From what I can remember, most of the false teaching in the New Testament is teaching works salvation.
The letter of Paul to the Galatians focuses almost exclusively on the false teaching of works salvation.
An excellent point, that the apostasy mentioned in Hebrews was not an apostasy of licentiousness, but if returning to the sacrificial system.

Absolutely, lots of Christians inadvertently believe they're more powerful than God and His finished work on the cross - having more power than God to void the sacrifice by their own sin. Jesus died once, we're saved once.

The willful sin is rejecting Jesus and going back to Judaism, legalism under the law fallen from grace.

How dare people want to walk as Yeshua walked, the apostles walked,- how every author of the Bible walked.
Obviously that's a deception from the pits of hell!
Satan during all the OT: Ohh,- how am I going to get people to disobey God's Law?
Satan during the NT (apparently): Ohhh,- how am I going to get people to obey God's Law?

@@themoonandback7031 Don't know what argument you are trying to make. No one is saying that you shouldn't repent of your sins. Only saying that it has no bearing on your salvation. Your motivation to repent and live holy should stem from your love for God, not fear of being good enough to get into heaven because then you rely on works. You will never be good enough, period. The standard is perfection. We are saved by what Jesus did, His obedience, His righteousness, and absolutely nothing of ourselves. Do not dare to try and rob God of the glory of your salvation.

@@DeanStrydom-v4p wow! Very well said. I could not agree more with every sentence. We are definitely in the minority. I know very few people that believe OSAS. In my opinion, the main reason for this is most people that claim the title of Christian are lost and on their way to hell. They do not have the assurance of the Holy Spirit living within them. The remainder of these people are on their way to heaven they are saved. They have just been misled into believing a lie. The sentence that stood out the most for me was the very last one. I don’t understand why more people can’t see this. If we think 1% or 50% is up to us , we’re trying to steal something that doesn’t belong to us.

God’s Word says that we are saved by grace through faith in Christ Jesus and not by our own efforts or works (Ephesians 2:8-9).
    Grace Alone. Faith Alone.
Grace alone means that God loves, forgives, and saves us not because of who we are or what we do, but because of the work of Christ.

What all these men in the video have in common is that they all ask how is God going to deal with the sins a believer commits. The answer is God has ALREADY dealt with those sins. You cant commit some "extra" sins that haven't been paid for. Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures. They are going to have to decide if they believe the gospel or not.

That's not true, they ask what God does with someone who used to believe and has fallen away from the faith blotted out of the book of life, committed true apostasy and truly denies Jesus Christ as savior and lets says now is a Muslim atheist Hindu and truly. Believe that now.
Their main difference from osas and Calvinists is they believe God gave man free will to accept him or reject him, and that ability did not stop before the foundation of the world double predestination of Calvinism which is OSAS, plus and once passed over and damed always damned.
Or for non Calvinists who believe only in OSAS doctrine, who say the ability to reject Jesus stops once you accept him, and you can never be a true unbeliever again, that's single predestination for salvation with no ability to fall away from the faith that's forced belief forced salvation and is false salvation and makes continue in to the end to be saved make no sense since it's all predetermine and automaticbfron your first belief on
And is simy not biblical at all.
Remember it is the fathers will Jesus lose none, not his command Jesus lose, that's a huge difference.

People need to rephrase the question to "once you start being saved will you continue being saved?"
Because the d on the end of saved implies that it's finished.
So OBVIOUSLY if you lost your salvation then you weren't saveD.
Otherwise there wouldn't be an d on the end of the word.
And yes once you are born again you will go to heaven, otherwise God is a liar.

