  • Who else dreads performing annual reviews for their employees? If that's you, keep reading...
    1. Annual reviews by themselves can be overwhelming without a steady flow of regular feedback throughout the year. Establish a system of routine feedback, ideally monthly. You'll have much better engagement and follow-through with your team.
    2. If your practice isn't able to sustain raises, reviews often get avoided. Refer back to point #1 and separate the issues. On that same note, many employers fear sharing a shortened version of their P&Ls with their team. Don't be afraid! Teams want their employers to succeed. Knowledge of overhead and what it takes to keep staff salaries in check creates "aha" moments for employees. Over the years we've seen clients share this and watch their teams rally to improve it!
