I constantly see a back and forth about Bargain, whether it should be 50%, anything between 50 and 95%, or 100%. And since I voice my opinion let me explain my thought process. The main game is the story mode and after that it can continue in 2 ways: A) You take what you achieved, the game becomes harder and more expensive, and you see how far your run takes you. B) You turn on Sandbox mode (not literally, but close to it) and people can try out whatever they want to do. And I assume this is where the big conflict comes from. My take on this is that forcing A is not a good choice, simply because many builds are locked behind free costs, e.g. many runs we did that were a ton of fun (and combined made up 90% of my playtime) simply wouldn't be possible anymore. Let's say you want a run with 250 waterguns and push them in, or whatever it is, you can't do that anymore. So my suggestion on the Discord was that there is an Arcade mode or whatever you wanna call it, one that returns 20 Bargains. You still gotta work for them to keep it interesting, but it is available again. The interesting part is that you can still figure out just how far a build can go in a best case scenario. And the normal mode will stay as it is and once you go Endless, you test the skill and luck involved to make your build and see how far it gets. That way both A and B would be possible and happy. But excluding B is in my opinion not a good choice from any perspective.
To be honest, I think the game is just poorly balanced from both me playing it myself and watching you play it. It is fun, at least to watch, but there are a lot of items that normally would be one-use effects that you can just get again and again, while there are other items where they feel like they should be usable repeatedly but instead are one-use. Personally, I don't mind them removing bargain 20, but I feel like they should have reduced the scaling when they did so
maybe they'll add a character whose gimmick is they're twins, whose keychain doubles EVERYTHING, so 2x item power, 2x limits, enemies attack 2x more times, block 2x, etc.
Very glade some people have this mindset. I'm also very tired of game dev "balancing" solo player game like it was something you have to do, even if it ruin all the fun... I'm ok with a main chalenge being balanced obviously, but here, in endless that's far away from the main challenge. And indeed, player that dont like it can simply not take it, no need to force this choice to everybody. So thanks a lot Mothaniel for this take, I hope a lot of people will hear it and that some game dev that to understand
The Gold was around 200 per stage IIRC, compared to the 1500-2000g we got from the income it wasn't worth it to risk losing the game (that's the reason I removed them, it made it hard to grab out)
@@DexTag Yeah, that was the right call. 10% more gold isn't worth the risk and loss in damage potential. Maybe you could have kept the hands a bit longer, but it would have been minor. Your main problem after that was just a lack of gold daggers - more would mean more getting magnetized every turn and more getting in the chute. Also, I think getting rid of the 2nd magnet was a mistake. You were barely getting any more clumps after that.
I hope they un-limit Bargain. Honestly, it doesn't matter if you reach 100% discount. If anything Bargain is too weak. Pre-Endless, a 5% discount is pretty weak when compared to some of the moderately strong perks. Limiting it to 10 makes it cap at 50% which does literally nothing by the time you're able to reach all 10, because 50% of the infinity price scaling is still infinitely more money then you can obtain. Bargain was perfectly fine at 100% discount because obtaining 20 bargains was something you could only do if your build was already absolutely insane and going to the moon. If they really want Bargain to cap at 50%, then Bargain should be a limit 1 or 2 perk that gives 50% discount or 25% discount, so it at least has a significant immediate impact in non-endless mode.
I believe the savings account is giving 100 and then x400%, so 500 gold per savings account. Just like the monsters 1 gold is actually 5 gold. Because at 23:25 you have 2 savings accounts and got 1000 gold. You figured it out in the video as I watched lol

I do think bargain shouldve been less powerfull, but instead make the discount less and less. Something like discount = 1×0.95^{piggy banks} That way it never becomes free but you can keep up with the prices increasing exponentially
The problem is that everything in the game exponentially increases, so even if you put it to a maximum of 99.99% you'll still rather quickly run into issues that you can't pay for anything. Like e.g. to get the exact things you want, you sometimes have to roll 50-200 times, even if it starts at 1 that's gonna end up on more than what you'd ever earn
@@DexTag I don't think that's really a problem. Yes, it's called "endless", but the game still wants it to end. If you can literally go infinite, then there's no point to doing it. It's not a challenge and "having the highest score" just means you had more time to waste, not a better strategy. There's nothing to pride yourself in when getting that high score. And having everything cost 0 is one factor that helps players potentially go infinite. Even if the costs stayed cheap, it would be the same problem as being 0. It has to (eventually) out-scale any kind of ridiculous money gain you can set up to prevent infinite purchasing.
@@KuroroSama42 the limit is that not every build can keep up with the growth of the enemies, or rather no build can. The exponential scaling of the enemies will always call an end to it. But you were able to go for any build, not just builds that try to go the furthest, but whatever you have on your mind can be done. This is no longer possible unless you reset fights
That was a solid run Dex and 100% enough to show the broken potential of this. Maybe try with the guy with magnet claw next time, you could still get 400% bonus gold 😮
I just noticed that Golden Armor behavior was tweaked a little: HP is now updated at the beginning of each encounter. Previously it would update your HP mid-battle based on current HP.

hey @dex, with this style of game when you get to the point of droppoing the gloves, try to have a parana so when you drop the gloves, the fishy can help delete the extra fluff making it a bit easier. just a thought.
Guys guess what, this is the 69th comment (also i dont understand why they limited bargain because it barely does anything early game, it takes so long to even get to 50%, the game has scaled so much it's barely even worth it.)
The reason why the savings account gave way more money than usual is beacause it got multiplied with the 500% multiplier Edit: lol he realized right After i posted this
Non metal magnet is great so they dont stick to eachother directly and shouldn't cause so many problems with one magnet pulling the other magnet away from the exit
Non-metal hand of midas is a downgrade. When it's metal, it gets pulled by the magnets more and moves around to affect more fluff. And it getting pulled out doesn't really matter, since it has already done its job. If you had more fluff and/or fluff were appearing on later turns, then you'd want the hand sticking around to catch the new fluff, but you didn't have that happening.
Imo bargain should be unlimited but multiplicative. So the first one reduces it to 95%, then the second one reduces that by 5% (to 90.25%). Although then by the 20th one you're still at around 36%, so maybe it should be a slightly bigger discount.
It still doesn't make any sense in endless mode, with how costs scale. By super late game, it needs to be free or you wouldn't be able to afford anything.
Not really, look at the scaling of the enemies. At best thats a few floors but with fights that will take ages. Like the fights already started taking a couple of minutes to get through a boss, but in a few floors they would have so much HP that you easily spend 30 minutes on it and you have to pick up the things in time. I don't see a reason to minmax that
The paws are very fun now and all but I think they should nerf them real hard cause they trivialize the game so much, instead of them giving 100% of the thing their character does they should give a small bonus, like these being maybe 25% or so instead of 100%
Why are you skipping perk rooms?! The whole reason I'm here to watch is to see you break the game. What's the point of watching if you're gonna skip out on breaking the game?