Hello Pastor Jesse! I pray you and Calvary Community Church, are doing great...I watched this video and looked at my study notes on 2nd Peter Chapter 2. The false teachers you are refuting use these verses to say that believers can lose their salvation and I wanted to share my view with you and your viewers...It is a little different than your interpretation and I think it really does make sense so humbly please bear and hear me out...Here is what I believe these passages in 2nd Peter chapter 2 are all about....
2 Peter chapter 2 verse 1 makes it clear: "But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. 2Pe. 2:2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. 2Pe. 2:3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not. You see all the passages leading to the passage below that these false prophets like to twist are all about False teachers (Just like the people you are refuting) who had come in among the true believers and were trying to draw them away so all the way through up to the verses below notice Peter is speaking about FALSE PROPHETS AND NON-BELIEVERS!
now let's look at II Peter where the false teachers like to twist these verses...2Pe 2:20 For if after they (NOTICE THE WORD THEY...it is still talking about false teachers non-believers that had snuck into the congregation it doesn't say we but they)... have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, ( they heard the message and were acting like believers and they cleaned up their lives but they never believed in Christ alone) they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. What these verses are saying is astounding...it is saying that some unbelievers know of Christ and Follow Christ and try to keep His commandments and when you look at them you cannot tell the Christian from the unbeliever because they are going to church and doing righteous things but notice the following verses...
2Pe 2:21 For it had been better for them (notice the word them again not us, believers but the false prophets who had infiltrated the believers) not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. What was the Holy commandment delivered to these unbelievers and false prophets "REPENT (CHANGE YOUR MINDS) AND BELIEVE ON JESUS CHRIST" all they did was clean up their act exteriorly and benefited from that in life, but they will be worse off than they started...in other words the person that knows the way of God's redemption is by Trusting in Christ alone apart from anything they can do...but refuses to believe it... but becomes a disciple of Christ without believing in Him alone...just like Judas did... the latter end will be worse than his beginning...THE LAST VERSE IS KEY TO THIS WHOLE DISCUSSION...READ CAREFULLY BELOW...
2Pe 2:22 But it has happened unto them (THE FALSE PROPHETS NOT BELIEVERS) according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire. THIS IS TALKING ABOUT FALSE PROPHETS ALL THE WAY THROUGH ALL OF THESE VERSES....THE DOG NOT THE SHEEP THE DOG HAS TURNED BACK TO HIS VOMIT WHY BECAUSE THEY NEVER BELIEVED SO THEY WERE NEVER SHEEP...AND THE SOW NOT THE SHEEP THAT WAS WASHED (BY EXTERIORLY WASHING IN OTHER WORDS DOING RIGHTEOUS DEEDS) TO HER WALLOWING IN THE MIRE...THESE WORDS AT THE END PUT AN EXCLAMATION POINT ON WHOM THESE VERSE ARE ADDRESSED TO...It is clear all of these warnings were because FLASE PROPHETS WERE TRYING TO CORRUPT THESE BELIEVERS AND PETER WAS WARNING THEM THAT THEY WERE UNBELIEVERS WHOS LATTER END WOULD BE WORSE THEN THEIR BEGINING...I hope you can clearly see that these verses are in no way addressed to believers but to false prophets and non-believers...God bless you all Rob :) (CAPS USED ONLY FOR EMPHASIS I AM NOT SCREAMING/YELLING LOL!)

Remember when Paul wrote this in Romans 6: 1-2: What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?
Seems that even back then people were accusing Paul that the gospel was OSAS. He seems to be refuting charges that people make today about won't sin abound if you are saved once forever?

I think we sometimes have a bad idea of what a "sin hardened" man looks like. Sure it can be like Saul in the old testament, but it can also look like these men attacking the eternal security we have in Christ. I think their teaching is what often drives saved men to this hardness, causing them to forget the love of Christ and the eternal security in which they should be resting. I only say this because I was on that road with the pedal to the floor and the teachings of men like this for fuel. Thank God for men sound in their faith and secure in their salvation that have ministries like Bibleline that have helped people like me "soften" and regain that joy of our salvation and love for Christ and our brethren.

I would agree somewhat, especially for the false ones teaching it Or if they believed that the whole time of saying they got saved, then they never trusted Christ.
But the galatians were still probably saved yet going back to their Judaism works, being deceived to believe they had to earn right standing before God.
Gotta be careful because if we cant say a true undiscipled Christian could be deceived after belief then its still like the Calvinists who says perseverance is required for salvation. That is why discipleship after being saved is of UTMOST IMPORTANCE.

So, it's ok to go to the bar on Saturday night and party, get drunk etc.etc. then go to church on Sunday? It's seems from the people that I talk to seems that this is ok. I disagree. This subject needs to be taught and preached to new Christians so that they know that you do have to WORK as a Christian. Don't bother trying to change my mind about this. We do have to work when we are Christians, we can't continue in the same lifestyle we were before.

