Thanks so much for watching. I’m so thankful for the support, I really am. If there’s something you’d like to see me cook, please drop a comment. Have you tried this peeler? If so, what are your thoughts?
@Kirsty Zubrinich - Thanks for the tip, that is very much appreciated that. I guess you can’t expect miracles. I just wanted to see if it could completely remove the job in hand. I think cutting down oversized potatoes would help. Your feedback is much appreciated 🙋🏻♂️😀RTF
@Bella R - thanks for the tip. I actually used these spuds for roasties too. Another bonus when using these for roasties is that it rinses the starch if too! Win win. Thanks for stopping by and supporting my channel, I really appreciate it 🙋🏻♂️😀RTF
We received the peeler AND the Cutter (mandolin) just a few days ago. We're going to try the cutter as I prep this evening to see if it helps with the chares of assembling a salad. Cheers - Always like seeing your content! We also forward your channel and posts to many people who ask us about the TM6.
Lucky you, I still can’t get hold of one! Let me know how it works out if you don’t mind please. Thanks so much for the positive feedback back, it really is well received and I appreciate you taking the time to drop a comment. Lots of TM6 content planned for the channel. Cheers 🙋🏻♂️😀RTF
We used it tonight for "easy peasy" slicing. Tomatoes for my wife to have a "Tomato Sandwich" (An American thing?) AND Carrots, celery, and cucumber for salads (I have a "Crank Panky" - pancreatitis) so salads, and spices are very good for me (Think Indian Cuisine as well). The salad slicing took 20 minutes off prep time👍. The cutter/mandolin worked perfectly. The tomato we cut in half, so a bit of liquid, but a smaller one would have been perfect - Cleanup was easier than anything else on the TM6_@@RichieTheFoodie We will still want to see your review!
@@imthefireguy that all sounds brilliant mate. I’ve seen a few clips on TH-cam. I’m really looking forward to using for sliced potatoes has I really don’t like using a traditional mandolin. It definitely needs the Richiethefoodie seal of approval! Hopefully I’ll have the new kitchen in by the time I get to review it 😀
@salicon911 - thanks pal. I’ll always be honest. I have tried it again a few times and I just don’t think it’s worth it. You’re quicker to peel yourself. Thanks again for your support 🙋🏻♂️😀RTF
We love your style and Thermomix content - We are waiting in anticipation for you to also review the new Thermomix Grater/peeler "Mandolin". Cheers from the Portuguese Azores Sir!
Hello, Sir! May I say thanks for your very kind comment, it means a lot to me. I am also very eager to receiver the new cutter/grater. Unfortunately, it’s not available here in the U.K yet. As soon as it becomes available, you can be assured I’ll be reviewing it here. Thanks for supporting my channel! 🙋🏻♂️😀RTF
@@RichieTheFoodie We were told today that the peeler you re4viewed here is on backorder. The "Mandolin" grater etc. is going to be euro 99 here on Sao Miguel island, and euro 39 for the peeler you reviewed. There is a current promotion for owners of the older TM31 and TM5 to get discounts to upgrade - after that (April?) we may see the mandolin arrive for clients...
@Heather Cameron - Yes, I figured I was really putting it to the test using uneven sized potatoes and fully loaded the machine. In future I’ll use similar sized potatoes. Thanks for stopping by and sharing your feedback back, it’s much appreciated 🙋🏻♂️😀RTF
Thank you Richy, I've been wondering about that. As white and as thick as that water is you're pouring down the drain tells me the grater (located on the peeler), is also grating the potatoes. Which means you're wasting a lot of potato.
