I've got countless examples of dirty racing. It is abundant unless you're A or A+. I'm still in B. So it's a crap shoot wether or not you get through a race. Literally have guys that will just push you off track. Get beside you and hit you repeatedly until you go off. Other times you get a good exit. So you start to pass them. As you get next to them they just hit you off. It's more than frustrating. It simply shouldn't be a thing. GT7 should absolutely create a penalty system that makes this kind of driving extremely inadvantageous. Make it to where you get penalized to a point where the only people left for dirty drivers to rave against is other dirty drivers.
Disadvantageous is the word you're looking for there. Agree with your sentiments.

Personally, I think you were too far back to make a move and so he took the racing line. Love you and your vids, but i don't think you've any complaints here.
Yeah I watched it a couple of times, even at slow speed, and I feel the same. I’m also an admirer of Rory’s talent and content, but I don’t think the move was really on there and I think the other driver had the right to the racing line. The weaving on the straight though was not ok of course. Btw, Rory on 0.5 speed is hilarious 😂

I disagree. Arc was way too early on the brakes. Rory braked a lot earlier than the lap before (compare the distance to the marshall in blue) and still got alongside. And even if it was a divebomb, you are still not allowed to move under braking, which Arc did. So, in my opinion Rory has every right to complain.
@@coollaadose Hmm, had to look back one more time in slow speed. It's hard to tell when you haven't got the onboard from Arc, but it looks as if he was off the brakes before he started turning in, in my opinion. Either way, when a driver is showing such clear signs of being ready to stretch the boundaries of the rule book, maybe dive bombing them isn't the best choice, it's almost certainly going to end up like this. If Arc braked too early and compromised his corner speed, it would have been better to go around the outside, and have the inside for the next corner. Of course, he could've just as well pushed Rory off track into the wall between this and the next corner, but that would have been a lot more clear cut than this I think.
@@LongEarthTradingCompany 'Moving under braking' includes all the way up to the apex... Otherwise you could always crash out other people as long as you let go off the brake for the split-second you move into their way :D So, it doesn't really matter if he lifted off the brake 1 mile before the apex or not^^

- Or maybe (in my experience most likely) it is the only choice because every 'fair move' gets blocked by reckless driving anyway.
Going around the outside was also not an option bc Arc was initially on the outside and moved towards the inside AFTER Rory decided to go for the inside.
Looking at this one objectively.
He moves on the braking to cut you off, but the normal line is to move on the braking and trail brake thru the corner. Its also a pretty narrow line over the curb normally.
Youre not alongside not even close to an overlap before youre both braking. Hard to tell if youd have made the apex without hitting him even if he left a car width.
That being said, he goes in even more narrow than usual. Plus earlier in the race we see him push to pass, plus all the weaving on the straight. Combine all that with his history too.
Verdict, not the greatest attacking move but not a great defense either. You probably wouldve gotten the overlap if he wasnt weaving so thats his fault to me.
I agree but I would say a good defense is not to out brake someone but to force him into an uncomfortable line, position and exit. I think in that aspect he did well. On the weaving aspect as a rule in real racing was enforced for safety reasons which obviously aren't there in a game so I think we shouldn't mind it I would although expect that someone doesn't move under braking simply because that could cause a collision and than ruin the fun for everyone. Since you had to go on the history of the driver we should consider rory's history too, countless videos of him calling out for dirty moves that simply aren't there so in my opinion is a wash.

P3 didn’t move erratically nor did he go unnecessarily slow, as the rule states ;) I’d bet after a thorough investigation Rory would be penalized

It seems like other players forget about racing etiquette when under pressure. You can't sideswipe someone when they're next to or passing you.
This isn't a fancy dinner who cares about etiquette.......you don't win or advance by playing nice and not defending your position...
This is not just arc, but many other aswell. Its sad to see that this type of behavior is not penalized more. Great driving, sad to see a good race destroyed by that guy.
Is there a ghost mode in gt7? When your car becomes invisible when other drivers comes near you in a race. The ghost mode doesn't allow you or other drivers to make contact with each other. This makes it impossible for idiots to benefit from their dirty driving.

So you think this is a dirty? You merely adopted the dirty driver. As a GTA Online player, I was born amongst the dirty drivers, molded by them. I didn't see a clean race until I was already a man, by then the etiquette was nothing to me but blinding.

You'd like to think the fact arc couldn't decide on 1 line into the corner negates any " dive-depth " - Rory a better gentleman than i, arcs getting driven straight ahead into the wall if that was me
It might look like it from a first watch but in fact Rorys braking point was a lot earlier than the lap before and he still catched up to Arc. Meaning, Arc was waaaay too early on the brake enabling a move from that far back.
@@coollaadose as alonso would say, art of defending. I think when you defend you want to make sure you have better exit and the follower has a compromised corner speed and line. Of course the waving was too extreme but yet again it's a game and not rl so I don't mind it since it is a rule that was enforced originally for safety reasons.
You're not the only one - these kinds of lunges is what ruins the game.
GT7 is an extremely well built game with regards to its graphics and the technology involved, but their efforts to separate those who take their online racing seriously, from those who are just playing a cool driving game on a PS5, are where the problem lies.
The whole ghosting idea is very poorly thought out and will never work in the way that they intend for it to. The ghosting should be completely removed for realistic racing purposes and replaced with a rock solid penalty system, though the penalty algorithms need quite a bit of work before they can be considered workable.
I have learnt to give BETTER than I get! I now just switch into "DEMOLITION DERBY MODE" and after a few solid months of refining my tactics I am having quite the success 🎉😂
The most difficult part is the psychological switch from "PROFESSIONAL RACER" to "GRIM REAPER MODE", but it gets smoother with time 🙌👏👏👏

I so wish that Polyphony could fix the BOP problem so that people can use different types of cars. It bothers me so much to see and be in races when everyone is in the same car. I also think that the one's that always use the meta car are afraid of competition. That's just my opinion.
We have had the Buggati and the Lancer one week, then Citroën being the most viable option and now the alfa 155? Sounds like the BOP is great. Different cars are strong at different tracks.

