This DOM looks like a Zaku, so even though Ral isn't here, I have to say
THIS IS NO ZAKU BOY. NO ZAKU.
This dom has been hitting the gym with the zaku. How else do you think it lost all that weight?

I beg to differ.
The original HGUC DOM is no slouch. You can build it as either the Dom or Rick Dom, It has the weapons for both versions, and you can move the mono-eye
There is also the HGUC DOM TROPEN Sand Brown Ver. This guy looks amazing, has good articulation, and comes with enough weapons to arm a 5 man squad of zeeks
Even the MG DOM 1.0 is one of the best old style MG kits
Wish they revived the hg dom and dom tropens.
He'd probably rate those as brown tier even tho they're awesome kits
Well, a ground dom really only needs to crouch and hold a bazooka, and the hguc delivers far more than that. However, even with all the accessories, the dom reopen cannot move its eye. On a dom type, that's bad enough to knock it down to a bronze teir.
The HG Dom Tropen has been reissued a few times, including just recently. You should see if your e-commerce site of choice has any in stock. I just got a couple from USA Gundam Store, but I think they may be sold out by now.

I love the Origin kits. I've got the Bugu and Gouf. They are almost like an in between of High Grade and Real Grade.
I've always liked the Dom. It kind of gives off a ''friendly giant'' vibe or something.
I am in love with the high grade the origin kits! Also really enjoyed the stop motion segment in this video
The crazy part is a gundam head would perfectly fit with the design.

This is actually the first kit I ever built! I’ve just always loved the Dom design so when I got into Gunpla it just jumped out at me from the shelf.

I got this kit a couple of months ago and its turned into one of my most loved hg's
This thing looks freaking awesome, and the stop-motion articulation was pretty cool. I also think the heat sword looks better in red than the usual yellow.

Also, you incorporating stop motion in your review is very nice. I think its a step up from what you used to do, but I'm not sure if I like it. If anything, it reminds me of the old horror movies where they used such effects.
He, you did bring the Dom Review, I love this kit!! I have one but I plan on getting three (if Bandai doesn't bring us the mass production Dom from the Origin) seriously, every kit on The Origin is so good!

Have to agree with the evaluation of this kit. Exelent build quality, was a enjoyable kit to build and the stickers just make the kit just eye candy even without any panel lining. Plus that beam bazoka gives it a certain shelf presence noticeable next to even the MG Shin Musha.

I hope you should get the HG Act Zaku (Kycillia's Forces) I just build it week ago and I was super impressive with the kit (love the moving monoeye gimmick) it's around the same price as this HG Dom Test Type.
Great job on the stop motion articulation demo! I love the Dom but I don't love the zaku nose. Maybe I can use a different yead like the one from the R35 Dom from build fighters.
This is a really fun build, every origin kit I've picked up so far is gold. Do the Bugu next ?

This was my second origin kit and favorite dom kit the joints in mine are loose now but some glue can fix it up

cant expect the super rare and/or old models, of course, but it'd be nice to have all the modern kits reviewed.

One thing i really like about the Dom serie is that "bring your house down" Bazooka. Just the shape of it is so sexy compared to the standart Zaku launcher. Still not sold on the diver helmet though, it just looks weird with the hoses going up and back

In Build Divers, I saw one of these using a large heat axe. I wonder which one it is.
It looks like the Dead End G from Gunpla Builders Beginning G, used by the Super Zaku F2000
Yeah I was wondering where that axe came from. I thought that maybe it came from one of the black tri stars high mobility zaku’s or was a custom weapon. I completely forgot the super zaku f2000 though but that does make more sense.

The P-Bandai Zaku High-mobility Test Type Origins kit is the twin of this one with some Zaku specific parts and different color way. Grab one!
I've been itching to ask, what material did you use for your staging area? I mean that hex table lit up thingy. I'm inlove with it whenever I watch your reviews~
I just built this guy, loved him enough to build him custom. Used a beam from the pg astray red for the beam effect on the bazooka. Turned out so nice
They may not have appeared in The Origin but at least they got the limelight in Build Divers.
Still weird that this is the only Dom in the HG Origin line.
it is impressive for a Dom to have a full knee bend despite its super bulky lower legs/calves, also note that you attached the side skirts on the wrong sides.
what a coincidence i just started building this today!
Recently built the RX78 origin. Figured out the hard way that the chest piece snaps in place and once you've chosen either the early or middle type chest, you're stuck with it. I tried taking it off, but I stopped before I broke it. Same goes for the tube handles on the shoulder. I can't seem to pull them apart since they snap in place. Thankfully, the wrist cuff are fine and can be swapped easily. Is anyone else having the same problem, or can you swap those parts freely?

Yes. I used some on my HG Dom (the older one) so it should
I bought some of the Sakura wars samurai trash can mechs and used those gem lenses on some zakus and a dom. Also most craft stores with scrap booking stuff will have entire sheets of adhesive gems/jewels. I have a blinged out and bejeweled head to toe pink zaku my daughter made me
I used a 3mm rhinestone. Worked great. Domed style
