Yesterday, I assembled my PC ( first time in a lifetime) in Corsair 5000t case with FULL icue RGB fans and AIO based on this sole video that i rewatched 10 times. Insane good video. Thank you. P.S. Not only this video helped me assemble my PC but many others from THIS channel!
@Deathwish699 no additional cables were required. I had 2x boxes of 3 in 1 kit of QX120 RGB coolers + 1 single box of QX120 cooler + QX120 radiator( 3 fans) on top of the case. No any additional cables were needed. These boxes have it all. Very clean but expensive build!
Just wanted to say thank you. I wasn’t getting power to the fans on the radiator on my H170i. I couldn’t figure it out because the directions weren’t clear on looping a cable from the end of the radiator to the side/top of the radiator. Seeing you do that instantly fixed the problem and ended my woes. I didn’t see the port on the side/top when I installed the radiator so was clueless to its existence. Thank you!
Same here, although the suspiciously short length of some of the cables had me hunting for a guide a lot earlier in the process. When I found this video my first thought was "how the heck is that not in the manual?" So I went back and checked. I wish I could paste an image here, because it's so dumb. It's angled from above the fan, so you see the connection to the controller, and a cable going off the bottom of the image. If you look closely enough, you'll see a few millimeters of it looping back up and disappearing behind the edge of the fan. That's it. The actual connector is not visible whatsoever, and nowhere else in the manual is the connector on the side of the fan shown. Someone decided these were clear enough instructions. Sheesh.
thank you you saved me and my friend so much time and energy, he bought this and I had no idea how to install it. eventually we ran into your video , your video is the perfect video that we needed. Thank you for the video, I will like and subscribe because of this.
Hello, I have a problem with my icue link h170i. I have an Asus rog maximus hero motherboard and when I start the PC I get a message: CPU error fan. The operating system is not yet installed. Could you help me?@@TheProvokedPrawn
Thank you for all the help!! Got all my goodies in, the white EVO XL, seven white Corsair iCue QX fans, and the white H150i LCD AIO. Without your help I would have never finished it. It looks gorgeous and performs great!!
I think Corsair realized that not including the mini cable with the single fan was a bad move. I just purchased the AIO, 3 fans, and a single fan -- and the single fan came with the cable in the box.
Same here, except the cable it comes with is WAY too short. My AIO is in the front, and single fan in the rear for exhaust. Single fan cable wont reach the AIO or to the controller box. Needed to buy a 600mm cable from them for $25…
@@Cognitoman you will if you plan on having a rear fan most likely. The cable it comes with is about 3 inches long. The cable I ordered is about 10 inches.
Thank you so much for this video. From it I found that the fans needed to be connected to the radiator hub. The corsair guide didn’t make sense but this video saved me from pulling more hair out! Cheers!

Just a personal thanks, i built my first pc at 32 y.o. never had the money finally saved and went full amd/corsair. Your videos got me to boot screen/installing windows. Cheers 🍻
The part where you plugged the single fan into the AIO fans is the moment I decided to buy all this stuff for my next build. This was made for me, I hate routing fan cables lol
Would love to see you make this build but in a Corsair 7000D airflow white. I would like to know if it's possible to set 4 fans in the front, 4 in the side, 1 in the rear and then the 3 AIO fans up top without any issues.
Thank you so much. My Corsair h150 RGB just died and was dreading cable management. I am now planning to upgrade to the same setup you described but had questions re installation and extra exhaust fan options. So much cleaner and easier.
Thank you so much for this video. This is the best AIO on the market and the quietest (both fan and pump). However, I couldn't install it without watching this video because the factory manual wasn't very clear.
Just got most of my parts for my new build and am going with this link set-up. Going to go with the H150i Link AIO, then replace the two 120mm fans on my GPU Radiator with the Link fans, then link to two more 140mm QX fans on the bottom of the case. And Finally connect the rear QX fan to the AIO or the bottom fans. (Have to see the space situation first) As a FYI, Corsair is now selling the Link AIO Radiators with the LCD display. (Also has the standalone LCD you can replace the old one with but it's on back-order atm) Many thanks for the video! Knew the basics for this already, but this video makes it a lot easier to understand.
you got the same number of fans as me, I just found out about this system after revising what's new with Asus ROG so I knew Corsair had to had there's also. IMO when it comes to RGB corsair rules, I just ordered this before checking the video I will need that last cable for the back fan to daisy chain it. Thanks man.