I don't have a lot of online racing experience but have been racing GT since 1999. I started out on Gran Turismo 2 back in the day. But with GT7, I found that I like the online racing quite a bit, but I'm worried about being too aggressive.

Happens to me all the time on Forza lol especially when you start in the back. People really don’t seem to like getting passed, doesnt matter what position their in either just how dare you be faster than them 🤷🏻♂️🤣. The worst part is ever since they updated the penalty system I’ve been getting bigger penalties for getting taken out and it being called “avoidable” collision 🤡. So now I can’t start in the back anymore without having my safety rating drop like a stone 🙃.

The driving language was there so the early turn-in blocking move was not unexpected, but you weren't really committed enough to get alongside and take the corner. Had they held their line a little longer and avoided contact I still doubt you'd have been able to stay ahead through the next two bends.
Not even along side the driver in front and rams them from a lunging position, at best.

I looked to see who was up ahead of you at the start and thought, GT Arc will be the one with the incident. He has a poor reputation. Saw him brake check Gallo recently that caused Gallo to crash out

Why is there no rearview mirror on bonnet cam ?? when its available on bumper cam,, it should be an option at least.. once somone has started for the apex and was clear ahead they arnt looking behind for a divebomb move on them that they would have to avoid contact and turn away from their line. The lead car dictates the line . On bumper cam you might see this from behind on screen without pressing rear view. This is a typical online racing incident but in my opinion and advice to sim racers is dontt dive bomb into the leading cars entry. Remember you can see forwards all the time but they probably wont see the blockpass coming so theres no point getting arsey about something you caused.

Despite being a fan of yours, I have to say that I think you were in the wrong on this one. I've played it back several times at 0.25x and when you're passing the last Maggiore board on the right of the track your front bumper is only just in front of his rear bumper and is still behind his rear tyre. When he starts turning in, your front bumper is just about level with his rear tyre and the point of first contact is when your front bumper is level with about the middle of his rear door. To me, that's not enough to be able to claim you were alongside, so you should have backed out.
Having said that, I do have to wonder why he turned in at that point -- he might have been better off leaving it a few metres but, whatever the reason, he did have the right to do so.

Penalty system in GT7 is an absolute joke
This Arc character is a true scumbag. On any real racetrack all over the world his weaving on the straights would have been penalised immediately!
But, unfortunately this has become the norm in GT7 sports mode lobbies.
On monday, I actually tried a daily C. I qualified 2nd,but P1 was holding me up, so I pitted after l1. I quickly caught up to a back marker, who went off in the first righthander on his own and rammed into my left side while he was unsafely returning to the track. He somehow felt wronged by me and rammed me into the wall on the other side of the next major breaking zone, turning me around and giving me damage all around my car. My race was ruined. And he quit after running off track in the first righthander on his own, AGAIN! 🤦🏼♂️

If you were level then I’d agree he turned in on you, but in this case he didn’t do anything wrong.
The game should give penalty when weaving like that only 1 move of you want to break slipstream then you have to keep your position
Just some honest feedback here Rory: I don't think there was anything wrong with what he did. You did a very similar thing to someone else the other day and you said it was their fault because they should have backed out.

There's probably some bad blood between Arc and Rory. I remember a while back Rory brought up on stream a race where Arc was involved in an incident. Arc was in second place and another guy in 1st. The other guy was swerving quite alot in front of Arc, and when Arc came up along side the other guy, the other guy hit Arc from the side. Arc turned back into the other guy, and that caused other guy to lose control and went off the track.
So Rory shows this incident on stream, and only critices Arc, and the whole stream turns against Arc and starts ranting and trying to lecture him (some in a mocking way). Did it ever occur to you that considering how the other guy was driving irratically maybe Arc thought he was crashing into him intentionally? Maybe it was a natural reaction then for Arc to turn back into the other guy to defend himself? I doubt he intended to driver the other guy off the track.
And then the very next race there was a situation almost identical to this video, where Rory came from behind into a corner and Arc turned into him, and of course again Arc was blamed. In this situation he might have done it intentionally, because I can imagine he was tilted from getting called out on stream in front of a thousand people.
I don't know if this is how Arc generally drives, it's just my observations and thoughts. But you can't be surprised if someone gets a bit pissed off if a streamer brings them up on stream and analyze an incident in such a one-sided way.
Arc takes it personally when he gets passed and is a generally nasty driver. There's a ton of evidence of his dirty driving, and not just from Rory's videos.

Not exactly. There’s “defending”, and then there’s moving in the braking zone AFTER he sees that he’s about to be overtaken cleanly. Those are two different things. One isn’t a penalty in F1, and one is.
@@re14437 I'd definitely call avoidable contact here, way too early turn-in and unnecessary weaving. I think Rory could have refrained from following the weaving to carry a bit more speed and get alongside into the braking zone to avoid getting chopped.
