0:50 Knowing that planets now orbit and therefore their connections can change, the outer planets of a system can now easily be so screwed! This is awesome!!! It also means, with patience, you can launch an ambush.
It's gonna be so hard to wait for this to launch. So many hundreds of hours into Sins 1 and this looks like Sins 1 dialed up to 11.
You may now have my money, Stardock.
As much as I appreciate that the SoaSE team was able to get the funding they needed through Epic, the client is still so awful that I'm not willing to install it.
@chrism.1421 I don't know as much as Stardock cranks out other games near yearly I think they just wanted an easy check from Epic and I didn't care to support it.
@@KidInTheHall28 I was watching the SoaSE steam forums a year or so before they announced the sequel, and they were saying that they had been trying to find a way to make it for a long time but couldn't find the funding. I guess they could be lying, but I'm not betting on it.
@@chrism.1421 But it's practically the same game with better textures and effects. Most games get this for free from mods so I find it hard to believe funding was an issue. I'm still gonna buy it once it hits steam though.
Blocking those torpedoes was unreal! Reminds me of old X-Wing and Tie Fighter scenarios.
“Ready to provide cover for the fleet!”
It was a last resort because he failed to bring in point defense to take them down. Couldn't let them hit the starbase and destroy the planetary shield.
Ooo, those are some fantastic looking visuals, that planetary bombardment is on point! Can't wait for this one!
We're always looking forward to what the Red King digs up!
any lore you can did up would be nice?
Yeah everywhere this year
@@stardockgames Will we be able to conduct planetary invasions?
Way too cartoony and plasticy, just look at 0:23 so cheap looking ships.
I never was a fan of those types of visual, nor i am now.
I participated in so many LAN parties dedicated to the original. Awesome to see a sequel!
Here's hoping the Halo Sins of The Prophets mod will be updated/remade for this game
Oh the memories that just flooded my brain
This game has THE best combat mechanics of any 4X game I've ever played.
It was a major focus of the sequel to make them even better :)
hm, I think EmpireAtWar has better (although path finding is ridiculous). Battlefleet gothic armada 2 has the best I've seen. But strategic map just crap.
@@romanmakarov4973 empire at war had pretty good combat mechanic, i agree, but comparing them is not great, because they are vastly different, i really enjoy both though, but i lean a little bit more to sins because its just more well flehsed out and the battles are massiv, where as empires at war you kept having to warp in, when you lost a ship.
If it's a Stardock game, it's bound to be good. I love the effort you guys put into the lore and details. And the cinematic battles never disappoint.
That means the world to us, thank you for your continued support!
@@stardockgamesyou could have made the ships less cartoon like
So glad to see the game finally be released on literally anything other than Epic!
Is it bad I didn't even know about it until this haha
Oh yes please. Finally. I have been waiting for so long. Thank you very much. Those graphics look so incredibly good. Well done Stardock.
I've been waiting for this 4 no, 5 thousand years
The journey begins anew.
Does this mean that people in the southern hemisphere get it six months later than the north?
i hope we get to know what the vasari are running from.
Hope it pushes the story forward and we finally see what the vasari were running from
I remember receiving my Collectors Edition of Sins of a Solar Empire all those years ago (still using the mouse mat). This is going to feel just like that again, I cannot wait.
Looking fantastic. Can't wait to play it on Steam. Great job Devs!
I am excited, I have been watching the progress of the game and can say you turned me around from lackluster to excited! You guys keep on rockin! You have my day 1 purchase! Also I own a lot of your games, and you guys always... always... always make fun games!
Do you actually need some help for the german translation? I saw some weird translations like Ravastra-Scharmützler instead of Ravastra Plänkler. Scharmützler isn't a word we use.
The first one is one of my all time favorite games. So cant wait to get it on steam.