It sure does. I just finished transplanting everything from my old case into the 5000D Airlfow and am using 6 corsair fans with the commander core XT. At first I thought I was going to be able to make everything neat and tidy but I soon realized that I was still going to end up with cable salad back there. In the front of my case everything looks great but the back is a nightmare.
Wow. So much easier than the Commander and Commander Pro and the link nodes. Cables are just everywhere with those. Fan control cable, RGB control cable, multiple commander nodes, etc. just makes it one big mess with trying to wire manage it. I am seriously looking at going this route with the new link system.
@@TheProvokedPrawn I really like the daisy chaining. I'm planning on eventually replacing all my fans with the RMX ones. Much cleaner setup than with a commander core.
Just bought the aio and a a 3 pack and a separyone by it self. The 3 pack now comes with 2 cables even though the box says just one. So they learned they need to give a extra one
Corsair improved on Lian Li ideas and came out with some nice solutions. But with some ugly rip offs, as well ! Anyway, this video is a helpful tutorial for future owners ! Nicely done !
Hey thank you very much for your video I just installed the radiator and fan system in a new pc I'm building flawlessly all based on your video it worked great 👍😃
Just to let you know: I bought a iCUE Link QX120 RGB Expansion Kit (single Fan) and I had an extra cable in it. I just did a full 10 Fan 5000D Case build and I didn't needed any additional cable. (2x 3fan expansion kits, 1x 1fan expansion kit and 1x H150i RGB kit) - The only thing that worries me, is the motherboard cable behind the fan/radiador. They are mega tight.
4:32 that’s fan dependent. I got the LX120 single fan and it came with a single short Link cable on top of the 2 connectors, so purchasing the cable kit was not necessary since I was planning to daisy chain the single fan to the AIO radiator. I still got the cable kit and wasted my money because this video told me otherwise, so don’t be like me and actually read what comes in the single box instead of trusting TH-cam videos unconditionally This video was very helpful in setting up the link system, his statement here was just incorrect and fan dependent
Dude I love your voice! You sound just like another channel I watch for Final Fantasy 14 news, Meoni lol. Anyways, really helpful video that I will be coming back to in a few months once I get all the parts for my new PC build!
Update For anyone watching this video since being released, single fans also include the wires in the box now, and the tripple 120 and double 140 kits come with multiple different wires both 90 and straight cables and also come with a hub 🙂
Thank you very much for this, built my new system with a ique link h100i aio but my fans weren't lighting up or spinning, I had the short hub cable going from hub to radiator not fans to radiator. I wondered why it was so short. Thanks to your video I was able to work out what I done wrong.
You sir have helped me solve my problem, you have the same fan setup as me and near enough the same case as me, i needed help with how to connect the single rear fan..because i originally had it on its own socket in the system hub and the others all on the second hub, i felt like thats why i was getting a notification about the brightness being reduced due to system hub limitations even though i was sure one hub could manage the LCD screen,3 rad fans and 3 front fans equaling 7 for one socket
Hi guys, I didn't remove the plastic on minute 9:18, it's a big deal? Pls this stupid thing is driving me crazy and i alreasy installed it so idk if it's worth to do it again. Ty ❤
I believe they changed the cables you get because I did this exact setup a couple of days ago and had enough to link the rear fan to the top fans without buying another cable set
The cable thing isn't that bad. Just installed a QX140 starter kit. Then after confirming the other fan sizes, ordered another single QX140. Both the kit AND the single come with a short right-angle cable. Not sure if it's an update or not, but unless one is trying to connect something way across the case, or a straight plug is either ideal or a must for "perfection," you're set.