    • @BibleLine

It’s not okay. It’s not okay at all. Shame on the Believers who do continue in sin. Romans 6:1 - “Shall we continue?” “God Forbid.”
It doesn’t ever remove the possibility (key word here - it’s possible) of a believer living or continuing in a lifestyle of sin. That’s the whole reason the majority of scripture is directed toward believers living sanctified, holy lives.
The problem is introduced when you claim the lifestyle as the reason by which you do have or do not have eternal life. That’s incorrect. Jesus Christ is the reason you do have or do not have eternal life. Have you believed in Him? Saved. Done. It’s finished. No lifestyle could ever change that. John 3:18

@@djohnson3736 No one on this channel is saying to go down to the bar and get drunk. There will be consequences for doing such, just as there will for false accusing brothers and false teaching.
The question is 'What type of work gets you into heaven and does that person have to be 100% perfect???'
The answer is YES. YOU HAVE TO BE PERFECT. Without blemish.
That's only accomplished through the blood of Jesus, and being born again.
Once born again, you have a choice on whether to be obedient or disobedient as the whole Bible shows all saints were both at times. Moses, David, Lot sinned at times. Noah got blasted DRUNK. Should we do the same. NO. Should we sin now that we are under grace? NO
Was there a consequence for their sin? Yes. Did they lose their salvation for their sin? No because it was by faith in God.
David was a murderer, adulterer, and disobedient child of God. Which of his sins weren't forgiven?
      Romans 4:6-8
[6] Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works, [7] saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, And whose sins are covered. [8] Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.
WHAT will give us wind in our sails to actually stop sin in our lives??

Not anyone here I apologize if it seemed so. It saddens me that preachers never move past to the next goal for a young Christian. If you want be saved, yes all it takes is the blood of Jesus it's done already. Nobody tells them they do have a job as a saved Christian to learn, which is work, witness and testify also work. It's talked about as far as believing in Jesus and that's it. They don't get taught to study and show themselves approved. It's unfortunate that I used to believe like they did not too long ago, but the hypocrisy is written all through their theology because they dont quite understand what is required for salvation. God's standard is Jesus level perfection. If we could lose our salvation based on our behavior than we would have already and theres no getting it back. Its either we are saved by being sinless after salvation or we are saved by grace through faith alone. Conditional security actually turns you into a worker of inquity because as a Christian you still sin which if we're honest, all it takes is one sin to go to Hell, not living a lifestyle of sin. Conditinal security makes people trust in something other than Christ and thats why it is straight from Hell.

For 2 Peter, another Interesting interpretation I heard with the believers in view, is that they are mature believers who have escaped the pollutions of this world. And if they do get entangled there in again, their chastisement will be greater than if they had not known the way of righteousness, because they should have known better.
Luke 12:47-48 "The servant who knows the master’s will and does not get ready or does not do what the master wants will be beaten with many blows. But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked"

This is something that the new testament writers wrote about often (and in many different ways). They're referring to falling off your rocker, and losing rewards as well as the fruits of righteousness on this side of heaven. It's something that can happen to a believer, we see one of the clearest examples of it in 1st corinthians with the man who was sleeping around with his stepmother. Paul says that he has "been given over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh" (sounds pretty damning), but is careful to clarify that he himself will still be saved, though it will be as though "escaping through the flames".
We see this kind of thing in Galations as well, though for a different reason. They were trying to be justified through works and through the law after receiving the knowledge of the gospel of grace, and Paul says plainly that "You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace." If taken out of context, it would sound like Paul is saying that they have lost eternal life, but a few verses later, we see that Paul is still referring to them, the very people he referred to a few sentences earlier, as "brethren". Terms like "brethren" and "saints" aren't terms that the Bible uses for the unsaved. It uses these for those who are in Christ.
It is possible to fall off your rocker on this side of heaven. You lose a lot of the benefits of your salvation here when this happens (when you fall away from a true understanding of the gospel, or end up angering God severely enough to be under strong corrective discipline for the purpose of drawing you to repentance), but it does not mean you yourself have lost eternal life. These are two separate things. Christ promises that all that the father has given him, he will receive, and he shall by no means lose anyone. This means that once you are in Christ (as the folks Paul has referred to here are), none shall be lost in the end.
Paul often has some pretty strong words to say about this topic, but his purpose is to draw people to repentance and to a holy and pure lifestyle (as it is harmful to the church, and to people, when people fall back into egregious patterns of sin). Paul, more than anyone, understood that salvation was by faith alone (by BELIEVING on what Christ has done), and some of the strongest corrections in the new testament are towards those who got that confused.