These games got me through MANY a boring day on deployments throughout when I was in the Navy! GG! And excited to see the new one!
oh man! This is the game I was looking for. I used to play the old one for years
yay to making it to steam. however a few questions questions. 1) will my epic key code unlock it on steam, or will I have it to buy it separately? I think I know the answer but questions are free so why not ask ^.^ 2+) I know you are planning on adding the advent but with the release this summer that does not seem to leave a lot of time to add both advent factions to the game and let the community play them for testing in early access? Are you going to add the advent to early access? or will the Advent only be added upon full release?
1)We are looking into options atm, but do not have any guarantees or concrete answers at this time and likely won't until closer to launch. Best to wishlist to be on the safe side
2) Currently Advent is planned to be added upon full release, stay tuned for more
@@stardockgames thought so but figured i would ask just in case :)
The best space battle videogame.
I liked the concept of how interact with the minor factions. It is basically identical to Age of Empires 3.
The orbiting planets looks amazing. I hope I find plenty of new, interesting and fun features. Hard to improve on perfection though
They did and are
wohoooo. loved rebellion. i hope this one will be just as good :X
Better is the goal
Even though the people on Epic were kind enough to beta test for us, I will probably buy it within the first week after launch, just to make certain there are no major problems.
There is a discord to watch
I can't wait to play it finally!!
Took me years to learn how to play it.
So worth it.
Tine for another.
I've been playing this on epic games. It has amazing potential and I'm very excited for it. Definitely worth a buy
Been playing early access since release, love the game engine upgrade and dynamic maps! Hopefully they have all 3 races available at launch 🙏
i was waiting for the 3rd faction since its my fav one
The Advent will definitely be fully playable on launch!
@@stardockgames 😃official response! Nice
@@stardockgamesI an so hyped to play advent!
Wooppieee excellentee wishlisted & anxious for purchase 🙂 Good May to whole studio o/
I hope there is another amazing star trek mod for this.
Genuinely looking forward to this
So happy. My group of friends just played the original Sins of a Solar Empire at our last lan party a month ago. Can't wait to play this.
The music always bring me back to the fun SoaSE times, cannot wait for this!
Stay tuned for more!
Making it Epic Games exclusive was possibly the dumbest thing you've done, Stardock. Glad to see it finally on Steam.
you have to see it this way, they got some money to make their game better and some people to test it and give their feedback... so we will get a nearly (hopefully) bug free game on steam then :D
Me when i reach enemies homeworld: "In fealty to the God-Emperor, our undying Lord, and by the grace of the Golden Throne, I declare EXTERMINATUS!"
I can say only one thing to you Stardock, it IS BLOODY TIME!. I don't even know how much hours i have in the first game (probably over 1000) but cant wait for this one.
The old game was amazing
This one is even better
Take my money! Have you thought of sponsoring one or two big youtubers (1 million plus subs) to advertise this trailer and maybe one or two big Twitter accounts with more than 500k followers? The twitter accounts could post a simple post like "I can't wait to get this game. So hyped" or something like that. That would give this game more exposure and more reach to a lot of people.
I do hope sins of the prophets comes to this game
I hear that team is hard at work!
❤
Can we all say the real release is almost upon us!
Star Trek Armada 4 is bout to be sick!
*THE VASARI ARE BACK!!~*
Must admit did love this game back in the day. Could literally spend days of gameplay on one map.
Now I'm older and have lids...and no time lol
If you're spending all of your time on lids, you need to standardize the sizes a bit.
@@DavidWMillerlamo it's so funny but I think he meant kids but it's still so funny that he mistyped it and said lids
Got load of lids...haha don't type when tired

Waits for the advent
I hear they're on a space roadtrip, should be arriving just in time for launch
@@stardockgames if what you have told me is true, you'll have gained my trust.
@@daltonslayton6766 If you're interested in more details, here's an informative dev Journal www.sinsofasolarempire2.com/article/527710/sins-ii-dev-journal-12---advent-rising
@stardockgames you know, one thing I have always wanted to do and would be amazing is a Sins of a Solar Empire tv series. The series follows a group of low ranking guys who end up becoming the best fleet admirals as the war starts and progresses.
