter. Stick to your guns and try a few before you make the decision.

    Absolutely loved your review! Have even saved it to watch again at a later date 😁 I am a bit biased though as I have a 2018 RS and love it to bits. I think If you’d turned the traction control function off and had it in track mode then you would of noticed it change to a different bike. The modes give it different levels of anti wheelie, this is why you have to stop to alter certain settings. Keep up the excellent work Sir ! Liked & Subbed 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

    Your review was excellent and probably one of the best reviews on TH-cam , I now own a street triple RS, I liked the speed RS too but don’t like the under seat exhaust and I do like the 800cc triples coming from a Yamaha 847cc triple, still the extra torque of the speed would be nice to have.

      The Tuono without any reservation stomps all over this in pretty much every department (with the exception of maybe agility). However, having once owned a 2014 Tuono V4R I would have to say that this little Triumph is actually more fun to ride. All 1000cc sports bikes and their naked cousins, just have to much power for legal safe road use. They're thirsty and are a pain in the arse to ride around at low speeds, and constantly feathering the throttle becomes tiresome. The Street Triple has a much more useable power delivery, and can be ridden around at 30 mph without complaint and is quite frugal on the fuel in comparison, all of which (for me) makes the 750 range of bikes perfect for street riding, as they have all the fun but less of the hassle.
      I think it all depends on what you plan to use the bike for, if it's going to be a main mode of daily transport then I'[d stay clear of the Aprilia, but if it's just going to be a weekend toy then the V4 will just make you sooooooo happy. Sometimes I regret selling mine I really do....sometimes

      Hey, Thx for the speedy reply, V4. I believe that is the fork in the road ... daily Xport vs fun machine... I found the new TV4 to be quite civilized compared to my 1198S (which scored "0" in that category) at urban speeds but can immediately see the Triumph not bothered at all putting about ... For me the TV4 is 80% entertainment and 20% purpose transportation (and no lane splitting here in Toronto ... ) I think the Speed could be the sensible daily second bike... if I was permitted to have a second. A pleasure chatting with you. Safe riding and thanks for sharing your experience. I don't believe people really appreciate the effort required to create quality segments like yours. No bike is perfect and therefore the great ones should all have a place in the garage at some point for some time.

    Just rewatching this great review! I am thinking of going from Fireblade as unusable on the road and tossing it between a Street RS and ‘16 Speed Triple & S1000r. Every one says the Street Triple is great fun on the road but some say the power is too high up in rev range making it hard work on the road what are your thoughts ?

      I found this bike to be anythjng but hard work. The power is in the same sporty region on the rev range as your Blade, but because there's less of it, which beleive me is a very good thing on a road bike, the power is more accessible and you can use more of it on the public highways.
      I used to be all about the top end power, but since I got off that silly merry go round I've been enjoying my road riding more than ever.
      You should try one and you'll see what I mean, and try an MT09 as well, as they have more low to mid range torque, but slightly less top end 👍👍

Like me you had the ‘12 Speed Triple i know the Street RS is down on torque but would take the Street over a ‘16 Speed R which is much smoother than the ‘12 models as both are similar price used

    Great video! Coming from a liter bike you just rode it like one. Too nervous to really rev it and always short shifting. Liter bikes actually spoil the riding experience for me. They are over the top for the roads.

    I have a 13' Street Triple S, which I am looking to trade-in, for the new Street Triple R model. I test rode the R in the Fall and it felt much more taught and muscular. First and second gear on the new 765 is much shorter and thus, felt more torquey. Seating position is not as nice as my Street, sitting higher up and on top with the 765, as opposed to into the bike, like my 13' Street.
    Question is, would you just jump to the Speed Triple instead? Not sure if you have ridden the 16' or 17' Speed Triple or not, but if so, would I be better off just jumping up to the 1050? When you look at the stats, the Speed is really not that much heavier, IMO.

      Sorry for the delay and I expect you've made your decision now. Well I've owned a 2012 Speed and I loved it. I'd be interested to ride the current Speed RS as I like how Triumph aren't being drawn into the horsepower arms race and are keeping their 1050 at a much more useable power. The Street 3 is all anyone really needs to be honest, but sometimes it's nice just to have that little bit extra :D

      Adrian Stickels The Triumph dealer in Manchester have some ex press release bikes that I reckon you could barter a good deal on. So long as you don't mind owning a bike that has been spanked straight out of the box by a bunch of journos

    So did you buy a Triumph Street Triple 765rs? I thought you had a Yamaha MT09sp? In your opinion which is best?

      I tested them both back to back, and it was a very very close run thing, but I chose the MT09 SP. It all came down to the better mid range torque and looks of the Yamaha over the better handling and electronics of the Triumph. I chose the former and I've never looked back as I still love my MT every bit as much as the day I picked it up :)

    Wow that was very interesting I am liking what I see here, I remember the old k100 bm's with Polaris screens it''s got more horses than my old XJR liking the way Triumphs have gone with their styling as I have always had Japanese bikes great vid will subscribe now . :) Mal

    I’m planning to replace my GS1200 for this. On my recent 16 hour ride from Singapore to Southern Thailand through torrential rain & realised, the GS is overhyped. It isn’t as comfortable as my Ducati Diavel. Consumption isn’t that much better than e Triumph. The extra luggage space was empty. This would make more sense. The handlebars were buzzing at 190-200 kmh. Please advise. It’s 40% cheaper than the GS not to mention. I’ve been told I’m crazy... help.. I need advice?

