I just did this and really happy with it. They were way cheaper on Amazon than Dicks and I like that I can always easily replace the bungee sections as needed. Thank you
Super helpful video! My Tamarack Pro has the same issue plus they're all stretched out. So 2 issues with one easy upgrade. Many thanks for the video and the links.
Very nice. Just purchased this kayak and noticed the bungie doesn’t hold the paddle very tight. Will probably do this and shorten the bungie some for a tighter hold
Wish I'd thought of this when I replaced the bungee on my wife's kayak...I hate the idea that whoever at Lifetime that thought it was a good idea to just put holes in the side of the kayak probably still has his job! Stay safe!
The dial on the drill has #s. The lower the # means the drill will stop tightening when the screw is properly tight. Eliminating the need for the screwdriver. And like you said, a bad idea to have holes on the outside of a boat. Nice fix.
Has anyone added dry storage hatches on this model? I have one and the entire has intricate molding. Even if I added 4” ones between the floor ribs it might not have enough flat aria for the flange to be screwed down.
It’s held up well honestly. I had the kayak on top of a Jeep and it was raining hard all day. There wasn’t much water inside. But the little that was there could’ve been from the front hatch though. Other than that I don’t have water in it when kayaking.
Great idea. And you're the best dressed DIY'er I've ever seen on a kayak video. Well done
Thanks! I had just got home from work and figured I’d knock it out. Lol
lol i kept staring at his shoes, i was like dam, those are some nice shoes for a DIY kayak video
@@ohh_werd The shoes are the icing on the cake.

Thanks for watching! You can always re drill the hole to fit a well nut. I agree, not a very smart design on their end. Luckily it’s an easy fix.
Awesome video! Doing this to my Tamarack Pro and my Kenai Pro right now! Adding an extra paddle keeper to the Kenai.
Exactly the video I was looking for! You can find just the bungee ends as well.
Just finished doing this.
Great idea! Thank you for the video!
Clear silicone fixed mine.
Great video bro! Keep bringing in the content!
The Tamarack Pro has the same water leakage problem. It would be great if lifetime came out with a fix for this.
I forgot to mention that as well about the Tamarack Pro. I agree, they should have it fixed from the factory.
Finally posted a video 😂 posted a link to yours in the comments 🤙 thanks bro
Thanks Peter!
@@Chicitypo yeah dude. So simple, yet effective. Love it 👍
A link to the parts needed would have been great.
Looks good to me. I think i'll try that.

I know, I had it at a lower number but didn’t want people copying me and messing something up. Lol. Thanks for watching!
@@Chicitypo and the last half a turn by hand is priceless 👍
Looking for a bulk pack of bungee ends right now lol

Nice
How has it held up since you done that does it still leak or have any problems since with it

What size well nuts did you use? Thanks