Hoped for the planets and other celestial bodies to actually orbit around the star not even Stellaris has done this, and yet Stardock actually does it damn
Take my money!
It makes for some engaging gameplay moments, like stationing a fleet on an asteroid that orbits over time to behind an enemy world
While i have my doubts about the new artstyle, i am excited as hell to play this !
Same. I dont like this cartoony or plasticy ship look. It makes it look cheap.
The artwork is improving. Nothing cheap looking
@@yurikendal4868 It just looks more cartoony compared to the old one. SoSER designs looked menacing and cool while these ones look like toys
@@chrisgaming1286I think it’s just a mix of brighter colors and improved graphics, most of the models are the same ship with a new coat of paint and smoother graphics. I agree they could definitely do with grunge-ing up some of the ships with darker colors or more unpainted surfaces but overall it’s more or less the same. Really interested to see how modders take to making new models for this game, would love another Thrawn’s Revenge or Armada 3 in the new engine
Hope they add steam workshop integration for mod support.
Currently planned Mod support will be through mod.io!
All mod discovery and installation can be done from within the game itself (or through the web if you prefer).
Oh God this game is finally getting released! Woohoo!
Looking forward to this game. 64 bit play here we come.
i loved the last game, its great its getting a new game with amazing visuals but i have to ask.
Whats actually diffrent from the last game?
the trailers are very surface level which is just how it is with these kinds of games so just genuinly wondering if this is the last sins release with a new lick of paint and orbital mechanics or are there deeper changes in how its played. never got around to playing the early access build so would love to learn more
Hello! This game builds upon the original with quite a bit! Id recommend checking out the following news post for a solid overview, with more details inbound www.sinsofasolarempire2.com/article/527408/sins-of-a-solar-empire-ii-to-release-on-steam-this-summer
@@stardockgames thanks for the reply! goes a fair bit deeper than i expected and love that things like missles are "physicalized" if thats the right way of putting it. will 100% have to pick it up :)
I’d love an update that allows us to zoom into the world like some sort of god 😍😍
Where we can see citizens and cities sprawling
Gameplay and in game music this is a great trailer it's like the trailers from 10 years ago and its awsome
Advent pls?
Fully playable on launch
@@stardockgames Will wait. And which languages will be supported? I would like to have Russian.
@@XDemonR You can find a list of supported languages, including Russian, in the following FAQ www.sinsofasolarempire2.com/faq
@@stardockgames Oh really? You are the best. I love this game.
Should of been on Steam DAY 1 it was playable anywhere else!
I hope, I wish, the Halo mod, Sins of the Prophets will be on this version of Sins...
❤
You have seen the light
Daddy's back! Hopefully they include everything that the last SINS had. I don't want to have to wait another 10 years and 100 DLCs to get the complete experience, it is just too time consuming and the competition in the 4X genre is on another level these days... I would be buying DLCs that include whole new factions for sure, but not mechanics and "subfactions". That way of monetizing is no longer sustainable for a MP focused game. Meaningful DCLs that do not divide the community are good to go ;)
Teil 1 hab ich damals soo gesuchtet :D Hoffe das dieser Teil noch besser wird :D Bis zum Release muss Homeworld 3 erstmal reichen :D
I am excited for this! Huge fan of the original.
Than you are going to LOVE this one!
I was wondering when this is going to show up on steam.👍😁
Ahhh, finally out of the Epic Store Jail.
Hope to see some of the (really bad) capital abilities improved so there's more choice in what you build as advent/vasari.
Will it be early access or full release?
Full release this summer
@@stardockgames music to my ears. I look forward to more info.
