- She's the Man is one of the best movies of the 2000s. I think every person currently in their 20s has seen it at least once. It's so quotable.
Starring Amanda Bynes and Channing Tatum, She's the Man is a modern retelling of the Shakespeare play "Twelfth Night". Viola Hastings only wants to play soccer when the girls' team at her school is cut. When the school won't let her try out for the boy's team, she decides to switch to their rival school Illyria and pretend to be her brother Sebastian. She room's with Duke Orsino (Channing Tatum) and the two get to know each other better. Though Duke thinks he is in love with Olivia who is actually in love with Sebastian (but really Viola in disguise). It's a complicated, beautiful, disastrous mess and I love it.

@@thebestofstephx Oh gotcha, I watched it recently expecting it to be pretty problematic, and it actually still holds up pretty well. Worth a rewatch IMO.

Ok but HAVE YOU WATCHED THE COMMENTARY FOR THIS MOVIE? It's so fucking hilarious. I think my favorite part is when Toby(?) first appears in the dorm when Viola's meeting her roomie and the other soccer boys they pointed out he was a power ranger (SPD!) and they comment on his "powerful power ranger legs" and I was DYING.
My aunts showed my younger brother and I this movie at the beginning of 2020 and it was so awkward to be watching it with him there (especially the tampon scene). We laughed at the funny parts, but at the parts that were too painful for us, we both grabbed pillows to cover our faces with. I love the line: "Cause when my eyes are closed, all I see is you for what you really are, which is UUUGLAY!" Sometimes when my mom tells me to take a shower, I start singing, "I get to take a shower, I get to take a shower," like Viola does. Her "manly voice" cracks me up.
This movie is soo funny, a classic

Out of curiosity, for the tampon thing, why didn't she just say it's how she meets chicks, because she passes them out for free so they don't have to use the stupid bathroom vending machine?

9:42, it wouldn't burn, so at this point, she's busted ;) Staying on the topic of soccer contusions, the neck pain or stomach pain are much worse because they are taking a longer time to disappear than the ball's pain.
Oh, one more thing. In the intro, Amanda has got no problem what so ever to hit the ball (but she is looking down to make sure it is there). So, why is she struggling so much at the end of the movie, when she's stopping to make sure that she will hit the ball?
this movie has a cast commentary...hands down the funniest commentary I've ever sat through..(the only one I've ever been able to sit through.)
