Hey guys, AMAZING video!!! i was only a few days behind you, doing my 1st crossing, solo, on a 2010 DRZ400. I felt every bit of what you were going thru. Its incredible how much energy you use every time you have to pick up your bike. I got bogged twice literally 1 metre from the top, both times it took an hour to get out, the sand is like nothing i have ever experienced before, there is no firm base deeper down just endless, talc like, soft sand. There is something truly special about putting yourself thru that kind of test, feeling like you have nothing left to give, absolutely exhausted, dehydrated and fatigued like you've never felt before, knowing that nobody is going to do it for you, you just have to dig a little deeper to get it done. And if you haven't done it, you just don't know how empowering it can be. I cant wait to go back Truly an awesome effort, Well Done!
Thanks heaps, Stewart! You're a madman doing that solo in those conditions but kudos for getting it done and 100% agree about it being special. I also can't wait to get back!
@@AusMoto HAHAHA! So many people I met said I must be crazy, Im just an average guy (and a very average sand rider i found out) who wanted something bad enough to make it happen, and Im so glad I did!
Certainly a true Motorcycle Adventure. Well done to you both. The trials and tribulations you will remember forever as brothers. A great watch, thanks for sharing. Poem at the end? Brilliant, absolutely brilliant! 👏👏👏
First vid I ever seen from you - loved it! It’s refreshing to see an honest take on a Simpson Crossing - no ego, just having a crack and sharing your honest thoughts.
Thanks heaps mate, glad you enjoyed it! If you liked this one, you’ll really like the first big adventure my brother and I went on which was our Googs Tracks adventure. That one’s on the channel if you want to give it a watch 👍
Absolutely brilliant adventure and video, well done and what a sense of achievement especially alongside your bro! memories & giggles to share with each other for years to come.
Well done josh and fabian Great video that will be one to remember for the rest of your life. The simpson crossing is not an easy ride especially unsupported and a first timer as i also found out. You guys did a great job!! 👍
Well done guys, great video and editing. You have reignited my desire to make the crossing myself. You are the experts at tyre changes now. can't wait to see your next adventure.
Congratulations on the crossing. I've been rewatching RidingWithTom's old crossings and this came up, which was cool because I'm thinking of getting a CRF 300. Great video!
Thanks Pedro! The 300 would make a great bike. I think this video demonstrated that, given how well the 250L performed in this adventure and the 300 has some nice upgrades on it, so I think you'll really like it!
Great effort guys I could feel the tiredness and exhaustion just watching you, but what an amazing adventure. It's the tough rides you always remember. 😊
Well done to the both of you; The small bikes are doing it, it's good to be prepared and you have done quite well to deal with the issues then they happened. Next trip plan for a lay day, don't make the time frame so tight, you need a Lay Day to rest up push to hard and things fuck up. Thanks for sharing this adventure; David....Adelaide....Triumph Scrambler 1200X and 900..... Any time in Adelaide let me know you can stay over....
great story and edit mate well done, shes a tough old crossing when its as dry as it was then, was like that when I did it last year, went again this year and was night and day difference. Was so easy after rain.
This reminds me of what my brother and I went through going down the Baja in 1970 no paved roads very few gas stations we got a lot of bad gas from jugs and barrels one thing I learned was never stop at the bottom of a sand dune momentum is your friend we carried enough water but not near enough gas good video. If your tube is getting pinched your tire pressure is too low
What a great Adventure 🤩 next you guys are coming up this way stay a couple days and I will show some awesome country 🤩🏍️💨💨 and I’m always happy to help 🙏🏻
Absolutely awesome boy very well done I could only dream of achieving that. Easy for me to say sitting here on my couch lol. I would have gone up little red took all the luggage off the bike and re - tried big red. Again can only imagine how tired you must have been Again massive well done boys
Thanks heaps, Dean! That was definitely something we were considering however at that point we were spent and thought why risk something going wrong when the end was just there, so decided not to but gives us a reason to go back!
Every meaning of the word adventure, and nightmare ha ha. And I raise the point again, why is the majority of bike gear black. Boots, armour and helmets would have been heating you up more than lighter coloured gear. I don’t think there’s such a thing as taking too much water, if you had to stay an extra day because of an overheated bike etc it would have been used. Thanks for taking us on the trip, well worth the wait
Thanks mate and I reckon you’re right, not sure why the manufacturers make most gear black! And yep, you’re right, we’d be grateful for that extra water if we were stuck out there any longer and that’s why we brought more than we needed. Glad you enjoyed it!
Great effort lads, you guys are young and fit, there are a lot of older dudes doing these adventures on bigger bikes that would really struggle in the heat and rough tracks. Why use jerry cans instead of fuel bladders? As other said, black gear really absorbs the heat, buy quality gear.
Thanks mate, can’t imagine doing it on big bikes in that heat! Could pack jerries in the panniers and keep the weight lower as opposed to having bladders which need to be tied down higher up (we used them on our Googs trip and didn’t like the weight up high) Yeah, it seems like most gear comes in black for some reason, especially armour haha
Your whole tyre pressure game is off boys. I run 8 psi with a Mitas. They have harder side walls and I'm not running weight. Would be higher but still pretty low if I had bags. I never get flats either. You should have split an old tube and lined the inside with the whole tyre and then put the good tube inside that......sounds like those bikes didn;t have enough poke either. Were they 250's or something?
Gotta think about pressures differently when you got an extra 40+ kg in the rear but yeah, probably could have gone lower but after the issues we already ran into, didn’t want to risk running too low and having issues in the desert. Yeah, both 250s and extra power would certainly have been nice haha!
i might be against the grain here but why the fuck would anyone want to do that? its bad enough working in remote places let alone a "holiday" there. like its literally just hell with the heat, fly's and isolation. its actually amazing anyone lives out there
Hope you enjoy watching this one, certainly an adventure to remember forever!
Give it a like and share it around if you enjoyed 👍
This is the best Simpson crossing video out - it's not an adventure if everything goes to plan!!
Really appreciate the comment mate and 100%!

Yeah, we upped the pressure after the first pinch haha
Great video. Thanks for sharing. Might have to invest in a trail stand for those times when the wheels need to be removed.
Thanks Chris and 100%, not doing a remote adventure without one going forward!
Awesome trip! Watched the whole video and felt your joy and pain. Wish I could do something similar one day.
Thanks mate!
No reason you can’t 🤙🤙
Sunset in the outback is magical.
They certainly are, nothing like looking out to the horizon in the outback as the sun is setting!