Did a refresh on my pc and a new case and picked up these fans over a week ago and they look really nice. Just waiting on corsair to send me more cables so i can hook up my other fans lol
small update, in my qx12 rgb starting kit I got one short 90 90 degree cable, and one long straight 90 degrees cable. so they listened to the feedback :)
It's important to note there's a limitation of 7 devices per connection side on the hub. That means if you have a Corsair 7000 case and want to mount 4 120mm fans on the front and 4 on the side, there's one fan that can't be part of the daisy chain and needs to be cabled separately. Likewise, in an AIO setup with a push/pull configuration, so 6 fans, and the rad itself counting as a device too, you're already maxed out. So you can't have your rear exhaust linked to the rad and would need to cable that separately as well. But the hub only has two connections for a maximum of 14 devices. So in a setup like that you're at 16 devices and thus you'll need two Link hubs to connect them all -- and long cables to loop all the way from one side of the case to another. Which might be a problem since the longest Link cable is only 600mm. The Link system would work decently well in a 5000 case, where you can 'only' have 6 intake fans on the front, bringing you down to 14 total devices. But still, if you have a push/pull AIO you're going to have to connect your rear fan all the way to the front fans because the AIO completely saturates one side. So I feel the system is really contradicting itself. The concept is great because you minimise cabling immensely when you have a large amount of fans - such as their cases *enable* you to have - yet the system doesn't work well if you do. Which could be remedied instantly if it would allow just one more device per side. A missed opportunity if you ask me.
I don’t get how u would cable one of your side/front fans separately they all want to connect already and there is nothing we can use to separate them from automatically connecting, do I have to just force apart because that looks ugly
I just purchased all of this, only need 6 black qx120 icue link fans next. I ended up buying 2 white qx120 icue link fans to test...I was wondering how the rear fan connects to the iCUE link hub..but after watching your video. Thank You.
Hope they make a custom cable to power the controller directly from their PSU. Like I don't like using one of those cables that have a pair of 6+2, like the one shown in the video...
When setting up my computer I saw to "USB c" connectors and I was like the small black box and the radiator have one, I guess u have an extra, thank you for the video as now my fans work lol
I purchased this kit to see if it was any better than my commander pro and the answer is no hell, no the commander pro has so much potential. You can add any fan from any manufacturer you can add any temperature sensor any USB header any LED lights you’re not stuck to one brand like you are with the icue link kit.
With your set up you leave 2 slots on the aio fan near the exhaust fan and you can plug this in there in one of the slots of that fan... I have the aio wires to the back of the case but it gives me only one slot on a fan because the aio pipes are in the way effectively stopping me from daisy chaining the exhaust to the aio fan.
Thank You for the Guide. I bought an iCue Link H150i for cheap on ebay but there will be no pwm cable (the thin cable @10:23 on your video) do i need it or can I control pwm without it? If I need it where can i buy One can't find anyone who sell this cable?
15:34 are you able to just plug the 3 front fans into the radiator, and then the the radiator into the controller? Or do they both need to connect to the controller?
It's a big step forward but we are not there yet. We need a joint effort to make the "connections" already at the case and a new plug in the motherboard that receive device ID, RGB, PWM and Tacometer and power out. At the case one single plug would plug at this new mobo plug where we control fan RPM/profile, RGB lights, pump, etc at a software level. System wide compatible with any fan/pump/etc using this new standard.
@ 16:51 for my evga psu, that cable is labeled VGA I don’t have any labeled pcie. Would this go where I power my gpu (vga) or where it’s labeled peripherals on the psu?
When I checked into buying a radiator with seven of these fans to change my system over it was $475 I went with the AF series that's including the radiator tax and everything was $320 bucks
I have the same PC case. I bought these fans. I connected it. Everything works fine. I'm just wondering how to make sure that the fans will spin harder under load.I have Aio from another manufacturer. I installed fans on the side wall as additional ones.
Thanks for the super thanks. If you have iCue installed that should have access to all the system temps. It should then automatically adjust fan speed accordingly but if not you can adjust the fan speed in the settings and choose various different mode including a performance once I believe for maximum cooling. But you shouldn't need to worry as it's quite intelligent
@@TheProvokedPrawn I only have one cable for the motherboard. USB 2.0. Can I connect it to the motherboard with USB 1.0? There was no "cpu fans" cable included in the set. Is that how it's supposed to be?
I will definitely be picking all this up. So much less headache...4 case fans, 3 aio fans with the commander core currently 💀😭 Edit: 2 commander cores. Ugh
Are there any issues adding an additional set of Link fans to a 7000xRGB case which includes the pre-installed Commander XT? I would imagine that the two would be independent? If that is so is there any potential software conflicts running the pre-installed case fans off the Commander XT and the additional link fans off there own hub? Thx in advance!
