    Chill you are so lovely taking them snacks. And you are very generous towards the hair dressers as they are on a learning curve with 4C hair! And it looks as if it hurts sometimes 😧 and you are lovely, smiley and chatty.

      Yea...I always see visits like this as a 'culture evangelism' if that makes any sense. Gifting them an experience they may never get again gives me so much satisfaction and all I can do is encourage them because most times learning something new can be a bit of a challenge. Thank you for the kind words ❤️

    Hello Chilo,
    Such an interesting vlog and thank you for sharing. Just wanted to compliment you on your very long and jet black hair. I noticed in the beginning you had on your face mask and then as the two individuals were helping to lose your braids, you had taken it off while just about everyone in the saloon had theirs on. You had it back on as the stylist was getting ready to wash your hair and in the process getting your hair washed it was off again. I know Japanese people can be sticklers for following protocols. Was the stylist okay with you not putting on your face mask? Thank you for addressing my question.

    • @Chilotalks
      @Chilotalks  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Thanks for the kind words.
      About the nose mask question, yes they are strict on its usage especially because they don't want other customers to feel uncomfortable by not feeling safe. However, the area I stayed to loosen my hair was cleared for just me because not many people would want to open TH-cam and see themselves in a video because they visited a salon, so because I was alone there I could be flexible.
      2. I wore it when I was going to wash because I was going to pass the main hall were other customers were seated, however somewhere along the line in the washing the stylist asked if I can remove it because she didn't want water to pour it and she couldn't wash my ear region properly (I actually captured that part if you watch closely)
      I hope you understand what I am trying to explain

    The lady stylist was just as enthusiastic as the stylist from "...Rogi". But this is what I stated in the last video. There comes a point when curious crosses over and boarders on rude. From the video there were times when you looked uncomfortable. I am sure they did their best as they had never worked on your hair type before. I was so surprised by your videos that so many services were available during the pandemic in Japan. Here in California, hair salons were closed until the vaccine became available. People went for months without haircuts or did it themselves with varying results. 😆Its still pretty restrictive. When they finally opened, you have to come with your hair washed already and you have to hold the mask to your face as they cut your hair. The mask mandate has now lifted so it is easier but it was harsh during Covid.
