I have severe ADHD and usually I struggle to push through RPGs at a consistent pace, which I mention because it's important context for what I'm gonna say about this game: I bought and downloaded it yesterday afternoon and proceeded to play it non-stop for literally twelve consecutive hours. I know that's probably not the most healthy thing to do but I just couldn't put it down, I just wanted to see more and more of the beautiful art and the hauntingly beautiful, deeply unsettling writing. I know opinions on what makes a great RPG vary quite a lot and that this is subjective, but this is the best new RPG I've played in years, and in spite of the fact that my favorite games tend to be action games this game immediately jumped to the top of my list and is in competition with Mech Engineer for my favorite of the year so far and most likely my pick for my personal game of the year, though obviously we'll have to see how the rest of the year's releases play out. This will be a difficult one to top, though, and I'm really hoping we can get some expansions or something from the developer because even though I'm not even close to finishing the game I already know I want more.
Just finished at 99 hours . explored every inch did every quest . It’s one of the greatest games I ever played . The ending left me completely stunned , it’s unforgettable . Masterpiece level CRPG.
Been really looking forward to this after playing the demo a year or so ago. Glad to see it's improved quite a bit in that time! Going to have to pick it up and play it this weekend -- hopefully we get more thunderstorms here for extra ambiance (and a good extra reason to stay in and nerd out!)
Like you got heavy C64 vibes from that colour pallet. Only way this could be more perfect is if there was a physical release that came in a little cardboard box on a tape shaped USB (and I didn't realise how much I want that till I said it aloud)

Thats awesome, I got a chance to talk to the dev and he was super passionate about it, so I am so glad it came across.. We need more Materpiece RPGS
You get it. Brilliant game.
I really, really, really enjoyed playing this one. A lot.
Of course you did!
My friend recently reccomended this game. It's on sale on steam right now, might pick it up.
I highly recommend everyone to play it with CRT mode.

I'm having a blast playing this one. Really good game.
Please turn up the music.
We will. Next review will only consist of game footage and loud as fuck Appalachian Anarchy music.

I agree, 30 hours in and it is a top RPG at a very, very low price too.
When did Werner Herzog start doing PC game reviews?
He gotta make money somehow.
