The music of Broken Vow was co-composed by Walter Afanassiev and Lara Fabian. Walter Afanassiev, an american/brazilian from russian descent, is a legendary composer and producer (he composed some of the greatest initial hits of Mariah Carey such as All I Want for Christmas is You or Hero and was the producer of the Titanic soundtrack that brought Celine Dion to WW fame). He is also now the producer of Dimash for his US career. When this song was composed, Walter and Lara were engaged, they were living in San Francisco’s bay area, but apparently he cheated and she decided to break up. When she took this decision, that she knew would dramatically change both her personal and professional destiny, she wrote these incredible lyrics. Lara has said this is her preferred english song from all the songs she wrote in this language (there are many, and some are pure jewels). One reason is also because this song has then been covered by the greatests: - Barbra Streisand (she performed it in concerts from one of her tour but never recorded it), - Josh Groban (his cover made this song famous in US, she is her friend and role model and he made several duets with her), - Cakra Khan, - Gigi de Lana, - Regine Velasquez, - Almira (from 4th Impact), - Katrina Velarde, - Julie Anne San Jose, - Sarah Geronimo, - Morissette Amon, - Petra Berger, - Harrison Craig, - Rimar, - Jackie Evancho, - … For Jackie Evancho, and at the request of Jackie's parents who found the original lyrics were not a good fit for a young girl, Lara rewrote Broken Vow in french as "Imaginer" with a complete different meaning. But the original from Lara remains the absolute reference th-cam.com/video/kJBGCI8aSE4/w-d-xo.html

More information on Lara Fabian: Lara is recognized as one of the best vocalist ever seen on earth and all professionals list her in the top vocalist tier with Barbra, Whitney, Mariah, Celine, Lisa Fischer, .... In my personal opinion, she is even the best. There are a few vocal characteristics that are her signature: her famous resonance for instance that allows her to sing acapella without mic in venues with 8,000 attendees. Her nickname in the singing world is "the ring" due to this. I would also list her amazing phrasing, breath management and her pleasant tone even when belting in her upper register. So she is one of the best vocalist ever, but on top of that, she adds a few things that make her an absolute package with no equivalence: • she speaks 2 languages natively (french, italian), and 2 others fluently (english, spanish), can speak a bit of dutch (and sicilian), and understand quite well russian and portuguese. She has sung in 12 languages in total • she is an amazing songwriter and wrote lyrics for most her songs, in the 4 languages she speaks fluently. She often co-composes the music with the composer. • she acts and performs on stage as nobody else, she colors and reveals the meaning of every single word in the songs, and her ability to emote, to draw you in is second to none • she is the sweetest soul on earth, very humble, down to earth and benevolent. She likes to meet others, and her fans are always pleasantly surprised when this happens. A quick background on her and her career: She is belgian, her father is flemish, but also has italian roots (her mother is from sicilia) and American roots ( her grandfather is from Detroit). She was raised in sicilia first then in Belgium so she speaks both italian and french as native languages. She has been classically trained on vocal, piano and songs composition for 10 years ( from 8 to 18) in the Brussels Royal Conservatory. She is still having vocal lessons and training several times a week today. She started her career in Canada in the early 90s, more precisely in Quebec, the french-speaking part of Canada. She had been living for years in Montreal and has also Canadian citizenship. She just moved back to Italy a few months ago (temporarily?). She became very famous in Quebec and then conquered France in 1996/1997 (she topped charts there and some of her songs such as "Je t'aime" or "Tout" became classics of the french music). In 2000, she was about to penetrate the US Market, with a lot of media initial interest. Her first english song (I will love again), a pop dance song, stayed number one on the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart for 58 weeks in a row and number 32 on the Billboard Hot 100. Her Album ("Lara Fabian") was about to become a massive hit, and the concert "From Lara With Love" was recorded to be broadcasted everywhere in the US. This concert is legendary, packed with masterpieces (covered by many great vocalists later on). But a dispute with Sony on artistry directions, and the will from Celine Dion's staff to block her progress