      Bigger isn't always better, and since I bought my MT09 SP I've hardly used my very big Triumph Explorer.
      I've always thought thst BMW bikes are over priced and they have many flaws like bad vibrations at motorway speeds.
      However, I don't know how the 765 Triumph will fare on a long journey, as the seating position is more sporty than the GS that's why I always advice people to have a test ride whereever possible just to make sure.
      If you regularly do such long journeys then I'm not sure that the 765 is the best idea, and there are other even cheaper options like the Kawasaki Z900 or similar.
      It's difficult to advise on a complex case such as yours 🤔

      VeeFour thanks sir, most importantly I have to keep moving forward in my riding journey & keep getting better & Make the best of my situation. Adding to that my gear (Klim Carlsbad jacket) back armor tore without even a drop & it’s water proof pockets didn’t keep the contents dry ( thankfully I didn’t gamble with my passport- Ziplock bag is the way to go) My Klim Pro Carbon helmet though light & great transition lens is as hot as an oven, I was perspiring like a dog ) live & learn 🤦‍♂️🙏🏼

    Hi VF, I had a Hornet 900 for 10 years, I kept saying to my local dealer that I wanted more weather protection he said, no you don't, anyway eventually decided to get a Crossrunner, and do you know what, he was right, I wish I hadn't sold that bike it was a real hooligan and similar in some ways to the ST. I now have a Tiger which is OK but a bit soulless, so perhaps I might have a go on the ST to see if it brings back that magic!

      I'm kind of with you on this. I didn't so much hate the looks of the previous generation Street, but it's looks were not it's strong suit. Now though, I feel like Triumph have made a big improvement in the aesthetics for both the Street and the Speed, and they are snazzy looking bikes now.

    Veefour hi , did you find the street triple rs small ? are you a tall guy? , i am looking to get one i am 6ft 3 , i have sat on one and it felt great , a few friends have said i am too tall for the bike , it would be great to get your feed back on that

      Reclaim Finance Well I'm over 6'1" and to be honest i find most bikes small. However, it doesn't affect my enjoyment of bikes and it doesn't adversely effect how well I can ride them. It's only when you see your reflection in a shop window that yiu realised that you look big on a bike, but so long as it feels good t9 ride, who cares. I'm quite broad across the chest and shoulders, and in my race leathers I look as though I'm on a mini bike when I'm on my R1, but that doesn't stop me thrashing it around Donnington Park in the fast group. So if it feels good under you then it's fine

    i have 2019 Triumph Street Triple R and it is the best bike i have ever ridden everything is so easy on it, but it is so easy that sometimes you need something more after time, i don´t mean power, but just like... character. All these new motorcycles are so easy to ride

      Thanks. Like I said in the vid, without much up front the wind hitting you is very smooth, and I personally prefer a 70mph smooth wind hitting me from waist to helmet equally, than no wind hitting my body but a rough buffeting wind hitting my visor for hours on end like you get when you fit after market screens.
      I grew up on naked bikes, and personally I quite like feeling the wind around me as for me it's all part of the biker experience.
      I certainly wouldn't have any issues with riding this bike all day on a Freeway, she's a winner.

    Another great in depth review. I own a new Thruxton and love it. Triumph makes a great bike. But as you said, the headlights kind of turn me off on the triples. Also, wish cruise was available on the Thruxton. The Bonnies have it, why not the Thruxton?

    I can see the point of 200 BHP 1 litre sports bikes, on the track ! Otherwise can you really use them on the road legally and safely ?

    The view from the camera shows the clutch cable right in the line of view to the dash.
    Is this the same in person or is it just camera angle?

      J RC My camera is mounted quite low below my chin bar, so that cable isn't covering the dash from the riders eye line 👍

    Can i ask You about favorite . Frankly speaking i prefer yours review and Don't what to bay .. Considering 3 Bikes : Street triple R , MT-09 SP ! Z-900. Can You descriwe wich whone is good and bad sides .. ?

