Thank you for reacting to the video! No worries, just like you guys, I have no idea what 50% of the video means, JoCat wrote most of the script lolololol
Gen Z is just that episode of Star Trek where they couldn't understand the alien species because they only spoke in metaphors and memes, and no one understood them because they did not know the context of WTF they were talking about.
The term "Brainrot" was used previously to describe a show, book, game, (insert entertainment form) so dumb it would rot your brain just by indulging in it. I guess this new use is acknowledgement of the previous? Also, "finesse" is not slang and is an actual word used in the correct context here. It means to do something in a delicate manner so that it's not easily noticed. It has been used in the manner here for a long time (especially when it comes to getting dates, job interviews, career advancements, etc). It's basically a nice way of saying "manipulate".
I must still be in "it". Millennial here...I understood most of this. Now if only I had kids to massively embarrass with purposely misusing this new slang.
Older millenial here. While I did perceive most of the speech, I feel like I was merely making comparisons between Gaius speech (which has already been engraved in my head) and what is being said, so that might have helped. But more importantly, I don't think I will actually be using these terms in real life, unless I'm doing it like an uncle trying to use newer slangs.
Also a millennial, and I understood most of it. I spend too much of my time on the internet with younguns lol. "Oomphies" was also the first term that I didn't get
I have no idea why but I'll sometimes spend like a week being confused about new slang and then suddenly it'll click with me. Maybe Gen Z and gen alpha brainrot is compatible with my brain.
The funny thing is that it is the exact same. It’s just that it’s steeped in horrible internet culture and you need to be aware of one k-pop term, a lot of incel/looksmaxxing terms, and even more cancellation terms, and some popularized AAVE slang.
Garrett reminding us all that it’s okay to have our own experiences and we don’t need to be up to date on everything: 😎 Kyle reminding us that life has already zoomed past us and we are behind the curve: 😮
@5:51 I think the face on the right is the Dr. Han expression when the main character from The Good Doctor starts screaming, "I AM A SURGEON, DR. HAN! I AM A SURGEON! I AAAM A SURGEON DR. HAN! I AAAM A SURGEON."
That one simpsons scene is coming true for me, with Grandpa talking about how he was with "it" and then suddenly "it" was something new and scary. I can feel myself aging away into dust as I watch, I am officially old and out of touch XD
Once upon the time there was a beautiful TH-cam video... ..that fell to brainrot and became cringe inside and out. The more its viewers tried to understand, the more they are confused. Until they let go of their sanity, and embrace the madness. Those who denied the cringes, those who ravel in insanity... And all of them still do not understand anything in it to these days.
Actually it’s not even strictly Gen Alpha either. This is just the entirety of Gen Z slang from 2010 to now and it feels like a dank farewell to the freewheeling of these memes.
@@sammicopor sometimes i hate being bilingual when i see this shit , i dont know how in the hell the english got this dumb it really sound like someone had a impediment speach
So I've been wondering this for a while. You've done wall of dungeons, you've done wall of trials. Where is our Wall of Kyles (and Garretts) of your favorite thumbnails.
I would say people are too hard on gen z also, but then I remember how they often don't think to check the dates on stuff, so they go "Hey, I heard this new song from this new band. They're called Aerosmith."
FYI this is gen alpha, not gen z. Gen z is absurd humor, these phrases are beyond absurd to the abstract. There are quite a few gen z phrases too here, but most, and the weirdest are gen alpha
Delulu is specifically from k-pop while coping is a more streamer/gamer term. Unfortunately, because “Gen Z humor” is just the mashing up of the collective last 15 years of slang with no regards to even when the slang was most popular and therefore which would use what, there are redundant terms.
Thank you for reacting to the video! No worries, just like you guys, I have no idea what 50% of the video means, JoCat wrote most of the script lolololol
Maybe it's the right decision to cancel him....
Joke joke
Lmao
Its spreading.....
Holy crap he did? mans a genius!
That god damn comedic genius. Praise be to JoCat!
The praetorium speech is a modern day Rosetta stone
Gen Z is just that episode of Star Trek where they couldn't understand the alien species because they only spoke in metaphors and memes, and no one understood them because they did not know the context of WTF they were talking about.
Skibidi and Rizz at Ohio
Shaka, when the gyatt's bussin'
Jumbo Josh, his gyatt open
We on a mewing streak
It's not just Gen Z, Gen Alpha seems to be doing the same
5:50 this meme is the one of the lady trying to explain something and the other lady wrapped in a blanked looking at her like "please stop"