in the US, completely broke this plan. She thus refocused back on Europe and made huge success there, extending her reach to Eastern Europe and Central Asia where she became an absolute superstar through her collaboration with Igor Krutoy during several years. She is absolutely massive in Russia for instance. She is also a star in Brazil as her song "Love By Grace", used as the soundtrack for a very famous soap opera, topped the charts for months and become a recurrent in the local singing contests since then. Many of her songs became classics and were covered by the other singing legends: Barbra Streisand, Shirley Bassey, Josh Groban (they are friends and he told she is a role model for him), … With her success in Europe, Brazil and part of Asia, she is the inspiration of the new generation of vocalists: most of them are coming from there. Thru their covers of Lara Fabian songs, USA and many other countries are now rediscovering her. She is Dimash's idol: I’ve read somewhere that, when he was a child, he was listening her songs every night to get asleep. He covered many of her songs, most of these were composed by Igor Krutoy and written by by Lara. Out of my mind I can list: ○ Adagio (She wrote it and is the original performer), ○ Mademoiselle Hyde (she wrote it and is the original performer), ○ Love of Tired Swans (she wrote the song in French under the title "Je t'aime encore" and was the original performer of the french then the russian versions, Dimash covered the russian version) ○ Ascolta La Voce / Vocalize (this was a pure vocalization and she was the original performer, then lyrics were added for Dimash and it was rebranded as "Know") She also wrote the lyrics of Dimash's song "Your Love". And she covered "Love is like a dream" before him (song from Igor Krutoy originally performed by Alla Pugacheva). Finally, they also performed "Ti Amo Cosi" together, in trio with Aida Garafulina: this is a song that she performed originally with Dmitri Hvorostovsky and Sumi Jo then again later with Dmitri and Alina Yarovaya, before this new trio with Dimash and Aida. Dimash is now also working with Igor Krutoy: Igor and Dimash connected after his Adagio cover, also endorsed by Lara. Igor came back from retirement and composed severals songs for him after it. Many other top vocalists from the current generation covered her songs, some have Lara as a role model and big inspiration: ○ Floor Jansen (Adagio), ○ Polina Gagarina (Adagio, Je t’aime), ○ Diana Ankudinova (Tomorrow is a lie), ○ Morissette Amon (Broken Vow), ○ Gabriel Henrique (Love by Grace), ○ Cakra Khan (Broken Vow), ○ Katrina Velarde (Broken Vow), ○ Regine Velasquez (Broken Vow), ○ Dmitri Hvorostovsky (Adagio), ○ Giulia Falcone (Adagio, Caruso, Je suis malade, Je t'aime), ○ Forestella (Je suis Malade), ○ Almira (from 4th Impact band) (Broken Vow), ○ Gigi de Lana (Broken Vow) ○ Julie Anne san Jose (Adagio, Broken Vow), ○ Rimar ( Adagio, Broken Vow, Know), ○ Il Divo (Adagio) ○ Daria Bentsa (I guess I loved you), ○ Sarah Geronimo (Broken Vow) ○ Laura Bretan ( Adagio, Caruso), ○ Jackie Evancho (Je t’aime, Caruso and Broken Vow, BV rewritten as « Imaginer » by Lara for Jackie), ○ Amir (Je t’aime), ○ Vitas (Adagio), ○ Anastasia Luna (Adagio), ○ Jeck (Je T’Aime), ○ Evgenia Fanfara (Adagio), ○ Anna Eriksson (Je suis malade), ○ Choi Sung Hoon (Je suis malade), ○ Soprano Turetsky band (Adagio) ○ Majda Roumi (Adagio), ○ Harrison Craig (Broken Vow), ○ Petra Berger (Adagio, Broken Vow), ○ Katerina Maslova (Je t’aime, I guess I loved you) ○ Sevara Nazarkhan (Je t’aime) ○ .... NB: Lara did cover Caruso , Je suis malade, and Love by grace, these are not her originals, but I mention these here as the related artists were attracted to cover it again after listening to Lara’s version. Today, Lara still has an amazing voice and tone and can still reach the 5th octave with resonance ; she still offers these emotive renditions that are her unique signature. In June 2022, she kicked off a WW tour and stunned her fans once again with 5 magical concerts in Canada. She completed the europe part in September/October and I attended a concert from this tour. It was packed and she was again spectacular. On April and May 2023 she had again a wonderful concerts in Tbilissi, Georgia, and in Ouzbekhistan and Kazakhstan. Sorry if I was long, but I hope this gives some context on Lara.
I am not a young person, and I have listened to many so called great singers. The first time I listened to Lara Fabian was when she sang this song a few years ago. Since then there is no turning back from her, she is among the top in my musical list. Amazing beautiful voice, so pleasing to hear, and as you said I really connect with her singing. Great that you discovered this beautiful artist.
