The fact that he finds more joy in a fictional character than real people says a lot about how bad this man has been treated. That’s so sad, and sadly I think many others are in the same boat. I follow him on twitter and read his tweets, he's a kind man. I find his story and every interviews very inspiring. He had a sad past that left him broken and hurting, but he picked himself back up with the help of his wife. Since he's not hurting anyone by marrying Hatsune Miku, I personally think he is more deserving of respect and that he is more of a man than bad people who would abuse or cheat on their partners.
It's sad that he was bullied enough to be so traumatized, but I'm glad he found his own happiness despite all that. He even encourages people who would love to marry fictional characters not to be afraid and to embrace their love for them. Wishing him and people like him all the best. ❤️

    • @gaijinyade
      @gaijinyade ปีที่แล้ว

      He is hurting himself.
Living in delusion is not a good solution to self-hatred.
It is similar to the trans shit, they hate themselves so much the only thing left to do is change their entire physiology.
It is closely related mental illness cause by self-hatred.
The sad state of mental health services in Japan is partly to blame for this.
But he could have worked through it...
Instead, he is now most likely never going getting to resolve his trauma, and find a real life partner.
This guy now resigns himself to a life of never ending loneliness with people like you cheering him on for it.
Nobody wants to live in a fake delusional state, and he knows somewhere that is what he is doing.
But he thinks that is all that is possible for him, thanks to not only bullies that traumatized him but people that pretend that this is fine, it is not.
He is going to die, never knowing what it was like to be loved by a partner, to love someone.
And you want to celebrate this?
It is potentially even more cruel than his bullies, because it is far more sinister when it comes disguised as support.
It is not supportive, lying to people to placate their delusions is not kind it is deeply cruel.

His story interested me a lot. I was bullied at school because i felt (and i fall ) in love just with fictional characters. I believed of having some mental illness because of that. I believed of being the only person feeling this kind to emotion. But after found others like me on the Internet and saw this guy now i feel of being a normal person and i am more in peace with myself 😊.

When my daughter was little she carried a stuffed toy dog with her every place. It made her feel connected and grounded in unfamiliar situations. It helped her feel safe. It seems like this is what this man is also doing...after being bullied for so long, he's created his own friend to carry with him in tough moments. It might be easier to love his 2d being because she will never hurt him. He said it saved his life, so he must have had suicidal thoughts in the past, and that is awful & sad.
What needs to be fixed is the culture of adult bullying in the work place. No one should feel alone like that man did.

This. It says more about the society a person lives in than it does about them, that they get to that point in their mental health where their only hope is in a fictional character. He has a life sized doll of this character in his bed. She wears a wedding ring. Do you understand what he is doing to this doll in his private time? Note she is modelled on a young girl. Also note, Japan is leading the way in s*x dolls and robots who are all modelled on young girls and women. This man hasn't just "married" a 2D hologram, he has 3D versions. Also, this is gonna be an unusual parallel but as a doctor, I appreciated how non-judgemental you were when you were interviewing him.
Patients come to me with all sorts of stories. Embarrassing stories, dark stories, and many things they wouldn’t tell anyone else.
Whilst someone else’s world may be externally inconsistent from your own, you have to realise as a doctor and as a human that there is an internal logic and consistency within the context of that person’s whole life. Just like this gentleman, on the outside, the initial impression may be “what, he married Hatsune Miku?!” - but just asking him, it made total sense in his world. It’s hard to be judgmental to people when you bring yourself to think, “if I had the same set of circumstances and I was just wired a little differently, I would be exactly the same.”
It genuinely means a lot to the people who you accept non-judgementally, to be heard like that.

For the people who won't watch the whole video and make fun about this guy. He's fully aware that it's a character, that is not real and that has no feelings.
He's married to her because he needed someone, which he never got, making him look for anything that could help him, and he found it with Miku, a friend that wouldn't say mean things to him, wouldn't judge him nor would leave him.
I personally understand all he says because I don't like the majority of flesh-and-blood people nowadays. It's so hard to find someone who isn't fake. Doing something like this sounds a thousand times better than having to deal with a real relationship (to me).

Akihiko-san is so relatable, throughout my life the only ones who actually were by my side are my favorite fictional characters, most people were so mean to me and I went through horrible things.
Now have been with my fictional boyfriend for years, I wish I could officially marry him like how Akihiko-san did with miku, but unfortunately, I'm crushed under the reality that most humans are gross and horrible, they probably won't let me live in peace if I do such a thing.
Nowadays I like spending most of my time alone, for I accepted the fact that real humans can't be befriended, I learned how to interact with them if I needed something but that's as far as it goes, I don't want any sort of relationship with them.
Akihiko-san, my intuition tells me you are a kind person, maybe if we had different circumstances and we were both in Japan, we might have become friends?
Regardless, I think you are do brave, me and Satoshi (my fictional boyfriend) wish you happiness from the button of our hearts.

I don’t know what else to say other than I agree whole heartedly and know exactly what you two are feeling. I feel like there are a lot more of us out there, but we’re such shut-ins (for very good reason) that it’s hard to tell. Personally, if I could marry a fictional character it would be L Lawliet. He and my stuffed animals have been with me through it all, it’s hard to put into words the impact they’ve had on my life and the invaluable comfort they’ve given me in this horrible world. Wishing you and Satoshi well. 🖤✌️

He seems like such a sweet guy, it doesn't matter that he is living a little differently than most people, we all have our own things that make us happy, and our own things that help us cope, so as long as they aren't hurting anyone then we shouldn't bully or tear anyone down for this kind of thing. Especially given that a lot of the time real people being cruel is what may have caused them to become attached to something fictional or something that is different to the norm, that goes for most of these kinds of things. People are just too judgemental, if someone is a kind person and likes something that isn't hurting anyone then leave them be and let them be happy.

Bullying someone into loneliness and making them feel like there is nothing on their side but fiction. Truly a tragedy.
The thing that catches my attention the most though, is that as loneliness grows within the Japanese population, so does the idol market, and stuff of the sort. It's all about trying to fill a void without having to go through the "trouble" of making real human connections: idols or 2D characters won't disagree with you, abandon you, hurt you.
Such a behavior can be explained by how isolated people can be, I understand that much and I am not judgemental of individuals who go through that kind of pain, and the consequences of such solitude.
Why did he have to marry a character who is 16 years old though? Weird, but that's a whole different issue.
But anyway, the problem at hand, to me, is that this society abuses the ones perceived as "different" or "weak", and then there's this whole fantasy of 'unconditional love' within money's reach. They sell comfort, the idea that you can go without human affection.
I'm just rambling now, but I can't help but find this phenomenon very fascinating, especially in the notorious case of Japan.
