You may want to emulate a horse from the mission days, but we all want to emulate you Mr. Puckett

Thank you Deb and Pat for sharing your wisdom with the world. You are a legacy that would be lost forever if you two would have not posted these videos. You have inspired me as a grasshopper to continue to practice this type of horsemanship. I live in an area where it is all team roping and cutting horses. While that is great for those folks, it does in interest me. I just wanted to share with you that your videos do make a difference and I teach my three boys on our ranch using your videos. Thank y’all. ❤

You can see that Chinco is watching something else but follows your lead. That's some multi tasking on his part.

I really appreciate these videos. I've been a hackamore guy for 20+yrs and really had very little desire to transition to a spade. However, I've got a mare here that I absolutely adore, but she's very complex and has really challenged me as a horseman. A year or so ago I bought your missing link snaffle and intended to use it for training other horses, but on a lark, I had her pack it around on a ride and it changed everything. Just having a cricket let her release so much frustration, so that sent me down the path of looking into spade bits in earnest. I've gone back to feeling like a complete novice trying to manage two sets of reins, so just took the bit reins off. Seeing you use the spade in this way as well, and not just for a handful of rides, has really helped me feel more confident.

I'm always excited to see that you have done a new video. I especially enjoy the Chinaco videos. We are in Ohio and I know you told me that his Sire is here in Ohio! so neat to see Chinaco turning white too! I learn a lot watching you and enjoy what you and Deb do! One of these days, hopefully soon, I'll be able to sell my full cheek snaffles that I have sitting here and pick up your "missing link"! Keep the Faith and THANK YOU for the content! Love to watch! After seeing Chinaco in person I really feel connected to his progress. I notice you don't have a curb strap on the bit. Are you less worried about him getting it turned over in his mouth now? If i remember right, I thought you had a piece of twine in the early part of hanging the spade to prevent that.

Been kicking around your videos. It's too bad you weren't born a century ago. There's no need to stroke your ego any as I don't see your much into that. Your wife or as you say your bride, she's that girl that it looks like all critters fall in love with. Noticed those dogs know who's buttering the bread for them. Yeah ok she pets horses at the wrong moment but I didn't see the horse complaining any. Maybe you need to work with troubled teens some as they need love and understanding and most of all patience with them. Glad your recovering and getting your one of a kind sense of humor back. Take care horseman

Hey Pat, I need your opinion.
So I don’t know if this is a problem or not but I don’t want to use a spade bit on my horse. I don’t really have a soft touch and I’m afraid that if I do put my horse in a spade bit I’m going to ruin her mouth.
Would it be awkward for a Buckaroo to use a curb bit on his horse?

You get to use whatever bit you like. Just don't use a Correction Bit!