Same here. I'm an old, metal/prog fart and I found out about her some five years ago. I've heard her name before, but I never took the time to listen, but when I finally did, I was sold. Not just as a singer, she is a complete performer, her stage presence, unquestionable vocal abilities, conveying emotions.... To me she is the Queen of Emotions. A true lady who doesn't need to show all the skin she has and be involved in scandals, she relies on her performance. I've been lucky enough to see her live last year. Twelve hours of driving there and back with a pretty heavy foot and I don't regret a second of it! There might be some better singers out there, but if you look at the complete performance and the positive attitude, she is as good as they come, to me, she is on the throne all by herself.
I've seen her live last year. A lot of years have passed since this performance, but she hasn't lost anything. Yes, she is older now, but she still looks beautiful without wanting to look young as most of women, especially in her position, do. She doesn't try to hide her age, she wears her years proudly and not pretending to be something she isn't. She hasn't lost in her vocal abilities either. To me, she is the best vocal performer out there. I intentionally didn't say singer, she is more than just a singer, she is a complete performer. A true lady and my Queen of Emotion.
Bravo! Bravo! Bravo! I was first introduced to Broken Vow by one of favorite musicians Josh Groban. I didn’t realized she was the writer of his song. Lara is haunting beautiful storyteller and vocalist!
Eric is the man! I fall in love every time i se Lara Fabian. ❤❤❤Laras voice is the most beautiful of her generation....For me...Nr ONE of all times. Thank you i loved your reaction.
OK, this is the story of that song, she wrote the lyrics and co-composed the music with the man who cheated on her, serious, you have to be (F&%?$*!@g) strong to do that. After that , she left the USA and went back home to Belgium at her parents place, heart broken for many years. 5-6 years later, the greatest music composer and producer from Russia Igor Krutoy brought her to Russia and Ukraine and the two of them have created some of the best songs in Lara's career.... Mademoiselle Zhivago (9 or 10 songs) she became #1 in all the countries of the ex-USSR and this is only a small part of her fabulous carer.
Meanwhile she had another heartbreaking love betrayal experience with a famous french singer named Patrick Fiori. Her love story with Walter A was in the 1997-1998 period and her love with Patrick was in the 1999-2001.
Josh Groban did a cover of this. I love Josh Groban but Lara's version is tops for me. I saw the original airing of "Lara with Love " when it was on public television many years ago. It took me years to be able to hear "Broken Vow" without crying. What a powerful song and performance. I love your reaction to it. It is a special song and Lara is a unique talent.
Consider yourself blessed for having discovered this greatest of artist. Every time I listen to her songs, it comes with a renewed freshness, like I haven't listened with full attention. To Lara too, it must bring fresh memories every time she sings this song. Indeed, it is something that happened to her in her earlier years. Above all, she has grown into the wonderful and beautiful woman she is today. You need a great thank you, for the respect and honor you show in your comments towards her. She deserves all of it and so much more. Also, among us male, you're one of a handful who is absolutely impressed, and very rightly so. Again, thank you for your heartfelt reaction. ❤
Nice reaction. We can see here that Lara can also shake the heart and the soul of big boys 😉. A simple personal reflection. If, in 1997, Lara had been chosen to sing the theme song of "Titanic", she would live in Beverly Hills and sing every night in Las Vegas... or not 😊. I prefer to keep her as she is, simple and above all... human.

Many Lara Fans can tell you about her but we'll let Eric do it, as he has so many details about her career. Yes Lara is not very well known in the United States even though she has a lot of Fans there. She could have joined the vocal Trinity and become the Quartet but perhaps that was not Sony Music's objective... Many vocal coaches say that Lara has a superior technique to Céline, Mariah or Witney but what is sure, it is that in terms of the transmission of emotions she is the Queen!

I heard a rumor because Lara Fabian came up a little after Celine Dion but they were known in the same circles Lara is from Brussels I believe but she took her career to Canada. The word on the street is that Celine Dion's husband who was a savage businessman made sure that Lara never became a star they were both signed to Sony records. There's no other explanation feasible why this woman wasn't the star in America that she should have been I think she had possibly two top 10 hits maybe just one. I think she has one of the most beautiful voices I've ever heard and she is stunning. Celine has never mentioned her Lara very rarely talks about her I know they competed at a songwriting contest at the same time they're around the same age. I think there were things going on in the background that stymied and limited Lara's reach. Her second language album was completely shelved I have it because it was available in the UK but it was not released in the United States and it's real good.
