Thanks Bert and it was my dream as well for years. Finally pulled the trigger years ago and just made the move. It's a beautiful area. Appreciate you watching and take care! ATB Greg
Congrats on finding yours and I just learned about that being an ear of corn around the edges. Very cool! Always appreciate you watching, Ronald and take care! ATB Greg
Sweet FFA pin and padlock! Congrats on all the cool relics dug on this one. Glad you're feeling better and able to get out and enjoy peace, beauty, and our great hobby!
Definitely a lot easier out detecting when you're not melting, glad the temp dropped a bit! A beautiful scene, The river, the mist, and the geese. And some detecting to go along with it. A great way to spend the day! Cheers Greg!
Thanks Wayne and glad you enjoyed this one. The temps have finally cooled and I even saw a low of 39 one day soon. I'll be happy with just a pleasant happy medium. lol Appreciate you watching and take care! ATB Greg
Hope you're 100% soon Greg! When I first started detecting a few years ago I dug an unremarkable find near the railroad tracks. Threw it in my pouch to dispose of when I got home. My son happened to be looking through the trash finds and said "hey Pop, I think this is old"... after cleaning and some research, it turned out to be a first-year Carhartt's overall button. Likely lost by a railroad worker in the late 1800s. Lesson learned-never toss a find until you know it's trash!
Thanks KD and that is a very good lesson to learn. Sometimes even the trash can turn out to be an amazing find. Great find with that early button! Appreciate you watching and take care! ATB Greg
You have the best opening in the metal detecting genre on TH-cam!!! 🇺🇸🤓 Thanks again!!! PS, the ground you're working on appears to be like concrete.... You need some rain ☔!!!
Thanks so much Andrea! I have a lot of fun tying the old photos to the finds and stories in the episodes. Really glad you enjoy them! Appreciate you watching and take care! ATB Greg
Thanks Robert and glad that one brought back some good memories for you. I didn't realize that about the ear of corn at the edges. Thanks for sharing that! Appreciate you watching and take care! ATB Greg
Hey Greg, glad you are feeling better. Love your videos and loved the FFA pin you dug. I have farmed all my life and was in ffa all 4 years of high school. Brought back a lot of memories. Haven’t been detecting for a couple months but planning to get out this weekend. ❤
Thanks so much Dave and so glad you enjoy my videos. So glad that old FFA pin brought back those good memories for you. I hope you got out and found something amazing out there! Appreciate you watching and take care! ATB Greg
Thanks Gary and that is a very cool old picture. Sporting the crazy Easter hats was definitely popular back then. Appreciate you watching and take care! ATB Greg
Greg, I sure hope the heat did not get you sick last week. We hope you are on the mend? Loved the Easter bunny bin, knife and spoon and the meter cover. We have yet to find a harmonica reed. The FFA pin was in excellent condition, my favorite that you recovered. I enjoyed your river front clip, the geese separating the dew off the river was flying was awesome. No idea on the mystery piece. Great hunt.👍👏😀
Thanks so much guys and as much as you two dig out there, I have no doubt that you will have that reed soon! Glad you enjoyed the finds and those amazing geese! Appreciate you watching and take care! ATB Greg
Very very cool finds my friend, as always! Glad you got to feeling better too! Keep on keeping on 🤘, that area your at there, kinda reminds me of the KY river palasades
Thanks Doug and really glad you enjoyed watching this one. That is a really beautiful area although, it looks a bit different now after the hurricane and the floods. Appreciate you watching and take care! ATB Greg
I'm a little late but great finds Greg! I recognized the FFA pin as soon it popped out of the ground. A friend at school had that very pin and wore that FFA jacket you showed in the picture. Very cool!
We had silverware that looked almost like that knife pattern, yep, in the 60's (at least!).---Look up Helen Neushaefer lipstick examples!---We could all benefit from a few more of those nature moments.---Wow, hard to believe that train engine actually existed!!!---I looked up the 'sanforized' description.---I loved your "Oh well"!
I hope you are feeling better! I've been down for two weeks with a bronchial pneumonia. Yuck! I love your videos and oh my goodness what beauty surrounds you! Great finds!
I am much better although now I have hurt my foot! LOL Rough couple of months. :) I hope you are now feeling better as well. So glad you enjoy my videos and I am very lucky to live in such a beautiful area. Appreciate you watching and take care! ATB Greg
Very cool finds Greg , a lot of history with those finds and that area looks beautiful. The photos are awesome too, we always enjoy watching. Thank you Greg , take care my friend. 👍 Ward & Kim K.
Good morning, Greg, glad you're getting better. Nice variety of finds today, and the number of pairs: two jeans snaps with stars, two railroad spikes, two toy gun hammers... I get a kick out of your childlike joy digging treasures from the ground. It never grows old. Have a great day. 🤗😎
I have too. They are also very similar looking to the old CASE tractor pins as well so I wasn't a hundred percent sure at frst. Appreciate you watching Charlie and take care! ATB Greg
Awesome episode Greg! So many fantastic finds along that beautiful river. Loved the old photos and enjoyed seeing the cliffs, river and geese flying by.
Pretty soon you'll be able to put the railroad tracks back together 😂 I have yet to find one. Cool finds. And yes.....the cooler weather is soooooooo much nicer. It's raining good here in SC which means good detecting. That lock would be a good candidate for electrolysis
I certainly have a ton of them! I'm sure you'll get one out there, Michael. They sometimes ring in at odd numbers but the long signal will often give them away. Appreciate you watching and take care! ATB Greg
Very nice, Greg. Those padlocks are so cool! Would you share on what you had your recovery set at for this hunt? And also, do you change your recovery setting often, depending on the sight?
Thanks Orion! I have been hunting a lot in the all terrain fast program which has the recovery set pretty high at 7. It really works well for me and I can't get enough of using it at my hard hit spots. It works VERY well along with the audio theme set to DEPTH. You might want to give it a try. Appreciate you watching and take care! ATB Greg
I love the program because it is absolutely amazing at separating and it's amazing how much it has pulled from some very hard hunted ground. Using the audio theme in Depth with it just makes it even more responsive. Give it a try at some of your hard hunted spots. Appreciate you watching and take care! ATB Greg.
Thanks Randy and the halo effect is a chemical reaction between the minerals in the soil and the metallic content of the lost item. After many years, the soil will turn a darker color around the metal item and you will notice it when you are digging. when you see it, you'll know you are onto something old and something made of a decent metal; copper, bronze, brass, etc. The metal detector also picks up on the halo which allows it to detect the item easier as well as deeper. The longer the item has been buried the larger the area of halo there will be.
Do you have an email address for your channel? A friend of mine sent me a picture of a 100 ft (or maybe 150ft) Big Boy Train engine that recently visited our area. I’m curious
Had the Manticore for a couple of months, just got my M9. So my question is this, what makes you prefer all terrain fast??

cool hunt one question u said the halo effect what is that
Thanks Randy and the halo effect is a chemical reaction between the minerals in the soil and the metallic content of the lost item.
