Actually, her religious beliefs were a continuation of her suffering from mental health issues. She was sexually and physically abused as a child, abused drugs, had volatile relationships with men, married an eventual murderer 1 month after she met them, believed that she saw and spoke to Jesus, claimed that she was possessed by demons, and claimed that she had psychic powers. She was set up to be a very unhappy person because of how she was abused as a child. And sadly, she spent her whole short life chasing after happiness and peace but never found it.
I was going through job problems some years ago and I made a Facebook post about it and she encouraged me and told me to pray and let Jesus handle it. It was definitely what I needed to hear at that moment. May her beautiful soul continue to rest in peace ❤️❤️
"She was childlike in her exuberance for God. She loved and trusted him wholeheartedly. Heaven is hers" ......That was so beautifully said!! That's how I want my relationship with Christ to be. It's hard to leave worldly things behind to pursue the Lord but I know it can be done cause hes shown me how much hes loves me even thru all my faults and mess ups. Denise is such an inspiration. May she rest in heavenly peace. ❤
Yes sister it can be done let no man tell you different. The same spirit that raised Jesus from the dead is that SAME SPIRIT that CAN and WILL keep you from sin and the world and it’s lusts. Believe that.
I know she walked away and died to her old self and didn’t want any parts of “Vanity” She deserved that money she earned. God uses our past mistakes and lives as a testimony to further the kingdom. But being she was so strong in faith I hope she was at peace and happy in knowing she finished life doing her fathers business! May she Rest In Peace.
I can understand that sentiment, but that’s not how a true Christ-led life works. When you surrender to Him, you surrender all and He wipes your slate clean. When she decided to dedicate her life to Christ’s mission, she did so with the understanding that He would provide her with the means necessary to live and further His ministry. You cannot use the tainted fruit of a bad tree for good. 💙

I am not religious but through my vast experiences as a grown adult (I'm age 36 will be 37 this year 2021). I can see why Denise Matthews didn't want to have Vanity attached to her anymore. Because as the years went on, that specific energy of her past would be on her conscious. She decided to let her past self be where it was...in the past.

Beauty can be a curse, she lived so fast, and died so young. That sounds cliché but it's true in (hellywood) that life will destroy your soul. Rest in peace Denise.💖🙏🏾 (Finally).😑🌹
Beauty is not a curse...although being beautiful will bring the evil of lust that some people will super impose their behavior on someone who is beautiful, therefore the curse is truly the devil inside of those types of people who will do that
4:21.. Every man in her background was watching Her! She was Such a Beautiful Woman 🥀 Yet, what was Even More Beautiful was her Love for God and Jesus🙏May She Rest in Heaven ❤️
I didn't initially like Vanity, but I grew to love her work particularly as an actress. I was elated when she became saved and turned her life around. RIP and may God bless her soul.
Growing up in the 80s, I thought Denise Katrina Matthews aka Vanity was one of the most beautiful and talented women I had ever seen. I always thought she and Prince were connected. The song Romantic Voyage always gets to me. 😔🙏🏾♥️🕊️
She stayed stunningly beautiful till the day she passed. She lived a life of pretty privilege that pretty much killed her. She was taught at a young age that her beauty and sexuality was her currency. As a woman I'm sorry she had to go through that. I'm happy she got reborn and died happy. I loved her when I was young, she was everything. I loved and respected her more by the time she passed. I actually emailed her earlier that year before she passed.
@@TheBLACKboard65 ok so u can calm the fuck down because you clearly missed the whole point of what I said! Pretty privilege is real even of you don't like that fact.
@@marceejohnson4113 what was your point? Please define privilege? Seems to me that being ‘pretty’ didn’t work for her. Privilege means you get by on doing nothing. It is an overused and misused word. Pretty inside, pretty outside. She seemed like a nice person. People used the fact that she was pretty and loyal against her out of jealousy. Maybe Prince was fearful that she would and could get more ‘d’ than him. That’s not privilege.

She said" it's like looking at satan and she left it at that.. she was very kind and a sweet soul.. may she rip..
Vanity dated Andre Cymone right after she left Prince and if that wasn't Satan, what is cuz Prince lived with Andre when they were coming up and they were like brothers.
Wow!! Let me ask you this just to receive clarification. Did she say working with Prince was like LOOKING at Satan or did she say WORKING?? Either way that made my mouth drop 😮