Yeah, to accept God’s grace in vain is to do nothing with it once you’ve believed. It’s not that you believed, but it didn’t count. Context really doesn’t support that. It’s a believer (such as these Corinthians) who ARE saved, but they’re living in vanity. It’s similar to the believers in James living hypocritically. Hebrews and Galatians could be concluded similarly. All saved, but lacking in continuing in the grace they received.
Photoniccannon actually has a fantastic response.
I’m sure we’ll get a video on it eventually. Good question.

Do you believe one can be a false convert, I wonder. That's the only way I can think of my past self, because after being raised with great affection for Jesus, I fell into a sinful lifestyle, calling myself an atheist for four years. When I realised how meaningless it all was, and what I'd given up, I mourned my disobedience and wickedness, begging God to forgive me. Reading Hebrews broke me all over again, and I thought I had no hope at restoration.
The thing is, since I've come back to Jesus, I FEEL my sin, which I never ever did before I fell away. I was never convicted of my huge anger outbursts or my dreadful disrespect of my parents, or lying or gossip, etc, etc, etc.
I find it hard to think that I could have had the Holy Spirit while having no faith, laughing at Christians. I might have to wait till I get to heaven to find out if I was a lost sheep, who Jesus left the 99 to bring back, or if I was new to the fold several years ago.

2 peter 2:20 is a verse I've been wrestling with lately and I appreciate the insight. However, what some people seldom bring up in regard to this issue is the verse 2 peter 1:4
whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, *having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.*
Peter, earlier in his epistle, is addressing fellow christians and he describes them as "having escaped the corruptions of the world", which is similar to the group being addresses in 2 peter 2:20 who had escaped the pollutions of the world. My interpretation is that 2 peter 2:20 refers to christians who had attained a level of spiritual maturity (escaped the pollutions of the world) but they end up getting duped by false teachers. The "holy commandment" and the "way of righteousness" refers to God's exhortation for believers to live holy as detailed in 1 peter 1:15 - 16
but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, since it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.”
The reason the latter end will be worse for them, and why it would've been better for them not to have known the right way is because God is going to hold them accountable for knowing the way of righteousness, but choosing to turn from it. For unto whomever much is given much shall be required. Hope this helps someone and God bless.

Also, the word "among you" "among" indicates a separate group. Its the same as attending a church....there are usually, at least, two distinct yet separate groups...there are the members of the church and there are visitors of the church. The visitors are AMONG the members who have not yet become members....who may be visiting because they like to be associated with believers....but they themselves may either be actual believers or sinners who have not come to faith in Christ. So when we read the entire chapter of James 6...it is referring to those "AMONG" believers....even in verse 20. I believe the same applies to 2 Peter 2:20.

Are you feeding sin or yeilding to worldly things, movies, music, friends, books, porn, coveting, selfishness, anger, money.
Or are you yielding to the spirit to change you in, discipleship, discipline, Gods word, worship, fellowship with church friends, Godly abstinence for a spouse, sharing the gospel to the lost, whatever it might be do to the glory of God.
Whatever you feed will alway affect your joy for better or worse.
Rest in Him that none of your works will earn salvation, but also don't yeild to carnalitly for it will ruin your usefulness here and the abundant life. Hope this helps!

31:09 figuring out which is which is necessary. Because after I received Baptism of the Holy Spirit and then went out and did what a wicked spirit asked me to do from out side( I didn't fully comprehend that was the wicked spirit) the result was that that spirit either latched onto me again or just hadn't separated as it was supposed to ( circumcision of the heart). So I still had that presence of the New Nature, but my garment of the whole armour of God was damaged, I didn't die physically but perhaps that was close( not that close) to what Ananias and Sapphira
faced after lying to the Holy Spirit. And again, why apostle says "beware of idols", it is always reference to latching on of the wicked spirit. So how do we qualify that? Because this is what 2 Peter says - it is that giving your mind to under influence og the wicked spirits again and it is damages our nature and our soul and physical connection to the Word mad flesh. So how do we qualify that? What do we call that damage?

