You may think it is stupid, but the jury and judge all have inherent biases. The goal for the defendant in most cases is to create an image that will appeal to the judge and jury; The impression that excessive piercings create on many people is one of irresponsibility and unprofessionalism especially in a courtroom setting. Likewise ill fitting clothes create an unprofessional image, buying(or borrowing) a nice shirt and nice pants/skirt that fit are definitely in the interests of the defendant if they place importance on winning their case. And manbuns are a similar case to piercings, as in they are seen as unprofessional by many potential judges/jurors. Often a defendant with piercings will remove or tone them down if possible, a defendant lacking a suit will borrow one, and a male defendant with long hair will have it cut. The court is a formal and conservative place where the judges and jurors form opinions based on the defendant's presentation and where those opinions can influence the outcome of the case.

@@serg21mon58 I absolutely agree but I think it’s also important to notice that subconscious biases exist. While we should definitely work to break them down, there is no denying the existence.
@@Possibly_Olivia yea I’ve been in jail an they’ll actually loan a guy a suit if he’s going to trial an has none of his own appearances do matter ik but it’s ridiculous how what you wear an how u look could determine whether they find you guilty or not
@@serg21mon58 Yeah that’s just straight up wrong imo
Is it really justice if what I wear affects the outcome?
Bro court is a professional place at least try to look presentable for once. Do you go to work with a wife beaters and shorts? Same thing applies here
@@gabriel_319good to know you wanna send people to jail based of what there wearing.
No it's not
@@gabriel_319obviously people should try, but as many others have pointed out, some people simply can't afford something like a nice suit. Justice is supposed to be blind regardless, so it shouldn't matter. Unfortunately our courts prefer people with money
@@gabriel_319 imagine getting an extra 5 years on your sentence for not wearing a tie.
There are two types of people that have man buns:
1. Apple Store employees
2. *GAELIC GLADIATORS*
I think this is stupid because 1.self expression 2. If you can't afford a suit 3. man bun is probably the best way for men with long hair to neatly wear it
You may think it is stupid, but the jury and judge all have inherent biases.
@@NBH-xh3nq exactly the comment I'm looking for 💯
Still don't get why ppl complain abt this smh
I thought judges weren't supposed to be biased by looks 🤨
I’m wearing all these to my court case wendsday you can’t stop me 🤓🤓
Send him a picture. 😉
I'm a cop. One of my favorite coworkers has a man bun. Dude is super awesome. He was a volunteer firefighter then an emt before joining law enforcement. Also one of the most genuinely nice people you will meet.
Mike just roasted more than half the people watching this video
Man wouldn’t it be so sick if like the justice system was fair and didn’t discriminate based on appearance. That’d be crazy
"That's great, buddy. But there's no ancient warriors here" pure gold
You forgot to say “never wear a dolphins jersey to court”
Even if you bought a cheap suit the judge would respect the effort.
Fr, at least try it
How cheap?
Thrift store cheap
people go there for justice, not to please the judge's taste in clothes
Any judge who expects a suit does not have my respect
A court should judge the accused crime not fasion. This just another reason to not trust the court system
“Your hair is dumb” got me rolling😭
I doubt you'll see this as I found it long after posting. In the event you do, I have a court question. If the judge says " Do you swear to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth so help you God" can you ask them to rephrase and leave out the invocation of a deity ?
1) piercings aren't unprofessional, but judging someone for theirs is. Also, piercings aren't magnetic, and won't set off a metal detector.
2) judging whether clothes fit is classist. Someone might not be able to afford their own suit.
Preach it
Cry about it
Classist really?
Yea I have 36 piercings and have never set off a metal detector
@@A_reasonable_individual42 Just rent a suit for $100 bro 🤡
I think he will be the foreshadowed lawyer in shorts wars season two
Im honeslty supprised of the man bun one. I used to have one, and I never thought it would be informal.
Men with long hair don't have much of a choice. Wearing it down is too casual. Best we can do is a neat bun.
"I put a hex on the guard" Was way funnier than it had any right to be. I'm just imagining a warlock getting a court summons
“Oh wow! You’re haunting to look at!” Had me dead 💀😭
"Get him some air, quick"
💀💀💀💀
*Delivers Oxygen*
why are judges so uptight
is bro gonna be in shorts wars
😂 That hiss at the judge was hilarious!
"Are you shrinking???!" LMAO I"M DEAD
Your company “cant discriminate” based on your looks; but the court that you take them to can 😅
Ok but what do i do with my long hair if i cant do a man bun?
Thats exactly what Im thinking. I have long hair so tf you expect me to do? Im not putting it down. Its too much hair
@@SnessFreshmy hair can be rowdy and just not cooperate whatsoever, putting it in a bun is sometimes all I can do in a professional setting. Guess I gotta shave it all off if I ever have court lmao
@@SnessFresh tie it in a ponytail? If it's too much then idk maybe cut it?
@jayharv285 but whats the difference between a ponytail and a bun. Why is a ponytail more suitable for court but a bun isnt? Makes zero sense.
@@SnessFresh a ponytail looks more professional and doesn't look as dirty?
How are earrings disrespectful tho? And what if I can’t afford a suit that fits? And what’s wrong with man buns? Why should my appearance have any affect on the case!
Exactly.
Between my piercings and slightly large clothes, and my best friends man bun we can never go to court.💀
"Are you shrinking?" That one was good 😅
What about the skin of my victim?
Number 3: don't be black
Which also works with things not to do when getting pulled over, or just in general
Racist af but also so true
you should never wear the skin of your victim

@@_AceOFSpadesGD that makes no sense at all lmao. How is pulling your hair back a joke?
@@cdm966 exactly what the 1st person said
@@_AceOFSpadesGD No, that doesn't answer it. How does pulling your hair back look unprofessional, it's literally the professional standard to pull your hair back
so as a man with long hair, you’re telling me it’s more professional to wear it down?
A judge in a court must make decisions based on the laws and facts regardless of someone appearance, race, skin color or etc.
that scream at the beginning tho 💀
I love your marker pfp
Im sorry but if a piece of jewelry or how you dressed is going to effect the outcome of your trial that clearly shows there is no thing as a "fair trial". If you can get more or less time or win a lawsuit because you look better thats not only just bias but unfair and we the people need to call out this stuff
Yeah we need to remember that these old fucks work for us not the other way around
"you are shrinking?" GOT ME DYING
Yeah our court systems messed up if any of those reasons he gave can affect your court case if we have to follow a social conduct that is completely based on how how you look and the rating scale is the more you look like a higher social class the better off you are is a problem. What I'm trying to get at is a good court system shouldn't judge people how they look or any of that The only thing that they should consider is past proven history and evidence of them committing the crime anything else is pointless in fact we could probably get rid of courts and do it completely online not even on facecam and it could lead to better results granted it could also be easier to fabricate somebody as guilty but they can also write a defense response to But there are the problem isn't that it's that we have too many laws too many complications so many loopholes to get around the laws also this guy's just got me rambling Good job
Why do looks matter that much in court?
Personally I think it's stupid.
Because everyone can afford tailored suits
I would rather go to jail as the plaintiff than take out my piercings
Bro just called the judge an ancient worrier💀💀💀
Ridiculous that any of this matters to anyone.
Well, if you want people to take you seriously, dress properly like normal people