I have to say, she was very nice and truly one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen..still to this day. Her skin was flawless. Her smile was beaming.. her figure was amazing..she really was a Star.. I can totally see why.
Thank you so much for creating this. I've felt a deep connection to Denise Matthews after I discovered her only about a year ago (I know-- SUPER late to the game!), but as both a former addict as well as a woman of God, I feel like her story should be more widely known. She was a GOOD WOMAN-- one of the best. Did I mention talented and beautiful, to boot? RIP, sweet Denise.
Amen, she changed her life around for the better. I'm glad she was able to start over and give her life to God. May she Rest In Peace🙏🏼💗🙏🏼 love you Vanity
Love Vanity so much! I have her two albums on vinyl, along with the Vanity 6 album. I listen to her all the time. It's very sad that she lived such a tragic life, but I'm glad she was able to turn her life around and do what she wanted on her own terms. Her music is truly a gift to humanity.
Very beautiful lady. I am glad God gave her a chance to change and she took full advantage Fighting demons of the past can be hard. Many cannot overcome it, R.I.P Denise , Heaven has a beautiful angel
Learning about how tragic her early life was, made me very sad. She was so talented and beautiful! I loved listening to her singing, especially Mechanical Emotion and some of her other songs! Drugs become the downfall of many people, but abuse from a parent; the person that you're supposed to trust and learn from; the people who are supposed to love and protect you, is just horrible! It's Evil! I'm happy that she sought out God and turned her life around! Another Angel is singing in God's Heavenly Choir!
I absolutely loved this woman's femininity. She had a fearlessness on that stage that nobody else during that time of the 80s had the guts to portray and make it look easy. While Im a fan of Nikki Sixx, I really think she would've been good with Slash from Guns'N'Roses. Either way, she will ALWAYS be remembered as one of the best to ever do it. Get ur rest Queen 👑
its a shame the way Vanity and Nikki both treated eachother :( they both deserved the best and then they met while at the darkest times of their lives.
I thought the way Nikki portrayed her in his book was very disrespectful. It seemed very one sided. He downplayed her talent and at one point said "she claimed to be a backup singer or something for Prince". It's like dude she fronted Vanity 6! Was signed to Motown and had a ton of acting roles. Apparently he could be the only star in his world. I grew up liking Nikki but after hearing that lost all respect for him. He just seemed very misogynistic and full of himself. R.I.P Denise Matthews 💗
@@blahblah606 alot of the times when dealing with an addict, ur not getting the real person, u get the drug fueled, selfish, cold version of the person. He was on mind altering drugs at the time so many things he may have said or done, he wouldn't have done sober. It's not an excuse because it's wrong to treat anyone unkind but being that I have dealt with drugs first hand, u can make ppl hate u cause ultimately, u hate urself at that time.
@@blahblah606 Nikki Six was lucky to have a woman like Vanity. I heard about how he treated her and got very angry. Vanity was beautiful inside and out n deserved so much more in the men she dated.
Sad, such a beautiful woman, grew up listening to her and watching her, and like a lot of teenage boys at the time, I had a huge crush on her. Glad she found God in later years, but knowing how she died is a real stark reminder of how destructive drugs are, the main thing is, she admitted and took responsibility for her life, and never blamed anyone else. I truly believe she is happier now and doesn't have to suffer in this cursed world. RIP Denise, you deserve it.

@Mira M what does halle riding for women of all shades have to do with anything and they were both gorgeous women of mixed black and white race and praised for their beauty thats why
Beauty can be a curse, she lived so fast, and died so young. That sounds cliché but it's true in (hellywood) that life will destroy your soul. Rest in peace Denise.💖🙏🏾 (Finally).😑🌹
She died in her 50's. That's not so young. Most people don't make it past their 50's.
And it drastically AGES U, 2
Dat's Why Iin hang wit people like dat.
"U hang wit 9, U will be 10...."
Beauty is not a curse...although being beautiful will bring the evil of lust that some people will super impose their behavior on someone who is beautiful, therefore the curse is truly the devil inside of those types of people who will do that
One of my favorite songs by Vanity was a song she did as a solo artist called Pretty Mess. The video was nice too.
"Under the Influence" is my favorite and "He's So Dull" is my favorite Vanity 6 song.
Mechanical motion was my jam with Morris Day.
Imma listen 🎧 to it ‼️👍 thanks 😊 sharing
Yes she was looking so good in that video
4:21.. Every man in her background was watching Her! She was Such a Beautiful Woman 🥀 Yet, what was Even More Beautiful was her Love for God and Jesus🙏May She Rest in Heaven ❤️
It only looks like the one guy on the left is looking at her.
She is in his presence now. No pain, no suffering and she as promised will soon be with those that love him.
The Last Dragon movie still a classic!!
I know I got that on my Prime Video app
That's one of my favorite 1980s Movie Ever between Leroy & Laura💕
Always!!
Sho' Nuff..