Just wanted to ask the guide was really good but I got stuck on connected my 6 psei into a power supply my pc doesn’t have any other than SATA connectors and my cpu power also a 8 psei adapter wanted to see if I could any help if not thank you amazing video
Is it possible to use a y splitter to connect the radiator and front fans to the controller? Im planning on buying a 240 aio along with 3 front fans for my build
i bought the h170i and im a first time builder everything went really well but im not sure where i should be plugging my tach cable into my cpu fan or into my pump fan? i have it plugged into cpu but should it be plugged into pump?
Just to be sure, daisy-chaining all the fans + the liquid cooler together won't overload the motherboard or power supply in any way? I plan to do the AIO, 2 140's on the side, 2 140's on the bottom, and 1 120 on the back.
@@TheProvokedPrawn First, thank you so much for the quick reply! This will be my first PC so I don't wanna goof it up. So if I ran, say, the AIO and 2 fans to one side of the controller and then the other 2 + 1 to the other side of the controller, should I be good?
Thanks for the video. In my case I am trying to use the device internal memory to save a custom temperature curve and it only detects the pump liquid temperature sensor, does anyone know how to detect the fans or the CPU sensor in device internal memory mode?.

Corsair improved on Lian Li ideas and came out with some nice solutions. But with some ugly rip offs, as well ! Anyway, this video is a helpful tutorial for future owners ! Nicely done !
Hey thank you very much for your video I just installed the radiator and fan system in a new pc I'm building flawlessly all based on your video it worked great 👍😃
Glad I could help
Just to let you know: I bought a iCUE Link QX120 RGB Expansion Kit (single Fan) and I had an extra cable in it. I just did a full 10 Fan 5000D Case build and I didn't needed any additional cable. (2x 3fan expansion kits, 1x 1fan expansion kit and 1x H150i RGB kit) - The only thing that worries me, is the motherboard cable behind the fan/radiador. They are mega tight.
Excellent editing and information. Thanks!
Glad you liked it!
Made a new build with the old wire style and ended up with like 30 cables in the back to manage. Now this comes up in my feed
Yeah. Microcenter prebuilt didnt have the rear fan. Almost didnt find a plug for that extra fan. These will come in handy next time around.
4:32 that’s fan dependent. I got the LX120 single fan and it came with a single short Link cable on top of the 2 connectors, so purchasing the cable kit was not necessary since I was planning to daisy chain the single fan to the AIO radiator. I still got the cable kit and wasted my money because this video told me otherwise, so don’t be like me and actually read what comes in the single box instead of trusting TH-cam videos unconditionally
This video was very helpful in setting up the link system, his statement here was just incorrect and fan dependent
That's because the video is old and they've changed it since but I have an updated guide.
@ that’s understandable👍
Super thanks! Since there wasn’t any instruction manual nor a video from Corsair this was perfect!
Glad it helped!
I just used this video to connect my system correctly. thanks again
Glad it helped
Dude I love your voice! You sound just like another channel I watch for Final Fantasy 14 news, Meoni lol.
Anyways, really helpful video that I will be coming back to in a few months once I get all the parts for my new PC build!
I've heard that a lot. Hopefully they hear they sound like me one day.
Thanks for this detailed description, it really help alot!
Glad it was helpful! Hope you enjoyed enough to subscribe 🦐
always informative thank you for your tutorials
So nice of you
Update For anyone watching this video since being released, single fans also include the wires in the box now, and the tripple 120 and double 140 kits come with multiple different wires both 90 and straight cables and also come with a hub 🙂
👍🏼👍🏼
So buying the single fan will automatically work with the link? dont need to buy a icue link cable anymore?
@@darkhound222 yes!
Thank you very much for this, built my new system with a ique link h100i aio but my fans weren't lighting up or spinning, I had the short hub cable going from hub to radiator not fans to radiator. I wondered why it was so short. Thanks to your video I was able to work out what I done wrong.
excellent video. Corsair was breaking my head
Glad it helped
Thanks for this video!!! I just wish I had seen it sooner since I need the hub to continue my build
Glad to help
Loved the vid - and well explained - you earned a sub and a like - I'll be checking out your vids from now on - loved it!
Glad to help.
Very thorough and very helpful, thank you!
You're very welcome!
Hi guys, I didn't remove the plastic on minute 9:18, it's a big deal? Pls this stupid thing is driving me crazy and i alreasy installed it so idk if it's worth to do it again. Ty ❤
It helps keep it attached to the motherboard but if it's not loose you should be fine
What a great guide - thanks so much!