      Hey there!
Matthew 25 is worth the time and study because it is one passage at first glance (especially when out of context) looks like it’s about earning salvation.
I (Trent) personally believe the passage is referring to individuals who have believed in Christ and individuals who have not. This is during the tribulation period in the future when the 144,000 Jews will be proclaiming the gospel.
Apparently there is such a stark contrast (physically, noticeably) between believers and unbelievers, and that will be evidenced by what they do. The believers will be there for “the least of these my brethren” and the unbelievers will not. It is my personal belief that those “brethren” are the 144,000.
It’s malicious to say that these individuals go into eternal life solely on the basis of helping “the least of these my brethren” and that those who do not will end up in hell. This contradicts a wealth of scripture from John 3:16, 5:24, 6:47 to Eph. 2:8-9, Titus 3:5, Phil. 3:9.
      Thanks!

James 3:14-16 - But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast and be false to the truth. This is not the wisdom that comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice.
Jealousy/Envy can be very dangerous for yourself and the person who is the object of your jealousy. Dangerous for you because that person becomes a more important focus for you than God. Dangerous for the person because if they leave you, while you are still alive, will you let them go? Or will your jealousy prevent them from leaving you.
The main thing you need to do is give your issue to the Lord in prayer. God knows the depth of our hearts and what we struggle with in our flesh. Rely on his word and the help of the Holy Spirit within you to help you overcome jealousy.
I myself struggle with envy. It is a constant battle. But God is showing me the way out of it.

Aaron, it is possible. The Hebrews did that very thing. They left Jesus for animal sacrifice and law practice. The writer of Hebrews was explaining to them that they were saved by Jesus when they believed in Him, and there is no need to sacrifice in animals to further receive any payment for sin. They already had eternal life. The act of them sacrificing animals again for salvation is equivalent to the idea of putting Jesus back on the cross as though his sacrifice was not enough. This would be a form of apostasy and lack of belief in the truth. The author never doubts their salvation though.
      To answer the other guy.
You can’t say someone “never believed.” You’re fruit inspecting their life. It’s not the fruit that determines if a person is saved, but it’s the root: belief. If they did believe at one point, it is POSSIBLE to fall away into apostasy, but the falling away doesn’t eliminate their salvation. Believers can do this: Corinth, Ephesus, Laodicea, Hebrews, Galatia, etc…
Willful sin, as bad as it is, and as shameful/disgraceful as it is, is still PAID by the blood. Heb. 10:10-14

Their (Apollo, Paul, and Cephas) works (gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, and stubble) were to be revealed by fire, not the lay (as in the false Bema judgment). The way I see it however, just as he says, how could someone turn away apostasize from something they supposedly have faith in? I almost wonder if they even truly had faith to begin. It's like learning and believing the sky is blue all your life and then suddenly one day you turn around and say "nope. I don't believe the sky is blue anymore." How could you? Did you honestly believe the sky was blue to begin with or did you just follow what everyone else told you? In that case, only God knows their hearts.

    Hi Pastor.I have a question.
So, when I sin, I no longer need to ask for forgiveness because I already accepted Jesus Christ as my savior, and all my sins have been forgiven, and my apologies are no longer required ?
I ask this because I just recently left the gospel of Faith +works. "Repentance" gospel.
And I'm still learning about the true gospel.
So every time that I sin, I feel bad and ask for forgiveness, but I don't know if when I do this what I'm showing a lack of faith in what Jesus already did for me or if it's ok to ask for forgiveness every time that I sin.
I hope that you can help me with this doubt.

      Hey there!
The only requirement to be saved into eternal life is to believe in Jesus Christ who paid for all of your sins. The moment you believe he paid for your sins by his death, burial and resurrection, you receive eternal life.
Asking for forgiveness is not the best understanding. This is not really even a clear term because the Bible doesn’t even use it. You receive forgiveness of all sins the moment you believe.
After you have believed in Christ, it is important to “confess your sin,” but this does not apply to your salvation. This is the idea John and Paul iterate when it comes to a believer’s fellowship. Confessing sin is coming to an agreement with God that sin is wrong. It’s the idea in 1 John regarding our fellowship or closeness to God. We are children of God by faith in Jesus Christ, but we aren’t always close to God in our walk with Him.
Confession is a piece that restores our fellowship with Him because we are agreeing with God that the sin we have done (or been doing) is wrong. See 1 John 1.

The 37 year old stage 4 cancer patient knew full well he was hell bound...he said so, but rejected Christ anyway.
That is a scary thought, is it not?
Regarding believers, we are still in the flesh, with corrupt bodies; and frankly that means we are capable potentially of wandering off into serious error.
That could be adultery, murder-or even losing our faith and walking away from Christ.

