Omg I am dying, your dad is soooo cute the way he is eating his biscuits (scones) and gravy! The proper southern way is to break your biscuit up on a plate and then cover them with the gravy, then eat with a fork! Absolutely adorable! And I love grits with lots of butter and salt and pepper! Cracker Barrel is one of my favs! Yummy food and a fun place to shop!! Grits need MUCH more butter and cheese and LOTS of salt and pepper lol And to really eat it like a southern American, you crack open the egg yolk and mix it in with the grits! Yumm! I love seeing you with your Mom and Dad. My son is 27 and visits regularly and goes on vacation/holiday with us. We enjoy every moment we get!! Our daughter is married with one child and we love our time with them but it’s much more complicated to find the free time for them to come. Glad you’re making the most of your time! 💜

Since you are in Florida you should give grits another chance and have some Shrimp and cheese grits. They are the best! Plain grits are best with butter and salt black pepper. Love grits with breakfast.
I put butter and sugar in my grits . Not something I get all of the time, but when I do that is what I put on it. Also put sugar and butter on rice and also on Cream of Wheat. Too bland without it. Love that you all are so family oriented. My family is a lot like that. Love to be with each other and enjoy to be around one another when you get the time. You should try shrimp and grits if you ever go to New Orleans, so much better than regular grits. I’m a Louisiana Native, and shrimp and grits is one of my absolute favorite Louisiana style foods👌🏻 Also, you should try honey on a biscuit, sooo good!

The first time we visited them it was Thanksgiving and My husband, who's originally from London, his sister flew over from Heathrow to meet us there for two weeks which was fantastic, since it was all new for the three of us! We went to the nighttime Christmas kickoff event in downtown Naples and they had bubble foam blow out of the street lamp posts to replicate snow in the tropical heat! it was so wierd, but fun! So I know how you felt how strange it is to think about Christmas when it's hot out!

For the hoodie...this may sound crazy...but check the drug stores! Walgreens, CVS, etc. A lot of those stores have souvenir type things!
