I definitely don't think people should hate him but I also think it's not healthy even if it seems like it makes him happy. He needs to learn he is able of real love not that of a hologram. Otherwise we would have been born with a hologram or ingrained desire to love a hologram. But it's not like that it's not healthy. It's not right for him.

Ok imma be real, and I know you will hate me for this: he needs help. It's obvious that he has suffered a lot throughout his life, and he even said it himself that he was bullied and had to stop work. That alone is already indication. I'm not saying this to ridicule or slander him in any way, but rather it's because I see him as someone who seems to be deprived with a lot of things in life. He is a very kind man with a chill demeanor, and I like that about him. But I can't deny that he really needs help.

Its just the result of a long term course of constant rejection, isolation and not being able to find validation. He just wanted someone to be there for him and he could never find that someone. To escape from such a dystopia and seek validation, he turned to something that is not real but still gave him a sense of validation, a 2-D waifu. He also knows that its not real but still better than nothing.
One of the reasons Miku became so popular is that she is a nothing but a synthesized voice that has no personality or appearance you have to stick to. Most of it is up to the music producers and illustrators. If you want, you could depict Miku as a blue dot. The famous Vocaloid producer Wowaka added abstract monochrome backgrounds to his Miku songs. I just don't see how you can fall in love with a voice that has no real personality. I love Miku a lot too, I'm a huge Vocaloid fan, but what I like most about Miku is her lack of personality. She is like a blank sheet you can use to create your own story. The sad thing is that this guy might claim that he is married to Miku, but if someone else bought her software and made her say how much she hates this guy, it would be equally true because no one can claim that they control the 'real version of Miku'. That aside, this guy seems pretty alright, and the interviewer seems respectful.
EDIT: many people seem to think this guy is a pedophile since Miku's canon age is 16. I would like to clarify that many Vocaloid producers do not stick to Miku's canon age and depict her as older or younger in their songs, the same counts for the Kagamine twins. The canon ages of Vocaloids are points of reference: you can use them but you don't have to.
I just love the fact that she's not judgemental at all during the interview she's not offensive even in her way to respond. If he's happy it's all that matters

When I first saw this story I identified myself because my life is very similar to his, I also was bullied and rejected my whole life and I have never had a relationship, like him I'm not ugly I'm a normal person but I suffered bullying at school, at work and in my neighborhood, after that I moved to another city and left my job, in the new place nobody makes me bullying anymore but everyone rejects me and ignores me, I started to listen k-pop music and I fell in love to one of the members of tomorrow x together k-pop band, like this Japanese guy has a lot of things of miku I have a lot of things of kang taehyun of txt and for me is my boyfriend, I made myself a weeding ring and I listen to his songs and watch videos of him every day, so I understand this guy because I don't want to have a real relationship either.
I rather someone be happy living the way they want rather than suicide bc they are unhappy. He is not causing anyone harm. I just hope he stays happy.

I honestly can relate to this guy. Having a crush on anime characters really makes me less interested to real men. All in my life I had decided to be single because of these husbandos. Though there are some real guys that are handsome, they are just as not as handsome as those anime guys. There was this anime guy that I liked. I started liking him one year ago. He wasn’t very popular since he only appeared few times in the anime, but he was in a popular fandom and there are also fangirls of him who loved making AMVs of him. I felt that of all my husbandos, this one has become my favorite, as if of all the husbandos that I’ve loved, this was the one that I’ve married. Though I’m not like this guy whose the displays of his waifu are everywhere since I’ve kept him a secret to everybody, sometimes I will think of him usually whenever I listen to music during long drive.
