    where do you connect the power for 2nd camera. does it have a trigger wire for the 2nd camera.

      The signal plugs into the video input RCA out of the back of the radio. You have to go into AV settings and turn it on and select camera from the drop down. There is not trigger, you just turn it on from the source menu. Thanks for watching

    How is the Front Camera powered?

    I have the Pioneer 4200NEX. I already have a rear view camera hooked up. I also have a dash cam that I just purchased that has a mini HDMI out that I would like to hook up as a front view video camera source that I would like to be able to display on the screen to get a bigger picture. I know that I would need a mini HDMI cable to RCA cable to hook up as my 2nd video source. What I don't know is do I need a converter to turn the digital signal into an analog signal for the dash cam to be viewed as a 2nd source video, or does the 4200NEX automatically decode the signal as to where I don't need a separate converter box? Most converters require a separate power source and I am about out of them. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

      Andre M that is a great question! We just tested it on the bench and well kind of. If you select the camera ( front) put it in reverse and put it back in drive. The front camera will come back on after 10 seconds. So it will do it but not in a timely fashion. Thank you

    Hello, I have a AVH1500NEX & I have the back up camera to the input made for backup cameras. It works when it goes in reverse but when I click the rectangle button where it goes to “video” it does not show the rear camera when I’m driving. How can I fix this? (Cameras wired to the reverse lights for its power). Thanks!!

      Yes in camera settings for camera 2. So if you get a mirrored view camera and mouth it to the front you can go into the menu and fix it.

    Hey Guys I have a THor Challenger 35HT RV with an existing Jensen JRV2i2T head unit...The unit has inputs for 3 cameras(Voyager), 1 camera on each side view mirror and I backup camera. When I turn on the left or right blinker the camera will power up and give me a view. I also can select any camera without using the blinkers, I can select from the display.
    I want to upgrade to a Pioneer 8100NEX but do not want to loose the functionality of the cameras. Can this be done with this head unit?
    What would I need to connect, Switch???

      You plug it into the av input- select front camera on in the camera setup menu- in the source drop down select camera - in the bottom right of the screen there is a 1-2 icon. Tap the icon to switch between the camera feeds. There is no external trigger for the front camera

      Nav-tv sells a Flir camera for the car but it is not cheap. Most good cameras are 1 lux and switch to a low color or black and white at night. 1 lux is nice because your reverse lights make it nice and bright. We use the Pac-audio cameras in most of our installs and have no complaints.

      A few more question s (wish you guys were in LA):
      - What kind of events can you use to trigger the cam
      - Can you basically look at both cams at anytime with this head unit by entering into a certain screen?
      - If I bought this head unit and the PAC VS 41, and explain what I want, the installer should know how to install it, right?

    Can you confirm that this works with an 8000nex running 1.11 firmware? I can see the image from the camera in the Picture Adjustment menu, but the Camera option does not show up on the drop down list. I have the AV input set to camera. I have the parking wire grounded, but your's must be grounded when you are running from the bench, right? Thanks for your help.

      Thanks for replying. It now longer works, at least on my 8000nex running 1.11. The AUX input does support video, and it shows up in the input list drop down menu. So that's a work around.

    Had this 8100 NEX installed on 2015 Honda FIT, installers have no idea how to preserve my right lane camera, it is attached to passenger side mirror and activated on original HU with a push of a button on end of turn signal stalk on when right turn signal activated. Any ideas on how to get that capability on the 8100NEX unit???

    • @FiveStarCarStereoInc
      @FiveStarCarStereoInc  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      You could feed it into the front camera input, but the only way to turn it on is from the screen. There is no external trigger for that camera input. Or flip them and use the reverse trigger to turn it on and manually turn on the rear camera. That about all I got, good luck. Let me know how it goes.

      You ever get this figured out? I want to put the 4100nex on my 2015 Fit, but I'm concerned with losing my Lanewatch functionality.

    • @barrygibbons1
      @barrygibbons1 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Justin Hall Not yet, need wiring diagram for Honda that has this feature so to differentiate which wires go where as all plugs were proprietary to Honda.

    • @JustinHall1976
      @JustinHall1976 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Richard Gibbons it looks like Metra has some kits for late model Civics that retain the function, but I suspect to get this working on our Fit the installer would have to tap the long and use Manual programming wired to the button press and the initiation of the right turn signal. In short, the installer will have to be really creative. I'll keep researching. If I find a solution, I'll pass it on.

    • @JustinHall1976
      @JustinHall1976 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kaleem Chaudhry wait, you can't retain the REAR camera, either? I thought that was easy to configure.

    Just installed a 4100NEX to 2008 Toyota Tundra, and cannot get the reverse camera image to appear on the screen from the (brown) camera port.-Reverse gear wired correctly - when in reverse screen image black with guidelines.-Power to cam wired from reverse lights wired correctly - getting proper voltage from multimeter; and signal from 15' (Yellow) AV wire.-Camera displays image on screen when wired to the (yellow) second cam port (had to use a different power source, since no reverse light at test).IS THERE SOMETHING WRONG WITH MY UNIT? Patrick this " clown" does know what he is talking about. There is no built in feature to view both front and rear camera at the same time on the screen. That is not to say someone does not make an add on part to do this, it is just not built in.
