That colour looks very much like the argent silver that was used as an accent on some cars in the 60s and 70s. I have a set of 15 inch Virgo alloys on the old Volvo wagon. I will be doing this to those wheels at some point. The factory grey is looking a bit tired, but easily forgiven when you figure the wheels are nearing 40 years old on a car that is almost 32 years old. Great inspiration.
Vinegar and salt water in a garden sprayer and target the stalk of the plant specifically. Don't overspray or you'll kill your grass. Rinse out the sprayer when your done. Works great on vines and stickers here in the south...
My ‘83 MB 300D had silver wheels, and I refinished those myself- they came out great. Like you, black wheels aren’t my thing, but I always loved those gold BBS wheels they used on BMW’s back in the 80’s/90s.
Recommendation: set up a couple of saw horses topped with a plank. Set the tire on the plank. Now the tire is upright and the spray can is upright so you will get all the paint and avoid bending over. Just roll the wheel along the plank to easily cover all the nooks and crannies. Save your back and get better coverage!
DUDE! Iam with you on this one, I come from the 60s,70s,80s chrome and other elements that helps define and accentuate a car's features, I can do a black wheel with like chrome rivets, but yeah you hit the nail on the head on this one.
I'm with you on the black wheels. Especially since you can order a Chrysler mini van with the Midnight/Murdered package in all black with black trim and black wheels, it's no longer edgy or cool!!!

So I’d like to support you channel more, but currently my Amazon smiles goto the pibble rescue we got our derp from. So I love you 100% my loyalty has to stay with animal rescue. Patreon? Back injuries are no joke. I've had herniated discs in my lower back since I was 29 after being rear ended by 2 cars at a crosswalk. Take a break for a few weeks ,or if you can't, take many many small breaks in-between your project.

I bought some 22’s this past weekend for a good deal except they’re black and the car is also black. But I currently have 20” AMG s63 wheels on my s550 (gray alloy) and only wanted larger. Never another color. And you’re the only TH-camr that covered my exact situation. So now i’m off to accomplish this task with confidence. It’s great that the wheels are off the car already. Out of my surviving friends, only one guy likes gray an at least 10 people more stated black. So I’m guessing it’s not played out but it’s most definitely not my style. NEVER!!! Maybe if I owned a new colorful Ferrari or Lamborghini, I’ll try it. But as today stands, ohhhh nooooo 🤨
Same here exception was the 2014 CS mustang on my T-Bird, they have silver highlights on each spoke. Definitely dislike brake dust Gray, they're always dirty looking.
This will seem age related since I'm almost twice your age, but I agree completely. The only set of black wheels(gloss steel) I have ever owned was in the late 90's on a matte tan off-road truck with white letter tires. Other than that, nope to black!!
The only black wheels I have had were on a base 72 Dodge Dart in poverty spec, dog dish hubcaps and all. It was so poverty spec there was no factory radio, no power steering, unassisted 4 wheel drum brakes, and a foot pump for the windshield washers.
Much better look. good job. I always disliked black. I have had gunmetal on a white car, that looked good. I also had BRONZE colored wheel on an old 70's bmw and that looked great because it reminded me of 70's racecars that ran forged magnesium rims.

These came out most excellent. I personally prefer the slightly darker original '04 ZHP wheels, but these are definitely a nice touch over the gun metal ones you had.

I've always been a fan of silver alloys, especially on a BMW. No chrome or blacked wheels for me.

Have you tried core exercises like planks, I’m up to three minutes twice a week for my ruptured disk.