Céline made sure Lara never made a career in the States. She is dearly loved here in France because of her voice but also because she is such a nice genuine person. In my opinion she sings far better than Celine Dion. There was a rivalry between them but there was room for both of them - such a shame that jealousy and nastiness played such an important role.
So glad you are on the Lara journey. You're Not From Here will blow your mind and her biggest hit in English from the same album was I Will Love Again. A couple of artists with great voices who sang this song are Josh Groban and Linda Eder. I hope you can react to them sometime 😊.
An Australian young man who used to stutter sang this on the Voice in Australia as his first song, and actually went on to win it for that year. I think it cured his stutter as I’ve seen him since without it.
Indeed, agreed!! The vid with sub titles..n the interview upfront, just like this one ,and the outro ( MUST ) be watched..to fully grasp Miss Lara's investment, in that song!! Jus 🤷sayin!! 🪶👋🐺🎉🤙🪶
No-one tops the original. No-one does love and loss with the finesse and passion better. Lara rides that fine line between delivering the emotion whilst being in total control of every note and breath between. Every performance is a Master Class. You can see why Dimash cites her as a huge role model during his studies and since was thrilled to finally be able to sing with her. And as many Reactors - before you - have said; "Who the heck broke her heart!? What a Moron!" 😆 Lara is multi-lingual. She lived in Canada for a number of years, as well as her early years in Belgium Sicily and France. Stylistically there are some similarities with Celine Dion, as they studied classical and contemporary technique in / around the same era, but their voices and skills are very different. Keep enjoying your 'Lara Journey'. { Check out her 'Caruso'. Her 1999 version is simply stunning. To my mind; no-one has done it better. }
Hi, this song has been covered many Times, but no one can equal Lara when it Comes with delivering true emotions. BTW, you have never heard about her before, because of the Celine Dion's team: Dion's husband knew that if he let Lara do her way in the American music industry, his wife career would be over. Lara has many more talents than Dion: she is a song writer, she can fluently speak 4 languages, she is very fun. Moreover, I think most people find her more beautiful and kind than Dion. Last year, I was in one or her concerts: she was sick and could hardly speak (with a very low voice). But, once she started to sing, her voice was flawless, as usual. Many singers would have cancelled the concert, but not her..
As I much as I prefer Lara over Céline and as much bit...y René was to screw Lara's career, I don't think you're right: I think that Céline's career wouldn't be over because: -Céline's songs are more commercial; -There would be space for both in the USA because it's the biggest music industry in the world, so they could co-exist there, as they both did in Europe and other places.
@@vervideosgiros1156They're related in a funny way anyway, but Lara was unlucky. Céline won Eurovision for Switzerland and the same year Lara was 4th for Belgium. Céline recorded songs from successful films and Lara recorded the song from the only Spielberg film that didn't work, A.I. she still had a hit in the United States "I will love again" but Universal didn't let her to release ballads as singles, because that was Céline's territory.
Lara, now in her 50s, continues to write and perform music across many languages and styles. For the last 5 years or so her new music is very rhythmic. DJs around the globe have done dance remixes of her newer songs that are fantastic. Keep digging into her catalog. You have decades of music yet to discover!

I just discovered Lara Fabian just last year through a reaction video here on TH-cam. Since then I went down a deep, deep rabbit hole and found, watched, listened to just about everything she has ever done including all her albums, they are all here on TH-cam! I agree with you, I can say Lara Fabian is just about the most beautiful woman I have ever laid eyes on and then add her talent and voice, she's beyond description, she's absolutely stunning. Thank you for your comment it's an angel when she sing . you should listen to her song " your not from here " or Je suis malade " . thank you again super reaction thank's .
