    I’m so glad I ran across your channel a while back because it’s helped me so much regarding my beardies diet !! He’s super picky and it’s a work in progress but you kept me from making big mistakes. I’ve tried him with every green I can buy, every vegetable and fruit they can have, and all he wants to eat is arugula 😩. I thought it was going to be fun to feed him a variety and watch him eat different things. He’s a year old now and he’s made a switch to less crickets and worms and more greens but all he wants is arugula. I’ve been searching for other spicy greens and veggies and hoping he will like some of those 😬😬

    I just got my first bearded dragon and I’ve been so confused on how to properly feed him that it’s been giving me a headache and I’m happy I came across your channel, I recently just fed him 10 crickets in fear that I was underfeeding him since a lot (and I do mean A LOT) of sources have been telling me that he should be eating 100 crickets a day in his current size which I found ridiculous since he’s just so small of a lizard.. I’m gonna try the 5-10 insects twice a day with salad and see how well that goes, I appreciate what you’re doing on the platform!!

      Hello! You definitely need high quality uvb like a zoo med t5 10.0 that’s not on top of a thrive screen but more of a screen that allows uvb through. After that definitely need to dust insects with calcium and feed daily 5-15 appropriate sized insects. Once to twice a day

Bringing with or if we have to take to a family members house. My son is in travel soccer so we might need to bring him with but a glass enclosure is just not the best. I was going to get a a big plastic clear tub like a 40 galloon get the same decor and background and stuff so it looks familiar to him and bring all the lights and temp gages.

    Hiya. I have an adult beardie and I give him a variety of veg everyday as well as dubia roaches as his only insect. I’m a little confused on how many roaches he should be having a week as they are larger and meatier than crickets/locusts and are higher in protein. I usually only give him 2 at once, about twice a week. Is this enough or too much? Some days he will hardly touch his veg bowl and others he will eat the whole thing. I would really appreciate a response as most videos online only talk in terms of crickets and I want to make sure i’m doing the right thing. We breed the roaches in a box to save money (I have too many now!) but I will try and get some other insects too occasionally to vary his diet more

    I have a question I have 3 beardies. They all range in age from 15 years to 5 months. I have noticed though on occasion they all like to soak in their water bowls. They don’t really drink it just like to soak. My question is have I been doing something wrong for them to like to soak in it on occasions. Especially on of them, she loves to just lounge in it.

      it could be multiple things, like it being too hot or they just enjoy it ! sometimes they’ll do it to get mites out or rehydrate. so you just have to scope the possibilities, most likely they’re just doing it for fun.

    for a baby bearded dragon (a little under 12 inches), is it okay to feed about 3 medium sized dubia roaches to it per day? Is it also fine for a juvenile bearded dragon (a little under 18 inches) to eat about 5 medium - large dubia roaches a day?

I want to put my dragon in a newer even bigger tank.. and I plan on putting my corn snake in the dragons old tank.. but my question is I have bio active tank that’s been going well for a few years.. could I possibly let that tank sit for a little bit and let isopods and springtails clean all the stuff up and then put my corn snake right in there after a few changes I simply just don’t want to swap all the dirt out and collect all the bugs and spring tails.

    Hi. I love your videos. I have a huge problem with my adult female bearded dragon. I purchased her when she was 18 months old. Was told she likes to be handled and all that great stuff. Well I’ve had her for 6 months now and she is still terrified of me. She obviously had no interactions with humans at all. I gave her time in space in the beginning and I started taking her out and holding her and it’s been the same ever since when I hold her she’ll close her eyes by pet or she closes her eyes. If I talk to her, she closes her eyes or closes one eye and turns her head and keeps one eye open. That’s not looking at me, I’m running out of ideas of what to do with her. Any suggestions? She doesn’t like to be walked with she’s terrified of falling. She hates the bath. I had to keep my arm in the bath with her when I give her a bath. She tries to climb up break up my arm if I put her in the bathtub break my heart highly just take her out, she’s beautiful. I love her. She’s gorgeous orange. Her name is Lexi. Any suggestions of what I should do at this point please. Sincerely, Carol Barr.

