      I simply swapped out my headlights for LED lights, added a cap and no more voltage drop / dimming lights. Swapping out your halogens for LED's take a lot of load off the 12v system.

    My xB is getting a little old now lol and I’m thinking doing this is a great idea, especially because of my stereo system. I’ve been noticing more of a drop in RPMs sometimes depending on what type of music is on, so this along with the system the way it is might improve things a bit. Bad grounds are the cause of a lot of vehicle electrical issues, so this is def something that can only help, if not improve.

    Well done man! I know a black 4g wire would make it look cleaner for the alt. But understand that is how the kit comes and some people prefer to keep the positive wires red. Anyways love the video, and see you next Tuesday.

  • @bda2672
    @bda2672 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Good video bud, has more potential. I'd suggest 1/0 audio cable, or 2/0 welding cable, for this application. I'd suggest investing in a hydraulic press ($40-60 on amazon) since you appear to do this often enough to invest in one. This way you can properly press any gauge wire. I'd also suggest to invest in a drill/driver steel brush attachment to peel away paint from area you bolt to. Then cover up with some sort of rust proof silicone paint. This way you get pure metal contact on your bolt spot. You can also get multi spot SAE terminals to place multiple wires on a single terminal for your battery. Last, but not least, for the life of God upgrade your battery. That walmart brand won't help with heavy electrical. Upgrade your car to a XS Power battery or a Northstar battery. Overall a good video and your car deserves it plus you'll thank yourself with all the electrical demands. Cheers!

    Man I just started doing some work on my 2004 xb...mainly tune up. spark plugs and coils pack, Oxygen sensors up & down stream,, camshaft, max airflow, Solenoid. every was good and smooth until I got to the throttle body IAC 2 vac house. The must uncomfortable throttle body I’ve ever worked on. there’s hardly enough room to remove those house clamps and the vac house were like glued on to the IAC. What’s going on brother. Just wanted to say huge fan of Toaster Tuesday. It has definitely been encouraging me to put a lot of more work into my box as well. I’m actually putting the system in 2- 10in subs with 500watt amp, as well as an amp for all my speakers and deck. No. There aren't really any options for the xB, unless you with a stand alone ECU.

    Silly question? Why is this important? What happens to the old wires or are they not there? Thank you.

      They stay there. You don't mess with them. You just add these.

    i totally get "the big 3", but why are you running two dedicated aftermarket cables from battery Neg to chassis? (usually factory cable Plus one dedicated chassis ground is adequate......)

      I have a unique set up. I'm running a smaller battery because of my intake and I had to reroute things to make it all work. While doing so, I upgraded the stock wiring.

    Noob question. Never heard of a big 3 upgrade and you said at the end of the vid your volts were higher than normal. What exactly does higher volts mean for the xB??

      I should have done a better job explaining it; The Big 3 ensure that your electrical system is working as efficiently as possible. Since I am running a smaller battery and have recently replaced my alternator, I want to make sure that the electrical system stays strong. I will also be installing a amp and sub in the future, which will draw more power from the electrical system. I hope that answers your questions. Thanks for watching!