Thanks for the great reaction! You ask the question regarding her lack popularity in the US, and I have heard that back in the day she did sign a recording contract with Sony, which also had Celine D. on contract, which I've heard was not to Celine's team's liking at the time. Seems Lara was pushed more in the European Market as a result of this discourse and not promoted much in the US, as was Celine. She is extremely popular in Europe, Canada and China and probably a number of other places outside the US. I never did go back into the history of this, so I am sure others like Eric Sicard may know more of the particulars. I have never heard a bad song from Lara, so you have many more to choose from, but outside the concert, "From Lara with Love", you might want to have fun checking out her official US Video of her song, "I Will Love Again", which is more of a pop/dance song that she did early in her career. Caruso, Your not from here, Love by Grace and Tango are just a few others you may want to add to the list, but there are so many that I continue to discover since finding out about Lara 2 months ago. She also did a duet of the song, "The Prayer" with Michal Bolton that you may want to react to as well. As I'm a young (sometimes) 67, so its never too late to discover new things and glad I found Lara's music via TH-cam music reactions. Lara has become my new obsession as well, and she is definitely top tier, and likely on the top of my list. Looking forward to seeing and hearing more reactions of Lara's music on your channel.
@@reealisticallyreel9276 On vocal skills yes, I even prefer Lara’s velvety and fuller vocal tone. But when it comes to storytelling and emotions conveying, no comparison for me. In this domain, Celine is a dwarf and Lara an absolute giant.
"You're Not From Here" and "Loved by Grace" are from the same record as "I Will Love Again", from her "Lara Fabian (1998) album. It was her #4 album and her first in English.
If you had to face that heartache, face to face, would you really cheat or be a man or (woman) and end things before betraying that kind of love. So you don't love them anymore, cut them free with dignity.
Hello, merci de continuer à réagir à lara , tu n'est qu'au début de ton aventure avec lara . Oui lara à écris cette chanson est oui lara à était tromper par son compagnon . Barbra Streisand called Lara Fabian to ask if she could sing this song at one of her concerts. First Lara didn't actually believe it was Barbra calling her, so she hung up the phone😂 Then Barbra called back to say it was really her. And of course Lara said yes. So Barbra did also a rendition of this song, but I don't think there is an audio/video of that performance. I'm loving your reactions to Lara, so don't stop doing it. Greets from Belgium 🇧🇪 ❤
🇨🇦 Don't be surprised ! Below, Eric Sicard will tell you all about her languages ! Speaking, singing and even writing songs in multiple languages ! The concert you are watching was on television in Canada (where she now lives) and English comes naturally to her, as well as French ! One of my favourites is a Duet she sang with Johnny Hallyday (the French Elvis) LOL ! It is called "Requiem, pour un fou" ! But the song that tears at my heart every time is "You're not from here" !
There are no words my friend. The best female vocalist I have ever heard in my 70 years on this Earth. She has everything. Her beauty is beyond compare. You just fall in love not only with her performance but also with this beautiful woman. Whoever cheated on her needs his head examining !!
Jackie Evancho first blessed my ears with this song. you must hear her version as well. Its a beautiful song. Lara Fabian is world famous for sure. Exquisite feel. Fabian reminds me of Streisand. Greatness. Wonderful reaction. Thanks so much. We hear ya.
I believe Lara rewrote this song for Jackie to be more age for the very young and talented Jackie. I understand the rewritten version was called: Imaginer. I agree, Jackie is also a very talented performer.
Thanks for your remarkable reaction. Broken Vow was written from Lara's personal experience indeed. You can feel the reality of the lyrics piercing your heart and soul. I melt eveytime I watch this.
hello, Lara Fabian sings in more than 12 different languages and is fluent in French, Italian, English and Spanish, her musical repertoire is very varied and covers Barbara Streisand, Whitney Houston, Maria Caray, an exceptional and authentic artist and also a source of inspiration for many young singers like dimash she takes you on these journeys of the heart, of the soul, of the spirit, through the sound of her voice for the time of a song thank you Lara
If, by speak, you mean _fluently_ , then those languages would be: French Italian English and to a considerably lesser degree, Spanish ..which is understandable since it is the only one of this list that she hasn't an intimate familial connection with(having been raised with the aforementioned 3) so it can be a bit shaky at times, her ''español'' She does *not* 'speak' Portuguese or Dutch except for a few words or memorized phrases.
Hi from France ! Thank you for this very nice reaction. Once you have listened to a Lara song, you can only continue and you will never be disappointed. Unfortunately Lara started at the same time as Céline Dion but the advantage that Céline had was to marry a man very well known in the artistic world and who must have had a good number of contacts in his repertoire, Lara did not had this chance and this opportunity....
you're true, she's in the zone, and she brings us with her in it. If she stole you tears, everything's normal. By the time, i think she suffered from the comparison with Celine Dion but she's from an another world as well, for me, the same world as Teddy Pendergrass when he sang "all by myself" or Gladys Knight with "the way we were". thank you and cheerz from France
I believe Lara has blood from Belgium and was raised in Canada. She has a lot to do with Igor Krutoy too, so she is possibly fluent in Russian as well.