After hearing the actual monologue a thousand times. All this gibberish bullshit makes perfect sense to me
I actually understand the original dialogue more, I dont understand most of this gibberish. Its a forced language & thats why it sounds so awful.
The funny thing is that it is the exact same. It’s just that it’s steeped in horrible internet culture and you need to be aware of one k-pop term, a lot of incel/looksmaxxing terms, and even more cancellation terms, and some popularized AAVE slang.
Yeah I feel like the fact I know the original monologue kinda just helps me understand the slang.
The editing on this is AMAZING. Damn good job, Nahuel!
"Skibidi reaction soon" has threatening aura
That was straight bussin fam no cap
On god fr fr

Speaking like that in metaphors & memes is NOT advanced, its actually backwards.
I do not envy the poor bastard who had to find all the reference materials

Ahh, maybe, I didn't recognize it at a glance.
6:15 is the Josh Hutcherson Whistle Edit.
As if the english language wasn’t already an eldritch horror. XD
Poor Nahuel.
Your sacrifice is GYAT!!!
That the definitions flash on screen is greatly appreciated 👍❤
Just want to say before I even start this: as a reminder, the oldest of gen z are 27 now lol.
Each generation seems to be watered down more than the last.
Our elderly now are people born in 1960s & the 1950s.
I like Rong Rong, started off doing Dragon Nest content when it was a thing in 2013 or 2014(cant remember anymore haha) when it was run by Nexon.
That one simpsons scene is coming true for me, with Grandpa talking about how he was with "it" and then suddenly "it" was something new and scary. I can feel myself aging away into dust as I watch, I am officially old and out of touch XD

This is more of a mix of Gen Z and Gen Alpha
It truly concerns me that the english language could become so butchered & watered down.
@@iantaakalla8180 not quite. Lot's of mlg stuff is missing as well as most of the mid 2010's. It's mostly 2018 and onwards.
That video is incredible, it just keeps on giving
"Is anyone here young?" LMAOOO
JoCat went so wild on this one, what a banger :'D
And that thumbnail is madness !
the yoots your honor
Ah'm sorry, the hwhat? Did you say 'yoots'?
the entire video has me in tears. funniest shit i've ever seen frfr
So I've been wondering this for a while.
You've done wall of dungeons, you've done wall of trials.
Where is our Wall of Kyles (and Garretts) of your favorite thumbnails.
This makes me feel old and I’m only 23
I would say people are too hard on gen z also, but then I remember how they often don't think to check the dates on stuff, so they go "Hey, I heard this new song from this new band. They're called Aerosmith."
@5:51 It looks like the "Me explaining to my mom" meme. Not sure at 100%, but it's pretty close I think!
Thank you for the traduction of those words... I didn't understand shit and had to pause everytime to read so I can understand what he's talking about
Come to think of it, the difference between truth and false is taking the "i" out of biased.
You know, I have _never_ felt relevant but I didn't know I could feel *_less_* relevant. At least I understood "throwing shade."
I understood the bit about chads, that ones more older.
So this is the slang all the kids use these days. *waves GenX cane*. I mean, this is worse than the Rogues' Guild.
An "umphie" is a mutual internet follower.
I'm halfway through and i fucking can't guys. Im an old man now. I know how my parents felt now. Ahhhh!
Amazing editing though!
Thanks for including the meanings it's too hard for me to understand XD
I'm 42. I don't understand half the shit that was said in that video lol. Was good for a laugh though as someone that's played FFXIV for over 8 yrs.
Thumbnails are out of control! 🤟
I can feel myself aging by centuries with each passing slang word spoken. Unholy is this video.
its ok, i didnt even understand this as a gen z. born 2000
I hated it... I hated the whole thing... My brain was trying to break free after listening to that.
~Gen x stare* ok ... we need this done with x and millenial too!
“Throwing shade” and “chads” and “alpha/beta males” are late Millennial slang.
Why is Shannon Sharpe in the corner? Was that part of the video they're watching?
FYI this is gen alpha, not gen z. Gen z is absurd humor, these phrases are beyond absurd to the abstract.
There are quite a few gen z phrases too here, but most, and the weirdest are gen alpha
Gen Z terms are what happens when your language is dictated by internet inside jokes.
Morning all o/
Wait if they have "delulu", Why do they bother butchering the word Cope to mean basically the same thing??
Delulu is specifically from k-pop while coping is a more streamer/gamer term. Unfortunately, because “Gen Z humor” is just the mashing up of the collective last 15 years of slang with no regards to even when the slang was most popular and therefore which would use what, there are redundant terms.
Its Better Than JoCat! JoCat Is Cringe!
