I went to the same high school as Nell Carter in Arthur Harold Parker Birmingham, Alabama. In my senior year of 1982 she came to visit the school in a fur coat in June. It didn’t matter to me or anyone else we were just excited to see an alumni like her that had done so well.
I don't know why, but I often have dreams of Nell singing....to me or others. All I can say is she is always happy and is a wise mentor through her songs.🥰

I saw Nell Carter in the Musical, Ain't Misbehaving on Broadway in New York city in the late 70s! Nell was absolutely incredible! What an an amazing vocalist she was! She was talented beyond words!! Her comedic timing was so on point! She left us too soon! RIP Nell. 💘 🙏

Always loved her especially since she reminded me of a dear friend, Mary Ann who help me with my four children and sang in church. She also had a beautiful voice. She died too but of breast cancer. We knew so little back then. May they both rest in peace 🙏🏼

Thank God I beat all that and today trying to live a normal life. I bought that up because I think by Nell Carter getting raped at gun point, and lost her father at a young age lead her to the drugs, alcohol, and most of the troubles in her life. I truly know what she went through. May she Rest In Peace.
