There are breeds of cats that are easier on those with allergies, and ways to get your cat fix even when you live with someone who's allergic. I hope you get to spend much more time with cats, since as a fellow cat lover, I know I personally can't survive without them.

Thanks for the thoughtful perspective and the update on the adorable kitty! I used to be allergic to cats but took a chance when I got a kitten. I got over the allergies and now have two house tigers. Hope your journey brings you to another cat someday.