Her father is indeed from Belgium (flemish ascents), her mother from Sicilia. She was born in Belgium, then raised in Sicilia the first few years before returning to Belgium. Her grandfather is american from Detroit area. She had a first few records in Belgium, and a 4th place to Eurovision in 1988, then quickly migrated to Quebec when she was 20 yo and really kicked off her career over there, her first records being double or triple platinum. She also reached fame in France and all french-speaking countries in the late 90s. She then tried to break thru in the US. She did work with Walter Afanassiev and David Foster until her progress were blocked in the US by Sony. She then returned for a while in Europe and became her own producer. She had indeed a fruitful collaboration with Igor Krutoy from 2007 to 2012, where they co-created many songs together (music from Igor, lyrics by Lara) - many were covered by Dimash, Diana Ankudinova, Polina Gagarina, … - and she regularly appeared afterwards in the shows produced by Igor (until the show in 2019 with Dimash). She even sang in duet with Igor. Hope this helps on the sequence of events 😅
When I watch this, I realize the defference between her and so many other singers. She has a beautiful voice, but... instead of just singing the song, she is telling the story, like poetry. You can see it in her movements. That's the difference between a singer, and a great performer. Her performance gets your attention.
One reason is also because this song has then been covered by the greatests:
- Barbra Streisand (she performed it in concerts from one of her tour but never recorded it),
- Josh Groban (his cover made this song famous in US, she is her friend and role model and he made several duets with her),
- Cakra Khan,
- Gigi de Lana,
- Regine Velasquez,
- Almira (from 4th Impact),
- Katrina Velarde,
- Julie Anne San Jose,
- Sarah Geronimo,
- Morissette Amon,
- Petra Berger,
- Harrison Craig,
- Rimar,
- Jackie Evancho,
- …
For Jackie Evancho, and at the request of Jackie's parents who found the original lyrics were not a good fit for a young girl, Lara rewrote Broken Vow in french as "Imaginer" with a complete different meaning.
But the original from Lara remains the absolute reference

More information on Lara Fabian:
Lara is recognized as one of the best vocalist ever seen on earth and all professionals list her in the top vocalist tier with Barbra, Whitney, Mariah, Celine, Lisa Fischer, ....
So she is one of the best vocalist ever, but on top of that, she adds a few things that make her an absolute package with no equivalence:
• she speaks 2 languages natively (french, italian), and 2 others fluently (english, spanish), can speak a bit of dutch (and sicilian), and understand quite well russian and portuguese. She has sung in 12 languages in total
• she is an amazing songwriter and wrote lyrics for most her songs, in the 4 languages she speaks fluently. She often co-composes the music with the composer.
• she acts and performs on stage as nobody else, she colors and reveals the meaning of every single word in the songs, and her ability to emote, to draw you in is second to none
• she is the sweetest soul on earth, very humble, down to earth and benevolent. She likes to meet others, and her fans are always pleasantly surprised when this happens.
A quick background on her and her career:
She is belgian, her father is flemish, but also has italian roots (her mother is from sicilia) and American roots ( her grandfather is from Detroit).
She just moved
back to Italy a few months ago (temporarily?).
Many of her songs became classics and were covered by the other singing legends: Barbra Streisand, Shirley Bassey, Josh Groban (they are friends and he told she is a role model for him), …
With her success in Europe, Brazil and part of Asia, she is the inspiration of the new generation of vocalists: most of them are coming from there.
Thru their covers of Lara Fabian songs, USA and many other countries are now rediscovering her.
She is Dimash's idol:
I’ve read somewhere that, when he was a child, he was listening her songs every night to get asleep.
He covered many of her songs, most of these were composed by Igor Krutoy and written by by Lara.
Out of my mind I can list:
○ Adagio (She wrote it and is the original performer),
○ Mademoiselle Hyde (she wrote it and is the original performer),
○ Love of Tired Swans (she wrote the song in French under the title "Je t'aime encore" and was the original performer of the french then the russian versions, Dimash covered the russian version)
○ Ascolta La Voce / Vocalize (this was a pure vocalization and she was the original performer, then lyrics were added for Dimash and it was rebranded as "Know")
She also wrote the lyrics of Dimash's song "Your Love".