Absolutely, it’s certainly drawing a lot of starch from the potato which definitely indicates that. Well, you can literally see that you loose a lot of the potato. Probably this works better with other vegetables but it’s potatoes which I have to peel the most! Thanks for stopping by 🙋🏻♂️😀RTF
@Sarah Foulds - yes you’re right, a few people have mentioned that. I just wanted to launch a load in and see what happened lol. Thanks for watching and stopping by 🙋🏻♂️😀RTF
So yesterday I made galbi-jjim which requires that you make perfect spheres out of daikon radish and carrots. It was wildly time-consuming to do. I think if I got the bits into roughly round shapes then this tool would probably do a great job of finishing them off into perfect roundness.
@Cookin’ With Squirrl - that sounds like a test of patience! Consider buying one, they’re amazing! While you’re here, do you have a good recipe for a Moscow Mule? Cheers. Thanks for stopping by mate 🙋🏻♂️😀RTF
@Vitavet - that’s a good point actually, I might have to try that. It makes a proper mess. To be honest I tried this again after the review using smaller potatoes and reduced the load - I’ve decided that it’s more bother than it’s worth. I do understand why some like it though. Are you considering buying a TM6? Thanks for watching and supporting my channel, it really is much appreciated 🙋🏻♂️😀RTF
@@RichieTheFoodie Actually im going to give my TM5 to my mom and buy myself a TM6. My mom still has her TM31 working, but had some issues with it after 14 years. As she isn’t so much into guided cooking, I decided the TM6 would be an upgrade for me for Christmas. I have Cookidoo but there is such a big difference in technology between TM5 and TM6, i hope its worth the money lol I appreciate your channel, honest reviews, not too complicated cooking, keep up the good work! @Rich in Derbyshire - hi mate. I hope you’re keeping well. Yes, quite possibly, I need time to experiment with it. This was literally the first time I’ve used it 🙋🏻♂️😀RTF
@Bev Brown - I absolutely agree. It means there’s a function on the machine that you literally can’t use without the blade cover. That’s the sous vide mode. If you haven’t sous vide cooked before, it’s epic! 🙋🏻♂️😀RTF
I’ve seen this work on someone else’s channel, and this difference seems to be is that you need to have similar size of potatoes. I think it would work then. Just my guess a ment 😀
Hi Sheila. I have tired similar size potatoes and it was pretty much the same. Maybe a different variety op potato might be different. What alarms me is how much potato is wasted. Also the you can’t load many at a time. I just feel it’s easier to peel them yourself. Thanks for stopping by and sharing 🙋🏻♂️😀RTF
Hi there. A few people have suggested that. I’m going to try that next time. To be honest, I just wanted to throw a load in and see what happened. Thanks for stopping by and sharing your feedback 🙋🏻♂️😀RTF
You put too much in the TM6 Richie, I have one for a few Months now and I found it works better with less and your potatoes was quite big and close to the lid so not giving them much room to move and rotate Mate. Try it with say half the amount next time.
@Andrew Thomas - hi mate. Yes, I kind of figured that I did. This was the first time I used it. I wanted to put it to the ultimate test lol. I thought at the time, I’ve rammed too much in here 😂 Thanks for the tip 🙋🏻♂️😀RTF
the problem you have with the peeler is the size of your potatoes if you had cut them in half they would have worked out a lot better , also so stop all the foam add a tablespoon of oil to the water & it wont foam up as bad as it did in the video
@Aussie Wheels - a few people have made that point 😀 I have persisted with this with smaller potatoes/ less load etc. I still don’t think it’s up too much if I’m being honest. Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment, much appreciated 🙋🏻♂️😀RTF
I was so disappointed with the amount of potato lost - I'm not sure it's the accessory for me. Takes 8-12 minutes to do a 3-4 minute job by hand. I love my TM6, but it's not a replacement for everything!
@Charlie Morton - I was actually quite surprised at that, too. It’s almost like they shrink. Regarding the 8-12 minutes peeling time, I agree but I thought I could be getting on with other stuff while Phil is peeling my spuds 👍🏻. Thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts, Charlie 🙋🏻♂️😀RTF

You are supposed to put them through the hole in the lid, to make sure that none are bigger than the hole.
