  • Tips & Tricks for the New Driving Physics in GT7 Patch 1.49 // (PSVR2) - In this video I will be discussing some tips and tricks on controlling your car with the new driving physics introduced in Gran Turismo 7 that came with patch 1.49. The cars handle differently now and rely more on trail braking correctly and knowing how it effects the cars weight distribution along with downshifting correctly. In this video I raced on PSVR2 as always! It is the best way to play GT7 and always recommend people pick up the headset for the best racing experience you can get at home!

    love the physics now, it's in the details, but it's very different if you're pushing it hard, especially on comfort tyres, cars feel very very real

    More need to see, and practice your advice, and I'm not just talking about VR drivers..it'd make for a lot cleaner races!
    I'm really liking the new physics..feels a lot more like what I remember from the track IRL. Car goes over a rise, gets light, loses grip, regains grip, or going into a turn, maybe get a little understeer, let off the gas a bit, car hooks up, rotates, and on you go. Feels pretty good!
    Great video!

    8:07 Really don't think you told me anything I didn't already know, but this was a great consise video reminding me of all the things I really need to focus on. New sud from me and keep up the good work. I think this is the first I've seen of you. Love to accent too lol, no homo... I had just made it to DR A on two accounts before the update and I'm barely B now fs. Saving my other A for when I get more user to the new way of things

    Loving your channel! I appreciate your mellow perspective to racing...on controller I like most racers "i wanna weein" (in a Nacho Libre voice). However, I believe I'll have a hard climb translating my controller skill to sim racing. I would love to see a video that explains trail braking on a sim rig. Any directions would be appreciated.

    • @thecasualracinggamer
      @thecasualracinggamer  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      There are much better sim racers who have videos explaining proper trail braking techniques than I can do. In short, it's basically braking hard in a straight line as you are approaching an apex/turn. All weight is transferring to your front tires at this point. Then as you get closer you slowly start lifting off your brakes to where you are off them at the time you have reached the Apex and start turning in. As you are releasing the brakes, weight is transferring to the back tires, evening out the weight distribution.

    • @Leo.SKDXL05
      @Leo.SKDXL05 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @thecasualracinggamer appreciate your simple explanation... I honestly believe most (including me) have practiced trail braking without realizing it. However, now I can focus on a more deliberate execution of this technique in order to improve on my overall racing. 👊

    The psvr2 sale made me a proper racer, so I love this game even more now! That said, it’s far easier to perceive the weight transfer in vr because u see and feel the car rock forward or backward. I’m not faster yet, but I’ve got far better car control in vr. Managing weight transfer is definitely the key to success with these new physics. Thanks for the tips!

    Only issue with breaking early is when you have someone really close up in your case and you catch them by surprise and they go right into you.
    I get this a lot based on VR, car, and ABS weak settings where I break about 5% earlier. (Especially painful in this week's Bathurst race)

    • @thecasualracinggamer
      @thecasualracinggamer  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      If they are close, don't catch them by surprise. Start gradually slowing down early instead of a sudden hard brake. If they go to switch lanes, don't block only to slam on your brakes. Lots of times, they will overshoot the turn, trying to overtake, and if you take it slow, you will get a much better run out then them.

    lol it’s always like you’re describing real driving! It’s all about getting the weight correct across the rectangle of the car. And steering input should be as minimal as possible

    • @thecasualracinggamer
      @thecasualracinggamer  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yeah, but these aren't things that people think about when driving to work, LOL. Plus, with the old physics, they didn't stress these techniques as much as now.

    Has anything changed with your t-gt2 with this update? I've just got the wheel for gt7 and where the ffb feels good, the vibration from the t-dfb is pretty weak.

      The transducer vibrations might feel a little lighter. Have gotten a lot of comments about that, but overall, the wheel does feel great.

      I know everyone likes GR 3 & 4 races but there are some cars that will make for good racing like the Miata touring car the civic touring car the Porsche 993 95 is a touring car. Will you be opposed to making a strategy endurance race using any one of those cars in shorter circuits like the short Red Bull ring?

    • @thecasualracinggamer
      @thecasualracinggamer  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's seems like it might have lightened up a little bit, but after playing iRacing yesterday and then hopping on to GT7, it was definitely still noticeable. But yeah, when shifting gears, the pedals and shifters don't feel like they pop as hard.

      There is more road textures etc there now so other feedbacks will be less prominent. It depends what data the tgtii is fed, I have SIMHUB connected with base shakers which read the same data and there is definitely more road texture, contours etc in the data than before.

    • @thecasualracinggamer
      @thecasualracinggamer  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Just to note, my comment was directed only at the vibrations from the transducer. The wheel itself is alive more than ever.

      Not sure. Haven't raced the street cars. I did notice a little wobble in the Go Karts though at high speeds. Don't remember if it was like that before the update.
