  • This is the fastest and easiest way I have found to reliably adjust wheel bearings on a motorized bike.
    This work for coaster brakes as well.
    We upload motorized bike videos every week (sometimes more)!

    The bain of biking has always been the bearings.'Just right'is a real pain to achieve,but your life is worth the time.I over tightened once,in a hurry,and a few miles away from home the race collapsed inward.The back split out of a 3 month old heavy-duty rim's bearing cup.Not a fun walk home.Thanks for the info LA.

      Watching this video made me wonder how much heat and expansion is created when you're going 30 mph for 15-30 minutes. Next time I go for a ride, I'm gonna feel the hub to see how warm it is. I haven't got around to it but was gonna check to see if I could find some cartridge bearings that would fit to do a conversion.

    Nice tip...i got a tip that may help you on your bike that you are or were having the idling trouble with..I remember you saying it may be idling erratic because of low vacuum not pulling the fuel out of the bowl...if you still have your boost bottle from the test you done awhile back try hooking it up and see if the motor will idle if so then it is a vacuum problem... the boost bottle will act like a vacuum canister and store up the vacuum....I've installed vacuum canister on race engine to help run power brakes and other vacuum controlled accessories due to low intake vacuum due to high lift cams with alit of valve overlap... hope this helps

    I agree with DANNY OUTLAW...
    try the boost bottle...
    It always helped my engine run smoothly...!!!!!
    As always great tips..
    Remember one thing, there is no need to apologise...
    We are all learning together and I look at it as an " UPDATE" to your previous video of how to adjust bearing slop...!!!!
    Great video as always..
    Hope you have a great new year...!!!!

      @@tbladesmith well it works for me...it doesn't help the performance but it helps smooth the engine...
      But I've been told many times that I'm an idiot and I don't know what I'm talking about...
      Having said that, don't pay attention to my comment...!!!!😎😎😎😎😎

    The rear wheel on the Cranbrook will likely be the biggest problem for any first time builder like myself. It’s correct that the wheel will need to be readjusted several times and tinkered with so that it is relatively safe and ready for trips. However, I found that it just is not worth the trouble after the coaster brake causing the wheel to wobble too much during the operation, making the bike unsafe to ride. I actually had too much slop trying to get home from break in, the chain came loose because of it, got stuck on the axle, and really tore up the threads.

    I use two nuts to hold the axel, usually still have the wrestler with it a little bit and it's still a little bit of a pain in the ass. Would be a little worried about stripping the threads on the axle with the grip locks.

    Hi. My clutch makes a squeaking noise while disengaging but while fully disengaged it is quiet. would you know what the problem may be? Thanks!!

    • @LAHover
      @LAHover  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Some pad do this. My motoos is the same. The slight rubbing of the pads on the plate can make noise.

    • @Pyrite-nn5iz

    Hey I think I'm having problems with mine cause when I start mine it whines
    But doesn't affect the performance of the motor but I don't know what the whine is

    • @LAHover
      @LAHover  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      might be a simple as a dragging clutch, but there are a handful of other things. Start by making sure the clutch is fully disengaging.
