Yeah, I rigged up that system just to drip vegetable oil onto the nose. It's just a cheap container that I secured to the frame, and some flexible tubing stuck through the bottom, and zip-tied to the frame just above the nose of the saw. I have not found this to be a great solution as it is prone to moving from the vibrations from the saw. It does get some additional oil to the chain since that definitely dries up in big cuts. I intend to improve that setup in the future.
Just noticing this comment! I had the Amazon version and would say it worked okay for me a little less than a year then I broke one of the welds while in a cut. I would personally recommend buying the Granberg version for the improved quality. That mill has held up to a ton of milling for me.
Chainsaw milling in general is a ton of work! I think it’s worth it for the mobility, low(ish) cost of entry, and the ability for me to cut really unique pieces of wood.
You are positioned directly infront of the exhaust while milling. Youre gonna be hearing the trees whisper on your way home if you do this an entire day😂
Chainsaw mill is great if you are doing it for fun. You could never make a dime doing it for others. If you can I need to talk to you about my love for wood...and you as a partner.
It's the new and improved slingshot
Any info on the oiler at the end of the blade?

Are the $90 ones from Amazon any good? Just for casual?

What portable chainsaw mill is that?
Granberg 54" Alaskan Mill
As far as my life...a big crotch I cut at 6" so I don't have to split it. When going into my boiler.
The ladder moved left and right. That is not a square cut
Actually ended up quite square.
Quite the slingshot
❤❤❤❤
These really seem like a lot of work… are they worth it?!?😅

Totally worth it. You cant mill your own wood in any other affordable way.
Yes you can. Use the chainsaw@@christianhviid2167
Whats up with the canister mask?
Sawdust?
With a chainsaw mill you are over the exhaust of the chainsaw for quite a while.
