My xB is getting a little old now lol and I’m thinking doing this is a great idea, especially because of my stereo system. I’ve been noticing more of a drop in RPMs sometimes depending on what type of music is on, so this along with the system the way it is might improve things a bit. Bad grounds are the cause of a lot of vehicle electrical issues, so this is def something that can only help, if not improve.
Great video, you should do a video switching the xb front wiper steering switch and swapping it for an intermittent wiper delay switch from a 2003 Pontiac vibe, great mod.
Well done man! I know a black 4g wire would make it look cleaner for the alt. But understand that is how the kit comes and some people prefer to keep the positive wires red. Anyways love the video, and see you next Tuesday.
Yeah, wire is wire it doesn't matter what color the insulation is, but I always like to keep things legit when it comes to the electrical system. I don't want to confuse anyone.
Good video bud, has more potential. I'd suggest 1/0 audio cable, or 2/0 welding cable, for this application. I'd suggest investing in a hydraulic press ($40-60 on amazon) since you appear to do this often enough to invest in one. This way you can properly press any gauge wire. I'd also suggest to invest in a drill/driver steel brush attachment to peel away paint from area you bolt to. Then cover up with some sort of rust proof silicone paint. This way you get pure metal contact on your bolt spot. You can also get multi spot SAE terminals to place multiple wires on a single terminal for your battery. Last, but not least, for the life of God upgrade your battery. That walmart brand won't help with heavy electrical. Upgrade your car to a XS Power battery or a Northstar battery. Overall a good video and your car deserves it plus you'll thank yourself with all the electrical demands. Cheers!