Many other top vocalists from the current generation covered her songs, some have Lara as a role model and big inspiration:
○ Floor Jansen (Adagio),
○ Polina Gagarina (Adagio, Je t’aime),
○ Diana Ankudinova (Tomorrow is a lie),
○ Morissette Amon (Broken Vow),
○ Gabriel Henrique (Love by Grace),
○ Cakra Khan (Broken Vow),
○ Katrina Velarde (Broken Vow),
○ Regine Velasquez (Broken Vow),
○ Dmitri Hvorostovsky (Adagio),
○ Giulia Falcone (Adagio, Caruso, Je suis malade, Je t'aime),
○ Forestella (Je suis Malade),
○ Almira (from 4th Impact band) (Broken Vow),
○ Gigi de Lana (Broken Vow)
○ Julie Anne san Jose (Adagio, Broken Vow),
○ Rimar ( Adagio, Broken Vow, Know),
○ Il Divo (Adagio)
○ Daria Bentsa (I guess I loved you),
○ Sarah Geronimo (Broken Vow)
○ Laura Bretan ( Adagio, Caruso),
○ Jackie Evancho (Je t’aime, Caruso and Broken Vow, BV rewritten as « Imaginer » by Lara for Jackie),
○ Amir (Je t’aime),
○ Vitas (Adagio),
○ Anastasia Luna (Adagio),
○ Jeck (Je T’Aime),
○ Evgenia Fanfara (Adagio),
○ Anna Eriksson (Je suis malade),
○ Choi Sung Hoon (Je suis malade),
○ Soprano Turetsky band (Adagio)
○ Majda Roumi (Adagio),
○ Harrison Craig (Broken Vow),
○ Petra Berger (Adagio, Broken Vow),
○ Katerina Maslova (Je t’aime, I guess I loved you)
○ Sevara Nazarkhan (Je t’aime)
○ ....

Thanks for sharing all this information about her. Very kind of you.
Queen Lara !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Our queen lara is the best !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
❤❤❤@@fifi23o5
I've seen her live last year. A lot of years have passed since this performance, but she hasn't lost anything. Yes, she is older now, but she still looks beautiful without wanting to look young as most of women, especially in her position, do. She doesn't try to hide her age, she wears her years proudly and not pretending to be something she isn't. She hasn't lost in her vocal abilities either.
To me, she is the best vocal performer out there. I intentionally didn't say singer, she is more than just a singer, she is a complete performer.
A true lady and my Queen of Emotion.
She always brings me to tears.
I think your appreciation, of Lara Fabien is wonderful..She is the Best

Merci Lara mérite d'être écoutée et apprécié de par le monde. Lara parle anglais italien Espagnol Portugais chante en 12 langues. C'est une grande auteur compositrice.

Καλώς ήρθες αγαπητέ στον μαγικό κόσμο της βασίλισσας μας.
@@maxinem.5539well then you havent heard Celine Dion raw . ….
Lara you are fabulous. But I think Celine is more talented . Vocally for sure.
Wow didn't know that! Thanks for that information, it all makes sense now!!
So glad you are on the Lara journey. You're Not From Here will blow your mind and her biggest hit in English from the same album was I Will Love Again. A couple of artists with great voices who sang this song are Josh Groban and Linda Eder. I hope you can react to them sometime 😊.

No-one tops the original. No-one does love and loss with the finesse and passion better. Lara rides that fine line between delivering the emotion whilst being in total control of every note and breath between. Every performance is a Master Class. You can see why Dimash cites her as a huge role model during his studies and since was thrilled to finally be able to sing with her. And as many Reactors - before you - have said; "Who the heck broke her heart!? What a Moron!" 😆
Lara is multi-lingual. She lived in Canada for a number of years, as well as her early years in Belgium Sicily and France.
Stylistically there are some similarities with Celine Dion, as they studied classical and contemporary technique in / around the same era, but their voices and skills are very different.
Keep enjoying your 'Lara Journey'. { Check out her 'Caruso'. Her 1999 version is simply stunning. To my mind; no-one has done it better. }
Great shout, but Julio does a version hard to better.
Only Lara and Julio can sing Caruso.
Lara always gives a heartfelt and emotional experience to her audience. This is my favorite of her songs and always chokes me up.