Galatians 3:26...For ye are all children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, YE WERE SEALED with that holy Spirit OF PROMISE,
14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

You made the key point eloquently. They cannot see the forest for the trees. To fixate on 2 Peter 2 as teaching you can lose your salvation, is a direct contradiction with all the concepts of grace taught by Paul and the actual words of Jesus himself. These people have utterly butchered the gospel of salvation by grace THROUGH faith. They conflate "faith" with "works." In their mind, its up to us to muster up enough faith somehow that God just has to respond, "Oh My! You are SO faithful, you DESERVE to be saved." Ephesians 2:8,9 expressly states that the faith doesn't even come from us. The faith we need to believe comes from God as a gift! To devolve the wonderful concept of Grace from a merciful and loving God into a lifetime of fearful servitude and shame is truly heartbreaking to see. The devil is working overtime with these folks.

Thing is there is a grade to backsliding, you may kinda still be hanging from above on you ripped New Nature, but it is something, it is still something. and if a person new that in such situation he must enjoy what's left and refuse from trying to get renewed again, and just act like JAcob( doing what God still says directly to your heart and ignore the rules- take that "Eusa's lessing") he still would be good enough. But backsliding exacerbates be still trying to make it perfect on the outside, following the written letter that kills and quenching by it the living still tangible connecting to the New Nature.

The first person to espouse the idea of "once saved, always saved" was John Calvin in the mid.16th century. Even Martin Luther did not subscribe to this teaching. Prior to Calvin, the unanimous consent of early Christians was that a person is capable of losing salvation by committing a grave sin without repentance as John spoke about in 1.John 5:16-17.
No suggestion of once saved, always saved can be found on the lips of any Christian before Calvin.

[22] But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, [23] gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. To know how to escape, and to actually escape are very different.
The Apostle Paul stated several times he was fearful that he had labored in vain, when hearing reports about gentile converts straying from the way he preached to them. If its OSAS why was he fearful?
What does it mean to actually believe? Which may be the real issue here. How many people who profess to believe are actually deceiving themselves? Professing faith in Christ while simultaneously indulging in sin. A faith which bears no fruit is a dead faith.
From a human perspective it may look like fellow Christians have made genuine conversions. But God knows our secrets and the inner workings of our hearts.

If this person once believed, upon believing they are sealed and figuratively they are now dead and there life is hid with God. Colossians 3:3.
Now doing those sins, they will suffer consequences here for sure in this life.
Even if they quit believing for a time because if we believe not God still abides faithful because he can not deny himself that was born in you (christ in you)
      2 Timothy 2:13
As far as rewards and losing them, it's hard to say with Mathew 20 1-6.
God paid the workers in the Vinyard all the same reward, irregardless if they worked for one minute or all day. And the ones who worked all day were ticked off. God said he was good and wanted to give all equal.
Some Christians in this life think they will get rewarded with much more than others based on their behavior but I see it as we all will get equal.
In Luke 18:13 we have a perfectly law keeping righteous pharasise and a heathen publican who refers to himself as a sinful man, yet Christ justified the sinners attitude towards himself more than the righteous one. It's all about the heart. I want to do good but can't, who will save me attitude Paul had in Romans 7 is a great one to have in your heart.
Back to rewards, even the fallen sinful backsliding ones. I actual hope they get more because they are going to live a tough miserable life here and I'd love to see them get as much as some perfect Christians, full of works.
That would be some crazy grace wouldn't it? Almost unbelievable! We will see and I am 60% sure I'm right, haha hopefully. 😅

:12 seconds in he changed scripture (the one against osas) and says "for which 'they' were sanctified".
Scripture does not say they, it says he.
The person sanctified here listed as "he" is Jesus. ‭
    Jesus was sanctified.
say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world John 10:36
The verse is saying to the Hebrews, of that time, who wanted to go back to Judaism and the law to sacrifice animals for sin thay we will sin wilfully (and we will because it says we) and if we do there isn't a sacrifice we can do now, since christ is the sacrifice and he sacrificed once for all sin.
And if you go back on that and back to your old sacrifice for sins, you put yourself back under the law of Moses and you are going to have sore punishment because you despised the new way of dealing with sin, and that's Jesus.
If the word did say "they" than it would have an entirely new meaning to that verse, but it says he, meaning a man, not man and women (they or us) and that man (he) is Jesus.
Then it says the Lord will judge his people, did not Jesus judge his people (Israel) in 70ad by destroying 660,000 jews at the hand of the Romans. Yes he did, the verse came true for them who despised Christ's grace, the Hebrews.

