I love watching that grey move light with ramener. He's beautiful!
Freckers has a good story about the Wade Tree on their webpage which mirrors what I'd heard. " In the late 1800s Aaron Wade bought a saddle in Deadwood, South Dakota on one of his trips driving horses across the west from Oregon. The maker of this saddle is unknown, but Aaron rode it for many years until he passed away. In the late 1930s, his son, Clifford, pulled the saddle out of storage and found it to fit many of the horses he was currently riding. In 1937, he took the saddle to Hamley's in Pendleton, Oregon, and asked them to make a new one like it.
The Wade family had been neighbors to the Dorrance family in Wallowa County, Oregon, where William C. Dorrance homesteaded on Crow Creek in 1882. Young Tom Dorrance was intrigued by this saddle. Over the next few years, Tom discussed with Walt Youngman, who had been the head tree maker at Hamley's for many years, on ways to improve the design and fit. Some slight adjustments were made to the original Deadwood saddle, and what resulted was the 1940 Wade style tree (As you look at some of the old Spanish Vaquero saddles, you can see some of that influence in design)."
It's such a treat to see Chinaco developing his strength and balance. Great video!
Chinaco is smooth. What a treat to watch you move together.
Sir, you are a legend and thank you for sharing even a sliver of wisdom.
Congrats on the transition to half inch Bosal. Love watching the lightness develop on the forehand turns. That is so exciting! Im thinking my two senior horses might never get that light, since their hind ends are rather stiff at 28 years old. But we still like to practise. Chinaco, just keeps getting more and more handsome.
Deligted to hear you are familar with the beautiful, tiny tiny country of Belgium!!👍👍 Oh yes sir, we make a whole of a lot more than waffels! 😄😉... I'm very glad to see your recovery goes well!!👍 Take care!
Greetings from Belgium 👋🇧🇪
Your ability to communicate the lessons to your horses is amazing.
Thank you for the news
I prefer yours and the pace of a horse over tv..
Blessings
Chinaco is "something else"
you have done a great job with chinaco pat, and it makes me happy to see you doing so well with your injury. thank you for sharing
I love watching each of your videos! I learn so much each and every time.
I would like to know how to burn the hairs off of my macate. I hate the prickly hairs but love the feel and life in horse hair reins. Thanks for doing your videos, I feel like I've learned a lot from you. I live in Alexandria AL
Love to you and yours. Thank you for what you have taught me and my horse(s) in turn.
Great relationship he's a happy horse ❣️
Chinaco Rocks.
Hi Pat. Two things. One is: what's the difference between an A-fork and a slick fork? I thought they were the same. Second, Chinaco's turn on the forehand at 10:52 was really good. He kept that left fore planted so well!!
You 2 are making great progress
Kudos , good job of training
Maestro usted me recuerda a mi Abuelo paterno dicen la gente que fue un gran arrendador de caballos nasido en la Virgen Savatierra Guanajuato Mexico saludos Maestro
This was a great video it was nice to see both the Horse and the Rider doing good
I hope to have a handle on a horse like this some day it’s a lovely conversation to watch
Great transition 👌🏼
How tall is Chinaco? It's been fantastic to watch his development over the years.
I like the comments about leveling up-pushing the other horse off feed and the quiet [power]demeanor developing. I’m seeing similar changes in my three year old and it’s fun to adjust training as he brings new qualities to the table.
Greetings from Georgia to Pat and Deb.
What a Horseman
I must be the last vaquero to still keep using a fiador. My horses are so sensitive that if that heel knot kept bumping their chin they would toss their head in the air. Even though you can't see me do it the horse can feel which side of the nose I am pulling on to start the turn. It all begins with the one rein stop. I order my bosals long enough so as not to touch the side of the face or jaw. That way he us not desensitized by a constant pressure on the face or jaw. After all the horse learns when the pressure comes off. Happy trails everyone
How long is your bosal?
Glad to see Pat doing well!
Also, forgive me if I missed it, what breed is Chinaco? He’s so handsome!
At 16:50 minute mark wish I could of saw the smile after that turn but the release an neck rub let’s me know it was probably ear to ear
How is Shashoni ? (sp?)... hope he is well..I love that horse !!!
Pat I don’t think you are taking it easy mi amigo. 😀
I have been dying to hear his take on those rein chains and it sounds like I’ve got some work to do on the swivel. Or move it to the middle?
They are beautiful. They’ll make a nice addition when you are done.
The swivel in the middle is fine but it can’t be so heavy that it unbalances the rest of the chain. Also keep in mind that we need to be able to make fine adjustments to our rein length by taking out links.
@@PatnDebPuckett noted I’ll work on either modifying swivel weight and possibly position while keeping the rein chain adaptable to length changes. Thank you for the insight!
When I grow up I want to be Pat ❤
What grit of sand pepper would be needed?
Hi Pat who taught you all this information about horse training
What breed is Cinaco?
Are you planning on teaching him on how to stretch later on?
Yes, he's already starting to stretch.
How old is Chinaco now? He's starting to look physically more mature.
He's 4.
@@PatnDebPuckett He still has a lot of growing to do, then.
@@AlexBattenberg No. He's family.
I know a girl who has a Lusitano mare by Haras Dos Cavaliers. I think she turned 6 this spring… anyways, that horse has an insanely high IQ. Do you find that lusitanos tend to be more intelligent and sensitive than most quarter horses? How do they compare mental to thoroughbreds?
Is chinaco considered a roan?
Chinaco is gray.
His head is longer than his tail! Ha! Ha!
What is the significance of the name "Chinaco"?
Did you take it from the tequila? Or common breeding? Or something else?
IIRC, Chinaco is the term that was given to people who fought for Mexican independence. Don't know if that's what he got the name from but Pat is into history.