As I much as I prefer Lara over Céline and as much bit...y René was to screw Lara's career, I don't think you're right: I think that Céline's career wouldn't be over because:
-Céline's songs are more commercial;
-There would be space for both in the USA because it's the biggest music industry in the world, so they could co-exist there, as they both did in Europe and other places.
Lara confirmed, at least as far as Universal is concerned
@@vervideosgiros1156They're related in a funny way anyway, but Lara was unlucky. Céline won Eurovision for Switzerland and the same year Lara was 4th for Belgium. Céline recorded songs from successful films and Lara recorded the song from the only Spielberg film that didn't work, A.I. she still had a hit in the United States "I will love again" but Universal didn't let her to release ballads as singles, because that was Céline's territory.

We just love her.
I am blown away! ❤ her
Thanks for the great reaction!

"You're Not From Here" and "Loved by Grace" are from the same record as "I Will Love Again", from her "Lara Fabian (1998) album. It was her #4 album and her first in English.

Esattamente.
Lara is an exceptional singer in English;french!je t'aime
Lara needs to come to the US for a concert.
The way you reacted to Lara made me subscribe to your channel. ❤
Love you for just loving Lara 🥰

@@CVTECK1 😉
This lady sounds like a Disney princesse ❤
Lara est un diamant pur ❤️
Thanks for your remarkable reaction. Broken Vow was written from Lara's personal experience indeed. You can feel the reality of the lyrics piercing your heart and soul. I melt eveytime I watch this.
Actually one of the saddest songs I've ever heard
hello, Lara Fabian sings in more than 12 different languages and is fluent in French, Italian, English and Spanish, her musical repertoire is very varied and covers Barbara Streisand, Whitney Houston, Maria Caray, an exceptional and authentic artist and also a source of inspiration for many young singers like dimash she takes you on these journeys of the heart, of the soul, of the spirit, through the sound of her voice for the time of a song thank you Lara
It doesn't get any better man... Great reaction video.
She's the one and only that sings like an angel.
She spreak english spanish portugues italian and dutch❤
You forgot french (natively) and a bit of russian
Also she sings in Hebrew
If, by speak, you mean _fluently_ , then those languages would be:
French
Italian
English
and to a considerably lesser degree, Spanish ..which is understandable since it is the only one of this list that she hasn't an intimate familial connection with(having been raised with the aforementioned 3) so it can be a bit shaky at times, her ''español''
She does *not* 'speak' Portuguese or Dutch except for a few words or memorized phrases.
@@ruego-qj7bt She can definitely have a conversation in Portuguese
Every line is devastating.
yep
lara its the most big singer in the world
Thankyou for your amazing reaction.
Miss Fabian is absolutely amazing in this song. ❤
Lara is probably one of the best singers in the world and a beautiful person.
Listen to Adagio and you will be convinced !
Hola, te recomiendo De Lara Fabián PERDERÉ EL AMORE y CARUSO ❤ Belleza 🇪🇸👏👏
Hi from France !
Thank you for this very nice reaction. Once you have listened to a Lara song, you can only continue and you will never be disappointed. Unfortunately Lara started at the same time as Céline Dion but the advantage that Céline had was to marry a man very well known in the artistic world and who must have had a good number of contacts in his repertoire, Lara did not had this chance and this opportunity....
Lara is the only one singer who plays with her breathing to add more emotions when she sings ....
Don't overlook Julio when it comes to breathing technique, hence, only Lara and Julio are allowed to sing Caruso, in my mind.
This was more then 20 years ago. She is now happily married and has 2 children. And she is still performing and loved by her fans.
Shes fantastic she have music in brazilian portuguese than native brasilians cant sing
Meu Grande Amor
i will look into those
you're true, she's in the zone, and she brings us with her in it.
If she stole you tears, everything's normal.
By the time, i think she suffered from the comparison with Celine Dion but she's from an another world as well, for me, the same world as Teddy Pendergrass when he sang "all by myself" or Gladys Knight with "the way we were". thank you and cheerz from France
❤❤❤ have a good day
I believe Lara has blood from Belgium and was raised in Canada.
❤❤❤❤❤
Lara is now 53 and still stunning. Quite a few singers have covered this song. I think Eric Sicard has them in his list.
When I watch this, I realize the defference between her and so many other singers. She has a beautiful voice, but... instead of just singing the song, she is telling the story, like poetry. You can see it in her movements. That's the difference between a singer, and a great performer. Her performance gets your attention.