@@stardockgamesso this is one of your Early Access testers is the reason why the full launch has come so early is because of the Early Access testers I'm just wondering I didn't expect the game to come out this early to at least 2025, I mean it's great to be wrong
As much as a loved Sins back in the day, this doesn't really seem like its improving the areas that really needed updating to make it compete with modern space RTS's. It seems they have done lots to add new depth to space battles, but that wasn't really a weak point for Sins, weak points were the lack of the RPG elements, such as events and diplomacy, and other management systems such as a more in depth population, world and trade system. I hope that this first reveal was just focuses on the known strengths of the series and actually we will see more of these sorts of areas explored in future trailers because a new Sins game with those kind of features would be great. At the moment though, its looking more like a graphics update to the base game and that wouldn't be enough to hold my attention the same way the originals did back in the day, in my opinion.
There is way more to it. Its not an rpg though
@@yurikendal4868 I didn't say it was an RPG, I said the RPG elements that have become synonymous with strategy games now, such as those in Stellaris, Endless Space, Crusader Kings, to some degree total war, the bit where you take on more than just the strategy element but the wider issues of management of social/diplomatic issues and events. That was something Sins really lacked and the trailer SO FAR, hasn't shown anything to indicate those elements have any significant improvement. Which to me, makes it appear AT THIS EARLY STAGE, like it won't be much more than a graphic and combat improvement, and I don't see many people going back to it for that alone. I am hoping we see a much wider range of expanded elements to the game because Sins was a great space battle simulator, it just lacked in other areas.
@@someoneelse8599 I think there's some confusion as to what's being referred to as RTS here.
Stellaris, Endless Space, Crusader Kings and Total War are really not RTS games by the classic definition. They're much closer to classic turn-based 4X or grand strategy games but running real-time with pause (in the case of PDX stuff), where Sins is closer to "classic RTS" games that stemmed from Dune II, and ran through games like Starcraft, Total Annihilation and so on. Sins just expands that single battlefield out into dozens and gives you strategic control over them all in real-time.
That said, Sins of a Solar Empire 2 has a lot of 4X elements but the focus is on seamless integration between the tactical and strategic layers. Excessive RPG elements would likely snarl up the games design. But you do get plenty of ways to customise your capital ships, titans and starbases (and planets too) with the new Planetary Item slots which work a bit like equipment in CRPGs.
Sins 2 has more detail in both the strategic and tactical layers than Rebellion did, but you're not gonna be getting leaders marrying one another like you'd get in a PDX grand strategy game, it's not really that kind of game. However there are extensive diplomatic options now and it's particularly exciting in multiplayer to form time-locked alliances, backstab one another, take planets and sell them back for peace treaties and so on. There's more depth in the strategic layer than this short trailer was able to show.
Cant wait!
About damn time.
Had the original game, loved it. Not played in years, not a game PC freak that gets a new PC every 6 months. Does it now work on a normal PC or do i still need to buy a supercomputer?
Should have some good options for you! You can find PC requirements listed at the bottom of the steam page Here: store.steampowered.com/app/1575940/Sins_of_a_Solar_Empire_II/
Don't you guys also think that it looks more like a remaster rather than a new game...? I hope they really have something new there 🙏
Its definately a sequel. Plenty to sink your teeth into
Finally its coming. Can't wait
Man I adore the basic game, and the new stuff looks mindblowing. But dammit I want something of a resolution or at least a reveal of the great catastrophe causing the Vasari to flee.. I mean that cinematic even comments on "especially if the rumors are true."
Hope it will be well-optimized and could run fine on potatoes.
Unity's will be done.
Hoping for a GOG release!

Fantastic.
Although gravity wells and plents could be a bit larger, and ship and structure models a bit smaller. Looks too cartooney right now.
They are far from cartooney

If you're referring to the orbiting mechanic, its entirely optional on game set up!
@stardockgames that is great to know! I will still give it a try and see if it does. Hopefully, this is made note on the games store pages of its not already. Thanks for the response.
