Very often Anakin's bending the rules yielded positive or beneficial results, and who can forget that time he helped Yoda escape from the Temple infirmary when everyone else thought Yoda was crazy for hearing Qui Gon's voice.
      That was literally instrumental in allowing Yoda to learn how to become a Force Ghost.

      And then things start going downhill. He is placed on the council but denied the rank of master, told to spy on the chancellor (which went against his morality) and Master Kenobi wouldn't help him out. Then, he starts having dreams about Padme dying and tells Yoda about it, but doesn't get any help. His faith in the Jedi Order is crumbling.
      His confidence is then increased towards the wrong side as Palpatine tells him about the Jedi and Sith being near equals, as well as the tragedy of Darth Plagueis. This then causes him to get attracted towards the dark side due to them supposedly having the power to save people from dying, like he wanted in Episode 2.
      The last straw happens when he finds out Palpatine--the one he desires help from--is the Sith Lord. Conflicted between two sides, he ultimately decides to save the ones he loved in the first place and turns to darkness. The worst part is, he didn't save anyone.

      Mace: what is it?
      Ahsoka: this is where the fun begins
      Mace: Say no more, (activates lightsaber) I never trusted Skywalker anyway

    • @joseignacioreallozano348
      @joseignacioreallozano348 4 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      I don't think anything would have changed
      I mean, c'mon, just with the films the Jedi were already aware that something was about to happen, and that the Sith were in control of the senate
      Then, with the Clone Wars series they have even more reasons to be aware, like, c'mon, the Five's arc? Yoda's arc later?
      The Jedi were just too full of themselves to even care, they thought they were unbeatable, and why wouldn't they think otherwise? They were winning the war. Sidious had manipulated it so they felt that way, but the sad truth is... Sidious didn't create that feeling, just fed it, the jedi had this coming for a long time, and let it happen.
      Just a simple comment from Ashoka wouldn't have change anything, sadly.

    Anakin was his happiest at the start of ROTS, because of Ahsoka possibly returning at his side again. But sadly that’s not the ending we did get, and instead we got what was inevitably always going to happen, and Clone wars captured this brilliantly in the most tragic ways possible.

  • @1ULTRAKNIGHT
    @1ULTRAKNIGHT 4 ปีที่แล้ว +67

    Honestly the Clone Wars Cartoon - both of them - really push the best parts of a prequel story.
    Most prequels shouldn't matter, especially when characters from the later series are in it. Obi-Wan and Anakin can't have lasting damage or anything. Yet with great writing, animation bringing them to life, and fantastic voice work to give them and other characters' souls, The Clone Wars Cartoons show the path to darkness, the tragedy briefly obscured by the bittersweet happiness we see these characters experience.
    For every moment we see Anakin and Obi Wan bantering,Ahsoka being Snippy, or the general positivity, the original trilogy's facts haunt from just beyond the horizon.

Harvey Dent in the Dark Knight and Anakin are similar in some ways with both of their rise and fall from grace with the quote "You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain". That is why it's a war crime, because it breaks the sanctity of surrender. The reason why war crimes exist isn't to protect the opposite sides, but both sides of the conflict to ensure needless violence and deaths are limited, and thus two side agree certain limitations of conduct.