      @slappy_tortoise5631 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If she's scared or running away when you try to take her out of her cage then the best thing would be to 'break her in' or basically just get her used to you. Spending time around her cage, allowing her to see you most of the day. Eventually you can just have your hand in the cage with her every now and then so she realises you're not a threat. Hand feeding is also a great way to get them used to you, it's what helped the most with my beardie. Keep her in her cage and just reach in and offer a leaf. She'll associate your hand as food giver and eventually, not a threat. With the baths, instead of letting her soak, try just dripping and wiping water on her to keep her clean or keep the water 2cm deep. I hope everything goes well! She sounds gorgeous.

      @@ChiefSweetsUniverseHeh. The site just confuses me more; since they categorize Collards/Mustards/Turnip greens in the same category as Bak Choy as being goitrogenic greens. Where in most sites I read Collards/Mustards/Turnip greens are okay for staple, but with some other sites claiming that Bak Choy is not okay due to goitrogen.
      I also did some research on goitrogen levels for Bok Choy and Collards (both are considered to be low, specifics unknown), phosphorous levels (collards has about 15 mg more), calcium levels (collards about 117 mg more; which I think could be supplemented via calcium supplements anyway), as well as oxalate level (collards with 9 mg more). Comparing only those two since it seemed Collards would always be an option as a staple on almost every site I visit, and Bok Choy is something readily available to me.
      I'm considering some form of Spring Mix / Salad Mix/ Mesclun Mix (minus the spinach), and maybe 30-40% Bok Choy.

      You can if you want but it’s perfectly fine to skip days even with a salad

    I still live with my family and they said "NO ROACHES!" is that possible?

    • @SunsetPanther
      @SunsetPanther 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      if your family is worried about for example dubia roaches accidently escaping, there is less of a chance because dubia roaches tend to stay in clusters and are slower. while crickets will run and jump away from you

    Fact .... bearded dragons love water but they will only drink it when its moving ♥️ i try and give mine water a couple times a week he'll let me know when he's thirsty because it's a practice that we've done his entire life and he's 4 , he'll constantly smack his lips and if I'm not looking he'll grey closer to my eat and get a little louder lol , they also love to swim but be sure to use caution when picking them up after they've spent time drinking because you can actually down them by holding them upright before their done i darn near made that mistake and i was scared so bad so please look up cautions for bearded dragons . Feed them fruit just not a monster load lol if you wanna tell them something super serous to not feed them tell everyone to not fed them mice 😔🤤😕😢😭

      Why no mice? When my beardie gets bigger i was looking into rat pups for calcium... is there a reason why they shouldn't have rodents?

      No cabbage too much goitrogens which interfere with thyroid activity that will lead to kidney damage.

    We give our 6 month old dragon 1/4” dubia roaches. Before finding this page, I read to feed her as many as she’ll eat in one sitting. That’s way more than you’re recommending! Any suggestions or tips?

    • @ChiefSweetsUniverse
      @ChiefSweetsUniverse  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No worries I used to recommend that as well but the whole hobby is changing how much we feed because we realize we were overfeeding our dragons. So now we are recommending a less but enough for your dragon to be full.

    “They don’t get alot of exercise”
    Then LET THEM OUT TO ROAM, DUHHHH

    • @ChiefSweetsUniverse
      @ChiefSweetsUniverse  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They have to have uvb exposure and heat to properly digest so it limits roaming time tremendously

    You should take Hissing Roaches off your list. They can not digest the shell, they are very bad for them. Also I would add NEVER feed your bearded dragon insects that are not farmed because they can have parasites.

    • @ChiefSweetsUniverse
      @ChiefSweetsUniverse  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I specifically mentioned baby hissers because they don’t have a hard shell at all. I feed them and breed them and they are very soft and an easy feeder.