@31:41 2 Peter 2:22 is speaking of dogs and pigs. Dogs (in other Bible contexts) are unbelieving Gentiles (see the interaction with Jesus and the Gentile woman about not giving the children's food to the little dogs - Matthew 15:26). And the pig was an unclean animal.
Where in scripture are God's true believers compared to these two animals? Believers are referred to as God's sheep. That's why Jesus is referred to as the Good Shepard. Not the good pig herder or dog wrangler.
I compare dogs returning to their vomit and pigs to the mire, with Jesus' explanation of someone being delivered from an unclean spirit, then repossessed. Just because the unclean spirit is cast out does not mean that person is saved. If they then do not invite the Holy Spirit into the empty, and swept clean, space then the original evil spirit will realize their former home is still empty. And will then find a group of spirits more wicked than itself to go and inhabit that place even more firmly than before. So that the last state of that man is worse than before.
Jesus warned the Jews of His day that is what would happen to the nation after His departure. He swept many clean (cast out many devils) and taught true doctrine. But many did not believe. And the state of bondage that was coming later on would be worse than if they had never been swept clean. Matthew 12:43-45
Same with these verses in Peter. To whom much is given, much is required. And the more you know about the gospel, and the way of truth, and then reject it, the worse your punishment. The dogs and pigs may have been washed, by mere exposure to the truth. But it's obvious they were not one of God's sheep. So they returned to activities dictated by their unredeemed natures (returning to vomit and wallowing in the mire).
So it's clear to me that the people being referred to in 2 Peter 2:22 are not former redeemed believers who somehow lost their salvation. Because salvation cannot be lost.
Can people gain benefits (like being washed, or being the recipient of miracles) from being near to the kingdom of God (by being around true believers)? Yes. But that makes their punishment for their unbelief all the worse. See all of the woes that Jesus pronounced against the cities that He and His disciples taught in, that did not believe.
    Matthew 11:20-24
20 Then He began to rebuke the cities in which most of His mighty works had been done, because they did not repent: 21 “Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. 22 But I say to you, it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the day of judgment than for you. 23 And you, Capernaum, who are exalted to heaven, will be brought down to Hades; for if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. 24 But I say to you that it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment than for you.”

Pastor Joe shimmel doesn't believe in the rapture either. I'm sick of these pastors who are also trying to steal that promise from us too.

1Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, 2Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. 3And this will we do, if God permit. 4For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, 5And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, 6If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. 7For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God: 8But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.

Either Jesus is the Covenant- keeping God-man or he isn't.
Either you are in covenant with him by faith through grace- or you aren't.
    There is no middle ground.
    New Creation or old one.
    Period.
    End of story.
I'm trusting that Jew to save me and keep me saved..

I have no religion but I believed what is written in the Bible they are all came from GOD. Once saved always saved, Faith alone, Eternal security, Truly saved, Jesus Christ paid it all even future sins and these beliefs are not written in the Bible they are all human logic and only preach what are written in the Bible no interpretation needed do not use other bible verses to contradict other verses.
What we must do is to read and believe what is written in the Bible without the interference from the church leaders and pray to our Lord JESUS CHRIST directly for help.

What I don't understand didn't Judas have faith in Jesus and who he was because he followed him for three and a half years. Also, Judas did more than some Christians do he left his family and friends and even his job to follow Jesus. That takes a lot of faith to give up everything to follow Christ. And I believe he was lost in the end. Thanks

Judas was not a believer in Jesus as a personal savior. He would have been one of the ones in Matthew 7:21-23. He still trusted in the law and his righteousness rather than in Jesus.

@@ChrisSadowski-pp1npthat doesn't answer the question though. That'd be like asking how do you get saved and I say it was prophesied some will believe and some won't. Judas did not actually believe. He is a perfect example of why we can't judge someone by outward actions.

@@anbreadnut he was never a believer. We are saved by faith and not by our works. Ephesians 2:8-9, Titus 3:5 we will display good works as a result of our salvation. James 2:17. Some people claim to know God but deny him by the way they live. Titus 1:16. And some people freely turn away from their salvation. Hebrews 6. :4-6 some people appear also to be saved but are not. Matthew 7:22 -23 and Luke 13 when Jesus says I never knew you.