Love the new way to connect and daisy chain. I really wished there was a backwards compatibility. Some sort of add on box or something. t
Did a refresh on my pc and a new case and picked up these fans over a week ago and they look really nice. Just waiting on corsair to send me more cables so i can hook up my other fans lol
How loud are they?
To me they only become noticeably louder at 1700 rpms and above. Other than that they're pretty quiet.
small update, in my qx12 rgb starting kit I got one short 90 90 degree cable, and one long straight 90 degrees cable. so they listened to the feedback :)
A missed opportunity if you ask me.
well put
I don’t get how u would cable one of your side/front fans separately they all want to connect already and there is nothing we can use to separate them from automatically connecting, do I have to just force apart because that looks ugly
16:56 Which adapter is this exactly? What is the name of the adapter type?
Do you know it know?
@6mrtz unfortunately not
I just purchased all of this, only need 6 black qx120 icue link fans next. I ended up buying 2 white qx120 icue link fans to test...I was wondering how the rear fan connects to the iCUE link hub..but after watching your video. Thank You.
I'm going to do my build in a Antec P20c case I hope all the fan connectors fit in that case
Another great video. Well done.
Thanks Phil
Hope they make a custom cable to power the controller directly from their PSU. Like I don't like using one of those cables that have a pair of 6+2, like the one shown in the video...
On the one hand: uber expensive.
On the other hand: its pretty cool ngl
When setting up my computer I saw to "USB c" connectors and I was like the small black box and the radiator have one, I guess u have an extra, thank you for the video as now my fans work lol
Glad it helped. Hope you enjoyed enough to subscribe 🦐
Thank you for the video, now everything makes sense :)
Thanks for watching. Glad to be helpful!
Step one: remortgage your house.
ha
That entire setup is like $500. Not that much.
@@Sapper29Hmm corsair should provide mag lev fans at least but it rips off more pathetically than apple
@@Sapper29depends what case you get
Im in shock, and we thoughed Noctua fans where crazy
So at 6.21 can you see the pipes blocking the slot for the exhaust fan..
Thank You for the Guide.
I bought an iCue Link H150i for cheap on ebay but there will be no pwm cable (the thin cable @10:23 on your video)
do i need it or can I control pwm without it?
If I need it where can i buy One can't find anyone who sell this cable?
15:34 are you able to just plug the 3 front fans into the radiator, and then the the radiator into the controller? Or do they both need to connect to the controller?
This review epic :D I try after few days myself :DX
Great presentation!
Thank you
I plan on building my pc sometime this year (getting parts peice by peice. This lighting just might be the play (eventhough it cost alot)
Great explanation. Thank you!
Thanks Jay. Hope you enjoyed enough to subscribe 🦐
Cracking video mate. Thanks.

@@TheProvokedPrawn yes I did. Lol
i love this little knife
Thanks
Thanks very much. Quite informative.
Thanks for watching
Liked and favorited for my future reference.
@ 16:51 for my evga psu, that cable is labeled VGA I don’t have any labeled pcie. Would this go where I power my gpu (vga) or where it’s labeled peripherals on the psu?
Same here vga, peripheral or sata what adapter is that I got a msi psu
When I checked into buying a radiator with seven of these fans to change my system over it was $475 I went with the AF series that's including the radiator tax and everything was $320 bucks
subbed for the micro knife!
That's a Wish special 😂
I would like to ask for advice
There is three iCUE link cables that come with the iCUE link h150i RGB.
X2 icue link cable 90° 200mm
X1 icue link cable 90° 600mm. 😊
Great video, I’m a bit confused on one thing though, what is the usb c cable on the radiator for?
You need that if you use the LCD screen upgade
I will definitely be picking all this up. So much less headache...4 case fans, 3 aio fans with the commander core currently 💀😭
Edit: 2 commander cores.
I also have the 7000x with the preinstalled fans and there aren't any software conflicts whatsoever
Just wanted to ask the guide was really good but I got stuck on connected my 6 psei into a power supply my pc doesn’t have any other than SATA connectors and my cpu power also a 8 psei adapter wanted to see if I could any help if not thank you amazing video
Hi these fans look amazing question I'm gonna mount 3 side fans to how would I link them also?
It's all powered through the controller but you can only have 7 things per port. So you couldn't do all that on one connection
