Hello. I have a hair question. I believe it's true that hairs, from whatever part of the body, gently taper to a point at the tip. When you cut them, the tip is then blunted, sometimes jaggedly, which causes itching. My question is, how long after cutting does it take for the tip to return to its gently tapered condition, as I believe it will do though simple friction? I'm not asking because I'm concerned about itching, I'm simply interested in the time frame for the hair, under a microscope, to return to its "natural" state at the tip. Thank you for the channel, it's informative.
I'm not sure if hair ever truly tapers again. It might be something interesting to investigate in the future. On the topic of itching, I believe that it is mostly relieved when the hair grows past the skin enough that the disrupted cuticle no longer affects the skin so much. Thanks for watching!
