    I think if you cand finde large enought peace of sand paper you just can glue a number of smaller peaces on some surface and use it. Also about router: you dont need high coast router table you can make it just from peace of plyfood and it will work great if you need only make chamfer.
    Also amazing how you make so much work using only hand tools. Iam too lazy for thos way xD

    Sounds decent. I would highly recommend investing in a cheap router and build it into a table yourself. Especially if you're going to make more drums. Also find that table sandpaper stuff. And create a jig for the lug casing holes out of metal if possible. Probably cheaper than a drill press. All these tools will make the building process more efficient and more precise. Nice drumming too!

    Nice drum! and i love your playing D-Beat and thrash beats! i love hardcore from sweden, japan, finland and actually anywhere as long as its sounds awesome.another guy made a PVC snare online but used two lugs per psiyion for a top lug/botton lug design, and his began to stretch and pull away from high tension, (maybe use 10 single lugs with gaskets or insert sleeves to keep possible snare self-destruction, but who knows?)=did yours ever start doing anything like this? Last question, did the heads easily slide on top of bearing edge or have to be "seated" or pressed at all, with 14inch diameter being same as drum head collars from remo,evans?tempted to buy a shell from you if you still are doing this?were there any takers originally?

    Did those tention lugs wear out the drilled holes? It happened on another guys pvc. Snare build. You can even sand sheetrock mud using folded sandpaper giving it more thickness, or the small electric sanders, untill getting the edges a good angle. Last time i checked , pvc that size was expensive.

    • @brdane
      @brdane  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      To this day, the tension rods have not worn out, nor do I see any signs of them wearing out. I still have this snare pretty tightly-tuned. I saw the other person's snare build with PVC and not sure why he ran into issues. And yes, PVC is still very expensive (last time I checked). At the time of this video, prices were *significantly* cheaper than what they are now... which is why I bought 10 whole feet of pipe! eBay has pre-cut pieces that are more affordable. I appreciate the advice!

    @T1_Productions ปีที่แล้ว

    I thought of an idea. What if I made a set of marching tenors out of pvc pipe.

    • @brdane
      @brdane  ปีที่แล้ว

      You definitely could! I would recommend making them following these things: One, make them at least 14 inches in diameter. The sizing of PVC is odd. Any size advertised 14 inches and up is the outer diameter, and sizes under that are the inner diameter, so normal drum heads will not fit properly.
      Two, make sure the depth of your tenors are short because the more PVC you have on a drum *that weight adds up incredibly quick* so don't make it to tall or else your back will hate you in the future.
      Maybe make them all 14s, and tune differently. If you still want to include smaller drums I'm sure there are plastic materials that can fit smaller heads somewhere. Perhaps paint buckets that you can cut the bottom out of and add hardware to. I'm sure that, alone, would have a great sound.

    I applaud the effort but building drums out of plastics has been around since the 60's. Good effort from home though.

      MIKE SCHUMACHER Hey thank you very much. I definitely planned on continuing with this. I guess what I meant when I said that I haven't seen much of it around, is that I haven't seen much of commercially sold PVC drums. Especially in the 21st century.
