Yay!!! Another baking video. Cracking eggs on a flat surface gives a cleaner break than on an edge, so no bits of shell to possibly have to fish out. I really like the way you frosted the cake by placing swirls of buttercream and leaving the background frosting free. That way someone like me who loves frosting can get a lovely ball of buttercream and those that don't want a lot of frosting can get a slice between the roses. When I saw Lia open it on your weekly catch-up vlog, I thought you frosted it with dark fudge frosting and decorated with the light brown Kinder buttercream frosting. Which goes to show that you made a really moist and awsomely chocolatey rich cake. Yum!
Joel. I love your “intuitive baking” style. I also can’t give instructions for my recipes. I do it by feel. However, you forgot to add vanilla extract to round out the flavors in your cake and also a pinch of salt. All sweet baking needs the balance of salt and an extract for the punch. You’re such a great friend !

Darling Joel-I don’t know if your blood sugar levels can take it, but PLEASE do more of these baking videos! You are naturally gifted! I am going to surprise my children with this Kinder chocolate cake. I make this incredibly rich, absolutely decadent pistachio cake that while absolutely lovely, I am actually tired of making. Every time we have a birthday or party, I am asked to make my pistachio cake. I am itching to make something different! I am also going to try that little trick of adding espresso to the chocolate batter. I have done it with fudge brownies, but never chocolate cake.

You’re always thinking of others! ;-) When I lived in Arizona, I used to get up really, really early in the morning to bake, if I had to bake. When it had cooled down to a more reasonable 105 degrees at five a.m.. You can do that if the heat returns.
