They do have an auto decompressor on the cam with a small spring in it, if the bike gets over revved the spring can get stretched and causes a clacking noise in the top end, the spring costs approx 99p but you have to remove the cam to fit it. 😅
@@SaulBarry What a PITA. Top-end is definitely getting oil? I looked into these but ended up going with a Kawasaki KLR650, although 25kg heavier it has a rock solid reputation for reliability which was important to me as I do a lot of adventure riding off-grid and have covered about 40,000 miles on it in 3 years. Nothings broken so far (touch wood!)
@@thomas316 top end gets oil vian the ca chain so it was 100% getting oil, i think somehwere in the 30k miles someone might have run it low or something. klr is a solit choise for reliability
Chavs be like "runs mint laad"
sounds like slapping, check cam chain, could also be the piston slapping
oh lol just seen the description glad its fixed
Yeah initially i thought the same, turns out the cam was badly worn. These bikes are noisy any but that was horrific
@@SaulBarry im having a problem with my lexmoto, its rattling on the front end, really hoping its not engine problem

My cam lobe turned out to be flat😐but when i changed the cam the old spring was actually gone, so that could have been part of the sound

Try first adjusting the idle to 1600 rpm
Looked in the top end, camshaft was very badly worn. Gotta replace the cam and bearings.