      Well I've never ridden the Z900 but I'm sure it's a great bike. Between the other two, my obvious favourite is the MT09-SP because I bought one. They are both excellent bikes and the main differences are that the Triumph feels more sporty in both it's handling and engine response, and in my opinion is the best handling of the two. The Yamaha is more comfortable as it has a more upright seating position, and feels a bit like a Supermotard to ride. It's engine has noticably more torque in the mid range and still feels sporty and fast, and compared to the Triumph has a much lighter front end which I find gives the bike a really fun and exciting feeling around the bends. They're both full of character with their triple engines, which the Kawasaki's 4 cyclinder engine won't have.
      My advice is to ride them all and let your heart decide

      I might be too late commenting on this specific discussion here.. i personally thought i will end up with the same dillema z vs RS when i started thinnking of getting my self one.. but oh boy after riding RS for long test drive 60KM, bloody i was sold never wanted to even go to kawa.. for few simple facts that anyday is worth the extra money it asks..
      The light weight of RS, the razor sharp handling, the top spec hardware i can bet my life on, the buttery smooth, most and most important in india is the bad traffic issue.. so freaking awesome heat management by triumph.. i just overall feeling of the mean machine loads of power with light rigid chasis with top spec hardware for your safety.. the 10k kms / 1 year of service interval, do u really need any more pointers here over kawa ???? a true superbike enthu can really make sense of why u pay for the premium parts.. and i am sold never looked back again i know kawa and other 800cc segment bikes can not just offer the top notch quality of RS.. i am sold brother, just booked it 2 days back.. i live in india.. hope this helps u.. if u have ever thought of getting RS, never look back, just never...

    you were annoyed about the cars potentially blocking your upcoming corners but you proceeded to enlarge their radii by going into the opposite lane. Seems you were afraid to lean or get your body off the bike?

      I'm never afraid to lean or get my body off the bike, check out my Instagram for proof of that (or my channel main pic). In this case, this is a road I know very well, and although the wide angled footage doesn't show it, that section of road has a loose and unreliable surface so it is wise not to lean to far until the road dips after the left hander where I know that the surface improves greatly.
      Again the footage doesn't show, but I was able to see over and past those cars deep enough into the next corner that I knew I was able to make the passes in more than enough time to complete the overtake, or stop in the distance that I could see to be clear.

    Which would you choose, Yamaha MT09SP 2020 or Triumph Street RS 2020 cannot decide.

      I had the very same dilemma back in 2018, and the SP won out by a very narrow margin based on the more torquey feeling yamaha engine and better (in my opinion) looks.
      The 2021 MT09 is improved even further with its all new chassis and full imu, however I can't stand the look of that head light unit and I don't think I could live with it. So making the choice again, I might go with the Triumph, but I would have to look into reports of TFT dash failures and build quality issues since they moved production from the UK to Thailand🤔

      Thanks. By my reckoning Triumph owe me a fair bit of commision.
      The lack of uploads is mainly down to me having to deal with a long term health issue, that I'm happy to say is now all fixed,. That and no one is offering me any test rides, because if I want to ride a bike I basically have to blag the dealership that I'm a prospective customer, which doesn't sit well with me.

    love the street triple it's a great all around bike you can do pretty much everything with it. The R1's are really bad with the throttle you need to have it tuned or flashed to get a near perfect throttle they are notorious for that and the riding position is terrible for the street it's more of a track friendly bike.
    I really hope that Triumph makes the Daytona in the 765 range it would be a brutal bike and judging by the older model bikes compared to the street triple the new Daytona would probably end up with 145-150 bhp with about 380 ish pounds.
    Looking at your riding on that back roads, would you say that it seems to be just as fast as the last gen Daytona? It seems to be very close har to say on video.
    They make 3 models the S,R and RS as for people bellow 5'8 they have a lower seat option. This bike is expensive for a beginner rider looking to learn on but getting the S or R version are good options to save some coin. iI's a perfect bike to start on and getting the RS gets you pretty much all you need to make you a better rider and you can easily go from beginner to track rider on the same bike ( The RS has all the track goodies you need ) so no need to start on useless 300cc-500cc bikes ( costing 3000-6000K sell it for 1500-3000K because the market is saturated with them) and end up changing bikes every year to make you way up to 600c-1000cc class and waste you hard earned money.

      Thanks. I agree with the R1 throttle, it's not to bad in power setting 4 but the whole fuelling is a compromise to meet Euro 4 regs alas, get it flashed and it's great apparently. I to really REALLY hope Triumph make the 765 Daytona as that will be such a gooooooood bike! Lets hope the engines shines this year in Moto2 and generates a market for Triumph to fill, as that would be the perfect sports bike for roads and track 👍👍🤞🤞🤞

      @@VeeFour exactly my race 675 versions have 145 RWHP they are beasts and with all the track mods done, the bikes have lost close to 40 pounds so it's fast very fast the torque is so good ( 80 lbs at the wheel ) imagine that on 100cc more and with mods and tuning on top of that and the bike would rival 900cc bikes for sure but with the nimbleness of a 600. I'm keeping an eye on triumph and dream of getting my hands on a new version for my 600cc class track series. I'm very lucky I race pro with bmw's in the 1000cc class and triumph for 600cc class so this year and maybe next year are going to be very exiting. 2019 and 2020 are exiting times for sport bike riders.

    A lot of the 200 BHP bike can be ridden at the speed limit but can be taken on track to use the big power so there is no reason to think you cant have one, every one to their own

      I agree, each to their own indeed. However having owned one, 3 or 4 track days a year isn't worth the troublesome nature of trying to ride an R1 around as a daily rider. Mine ended up as a full time track bike, which was fricken amazing! 😁
