JEDS559 it does not. I just dip my transducer in the water when I get to where I'm fishing and get the temperature quickly and then I'll stick it in the duct seal for the rest of the time. It's simple

The high cost of specialized transducer mounting components roadblocks simplicity. Simple solution. Good job to the original poster. And, to you for reposting. Good job.

This is one of the best ways to mount a transducer on a kayak that I found on youtube! However, I fish on rivers and low water levels might be an issue when going over rocks.

  • @craigster59

I've seen a few ask where to get the nipple and cap, any hardware store will have it but it will be in the "irrigation" section where the sprinklers and stuff are not the plumbing section. Also it might be a good idea to slide a rubber grommet over the nipple topside before screwing down the cap just for added waterproofing. Great video!

make the pipe and connecting nut adjustable. one extremely important thing to using a transducer is for it to be level, obviously, so when you get it in the water or how your kayak sits in the water, you will want to adjust it slightly to make sure it is level for better images. also make sure it isn; in like a bubble stream or behind a ridge that catches air, or it'll knock your readings off. you could even make a larger pipe, so 6-12" with a sliding lock clamp on it to raise and lower your transducer however you wish out on the water.

I’ve been designing something like this in my mind and then found your video here. Yours is a simpler method than what I was thinking. I have a concern/question though. Other videos I’ve watched insist that the transducer must be parallel to the water bottom. From your video it appears to be canted a few degrees. So - now that you had this on for a few years, does it work well at that canted angle?