THIS WAS A BEAUTIFUL tribute to Ms. Denise. Excellent Job. Well done.
This is the most comprehensive clip on her life that I've seen on here. Great job!
Rest in Eternal Peace Denise ❤️
She was a beautiful lady and she went through so much but the best thing of she gave her life to God 🙏
Denise paid for my cat's surgery around 2008. Denise was a lovely woman.
I didn't initially like Vanity, but I grew to love her work particularly as an actress. I was elated when she became saved and turned her life around. RIP and may God bless her soul.
That’s sad. She was beautiful. An icon of the 80’s. I’m glad to know she was saved. RIP Denise.
Good. In the end, she ended up going home with the Lord to live in peace happily ever after. And that is truly the end.
Growing up in the 80s, I thought Denise Katrina Matthews aka Vanity was one of the most beautiful and talented women I had ever seen. I always thought she and Prince were connected. The song Romantic Voyage always gets to me. 😔🙏🏾♥️🕊️
Yes she was very beautiful with a kind heart may she rest in paradise
she was one of the most beautiful
Yes! I love Romantic Voyage song too!
RIP Denise! God let her shine her light on this world and he's called her back home now. May she live on through the lives she has touched.
She was gorgeous!!! RIP Denise Matthews!! ❤❤❤❤
So I guess being "pretty" is not always a privileged existence now is it?
Get outta here with that "pretty privilege" crap! If you don't like the way you look take it up with God!
@@lorrainejurdana-land3782 exactly my point
This woman was SOOO Fine.
Bernadette Stanis, Sheryl Lee Ralph and Denise Matthews were my first childhood to young man crushes.
R.I.P. Denise; Rest Easy, Queen.
The second I heard 'Nasty Girl' on the airwaves, I immediately went out & bought the Vanity 6 album. She has always been a part of my life & I will love & miss her til the day I take my last breath. Heaven is hers...
Brought tears to my eyes tears 😢
I met & spoke with ms Matthew's at a church in Richmond in 2014..she was speaking that service.. she was very passionate of her love for Jesus.. afterwards we had a big luncheon and she went and tried to make her way to all of us there..I asked her what was it like to be working with prince.
I remember being a young boy in the 80's and my dad and I was watching Action Jackson and I was hypnotized by this woman beauty. I remember telling my dad that lady is very pretty and he was liked boy that's the one and only Vanity but of course I didn't know who she was back then.
She was such a beautiful woman went through alot of terrible things in her life that she didn't deserve to go through no one deserves the trauma she went through she is now with God RIP Denise your safe now.
One of the most stunning women i have ever seen in my life! RIP beautiful....
I totally love Denise Matthews, may she enjoy eternal companinionship and communion with the Lord Jesus Christ.
She lived the true meaning of being SOLD OUT for JESUS CHRIST! ❤
I hope you do another Life and Sad Ending stories on Big L, Big Pun, Nate Dogg, Shakir Stewart, Chris Lighty, Michael Clarke Duncan, Lee Thompson Young, etc.
Great suggestions! 😉
@@JuicyPopEntertainment I love all of your videos. Thank you.
Right not to mention the ones we lost in the last year
I met her in Dallas on her promotional tour many years ago. I was working with a photographer who was photographing her.. I was up close and personal..
This was touching to watch & hear. I grew up listening to her. May God continue to rest her soul.
Thank you for this.
Amen, she changed her life around for the better. I'm glad she was able to start over and give her life to God. May she Rest In Peace🙏🏼💗🙏🏼 love you Vanity
I wanted to be Vanity growing up. The Last Dragon will always be a Classic movie. RIH QUEEN.
What a life to live.
I am glad God gave her a chance to change and she took full advantage
Fighting demons of the past can be hard. Many cannot overcome it, R.I.P Denise ,
Heaven has a beautiful angel
🙏🏾🙏🏾 She is greatly missed.
Such an insanely beautiful woman who went through more than any of us could imagine
Heaven is HERS. That’s absolutely right! She had a veritable hell to pay, throughout her time spent on earth. Now she is free. RIP, Denise. 🙏🏿😇
She definitely lived the true meaning of being SOLD OUT for CHRIST!
Spiritual goals!
she went through so much in her life.
I don’t think Denise would think she had a sad death… yes she was young but I believe she was at peace with God
Amen!
Yes! One of the few who really got saved.
I had the honor of meeting her. She was a phenomenal evangelist and preacher of the Gospel!
“Nasty Girl” is my song 🎶 🎶
Vanity was soooo beautiful 😍😍❤️ may she continue to R.I.P.
Get ur rest Queen 👑
love Sixx AM's- lies of the beautiful people.
its a shame the way Vanity and Nikki both treated eachother :( they both deserved the best and then they met while at the darkest times of their lives.
Rest in peace Vanity.
I miss her.
You know she renounced that name right? She wouldn’t allow anyone to call her what she used to be
This lady totally have my full respect not only as a beautiful lady and especially with a beautiful heart
This was simply lovely. The very last few statements gave me a jubilant feeling after so much tragic news. Thank you!
And all this means nothing now. She walks in fields of Glory now, seeing things we can't comprehend. Bless her.
SHE WAS SO BEAUTIFUL...MY 1'ST KRUSH BACK N DA 80'S...R.I.P. VANITY😘❤🙏🏾
She was insanely beautiful. Not many women can touch her beauty nowadays. A true natural beauty
Your right on that I wish their was doe
Yes, she was stunning. May she rest in peace🙏🏾♥🕊'🌹
Rest in Gods Perfect Peace🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
