"... but does disarm your best ability for some time" good sir, I can drink a shot every time a person takes the lantern and I'll be playing sober for hours!
Regarding the void-mites what I did notice (or at least my observations strongly suggest) is that if you let them die by themselves (through their core mechanic of constantly losing HP), they never spawn souls, but if they are actively killed by an attack or spell last-hitting them, there is a chance they do. That small snipet you show, also seems to indicate that. PS: This might be 100% observer bias and coincidence.
I've seen this exact same thing happen myself, and heard it from... somewhere? I can with reasonable certainty say this is correct. If they give gold (they die from champ damage) they have a chance to drop a soul. If they time out, they don't. So timing a flay to wipe them out on low health is a good way to grab a couple extra souls in a grub clear.
I fourth this info - grublings do count as "dead" when are killed by any damage, meanwhile when they "die" through their health drain mechanic, the just "despawn" and do nothing else for the games economy.
One thing I do like about the souls is that, because he gets NO base armour scaling, Thornmail scales with essentially ALL of your armour, which is quite a nice boost to damage
okay, the nunu interaction for dropping two souls is a pretty cool and niche idea from riot, either that or it is a featured accidentally added by the spaghetti
It has been a thing since ever as nunu has always been a kid with a yeti, fun fact sej also drops 2 souls one for her and another for bristle the boar, i am sure there is another one that also drops 2 but i cant remember it.
@@tixonochek kled isnt because skarl is trully imortal and even if she wasnt for kled to die he needs to dismount so skarl as run away and rell her horse is a product of her metalmancy and she is the one shaping iron to make a horse
You've done 2 videos on souls but I STILL want a more in-depth guide for how to specifically optimize collection of souls Like how do you do it in a solo lane well? I can toss lanterns to raptors and whatnot and do voidgrubs, but I still need more ways to optimize Basically, I want a guide to how to get 100 souls at 25 minutes reliably on thresh in a solo lane
ok, i've made some tests. This is what i got from it: Voidmites doesn't need to be killed to drop a soul. You can get 1 soul from Voidmites if you already triggered his passive from a minion or monster camp. (i never got a soul by starting practice tools and going straight to mites farm) You can farm as many as possible you won't get another one unless you go do something else. Sometimes 2 voidmites dies on the same server tic and you can get 2, but it's rare. Bonus: If you play overgrowth, mind going grubs if you can, every voidmites counts. I don't really understand why getting souls from something else work, i don't know if it's a bug or if it's intended. i don't know if it's actually "getting" soul that trigger it, maybe it's the bonus when you're NOT getting a soul and voidmites have 0% chance but got just a little if you have the bonus. in fact it's more likely to be the bonus, because i tried with raptor and krug, it worked, but scuttle, drake, gromp and voidgrub themself doesn't and it may be cause they always drop a soul.
so about the grublings not dropping souls in practice tool it's because you have to actually kill them for them to be able to drop have a chance to drop a soul. I believe it's the same way with senna's passive
thats why i buy jak sho(scales with bonus) cause passive(counts as bonus armor) combined with aftershock(scales with bonus) and thornmail scales like that and much more
I like building full tank on thresh, with items that scale with armor, and items that boost the armor And one magic item, Rabadon deathcap, just because it goes well alone with passive I disagree with you on how it's bad idea, i think thresh is a kind of champion that doesn't rely on items, and is good on his own, and items just upgrade what he's already good at Deathcap boosts that damage the most out of all items with flap ap and scalling, it gives a lot of ap without full ap build, it adds up some damage to him, without focusing on the damage itself, because at that point in time i already have all the items i wanted: thornmail etc.
Imo once you hit 100 armor, its much better to get raw hp... any armor above 100 give lower and lower reduction in physical damage... and HP is never bad Lately I've been rushing warmogs first for raw hp then 2nd locket or knights vow.. depending on if the enemy team has alot of aoe(locket) or if their goal is to focus down your carry(knights vow).. and 3rd i usually buy the item i skipped on step 2 above I've been surviving A lot more fights rushing warmogs first... +1000hp early game just feels so nice Vs champs that build lethality, i like to go above 100 so that i still have 100armor vs their lethality... like 130armor vs 30 lethality Otherwise, awesome and informative video.. love it!
What i found out is that the passive is somewhat weird because in some gamemodes(One for all especially) the souls are doubled or dont give the stats correctly
@CryoBeat maybe when a unit is damaged by thresh it applies a hidden passive where that unit can drop a soul? specifically talking bout the baby goobers not dropping souls but when u casted e they did.
But souls drop by you just being near, you can see this with minions in lane and even jg camps that you pass by as your jg is finishing it. Maybe it the unit taking damage from another unit (not only Thresh himself) instead of auto hp loss that triggers this chance.
i played him quite some time and i have a feeling that always toward mid game when i really start to roam i always seem to get more souls from my other teammates than from my adc (especially when more teammates are around for example in base). but that is just my observation i never used any tool to confirm this
i did not get an answear to my questions for thresh, what is range of collecting souls,, whats the cd after death of a minion and what is the time i have until it deaspawns. I always felt like thresh passive needs a little pick up range buff
All this comes from my own feeling playing it and not actual riot numbers: Souls lasts about 5 seconds after spawn anim ends. They spawn when Thresh is about 1,2 screen away(could be a bit more, but defenitely its more than 1 screen) and I don´t think there´s a CD or if any its really short as i´ve seem souls spawn almost at the same time (not the same frame). Edit: collecting range is weird since it seem to scale with your model size, so i would assume it´s about... 110%? As for the lantern, its the whole "light" circle.
Imagine if crit instead of being RANDOM was instead like this; Let's say you buy a Legendary with 25 Crit Power (instead of %), every attack stacks 25 "Crit Power", the next two attacks give you 50 and 75 Crit Power respectively, then on the 4th attack you reach 100 Crit Power which will cause that attack to Crit. This would make crit more predictable and STRATEGIC to use.
As an ARAM connoisseur, I'd like to point out that the fact he gets double souls in aram is even more broken than it sounds, minions spawn much faster in ARAM, 25-13 seconds. If minions were the same speed, you'd get similar souls to summoners rift, but because of this, we hit 200 souls EVERY GAME. I've even hit 330 souls in a particularly long one. I was building tank, but I had 1500 damage in Q, E, AA, and a 660 shield on my W. Moral of the story, play thresh in ARAM. He's also the 2nd highest WR tank behind Cho
At that timestamp, it shows the 'effective hp' gains (Your HP against physical damage specifically considering your HP + Armor), and how 2 cloth armors gives +300 EHP with our 1000 HP example even when you buy 4 of them, meaning no diminishing returns. In other words, your 4th Cloth Armor is just as effective and efficient as your 1st, but this is ONLY for physical damage and does not consider enemy Armor penetration.
This one time when i was playing thresh support in wild rift, the game somehow went long enough to the point i got 300+ souls, and because wild eidt thresh passive souls gives 2 armor and ap per soul instead of 1. Well, you know the rest
Void mites only give souls when they are killed by a champion, their health decays on their own but they can't drop souls if they die by that decay. they only give money, souls or stacks if they die by a champion

As a Senna main... This is in line with my observation for Senna souls.

how does Thresh's Passive work?
it doesn't if riot changes something in code
This isn’t over explaining thresh’s passive it’s just a thresh guide 😂
my random guess is that the tiny void mites will only have a chance of spawning a soul if your ally last hits them
i once got around 700-800 souls from an OFA game, picking up other thresh's dropped souls
