One of my favorite movies of all time especially the ending when he has to walk almost brought me to tears man call brashears simply a hero that will never be recognized hell what black man in the United States will be truly recognized as a hero on the upstage of white person its white man land not a black man
During the recap of this movie, the lines Robert De Niro's character said during the hearing to Brashear request to return to active duty: "The Navy Diver is not a fighting man, he is a salvage expert. If it is lost underwater, he finds it. If it's sunk, he brings it up. If it's in the way, he moves it." That says alot for this kind of movie, one of the few that truly says 'don't ever quit'.
I can attest that this is one of the greatest movies ever made. I urge those who haven't, to watch it. Never has there been a role that DeNiro played that you will both completely despise to then absolutely respect.
I was in my mid teen when I watched with my family and friends, we all shaded our tears in silence and cheered when he made the impossible possible steps. Both Jr Cuba and Deniro acted superbly.
this was and amazing man, met him during my tour as an instructor at Great Lakes Naval Training center, he used to attend the bootcamp graduations. one of the greatest honors of my career.
This movie is truly inspirational and one of my favorite movie of all time. Carl Brashear was not only brave, he was a true patriot and a great man. May he Rest In Peace. His legacy will live on forever.
It made me cry of emotion, how someone of color has to be treated to achieve their dreams not that anyone should be treated that way, but the ferociously determination and focus he has is so much more inspiring. ❤️🔥much love.
I watched this movie several years ago, it was a wonderful movie then and it still is. I won't go into comparing this to that and such things, but I will say since it was based on a true person and true events, it was simply a wonderful story of conflict and determination. I would recommend this to anyone who likes to be inspired to be better than what they already are.
Aww, I just got sad the whole time watching this even if he already reached his dream. I just can't stop crying. It's just so heartbreaking and life is just so unfair. Nobody deserved to be treated like that just because of their race or color or if they have disability. Actually, you can't call him disabled because he still can do all the usual thing he does before even if his legs got amputated. He is such an inspiration🙏🏻
Wow! This is totally motivating and a reminded to institutions that still practice such dark culture. Irrespective of who they are either color, race or whatever, everyone deserve a chance to prove their competency and resilience towards a tasks. Because a win for him is a win for all.
I found this film so sad yet so inspirational. The human race has got a real nasty streak which no other species has., and that is hatred & bigotry to its own kind. Cuba Gooding is such an underrated actor.

Rocky: It about how hard you hit. It's about hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how wining is done! I think this quote sums up Carl Brashear perfectly.

There are millions of kind and loving white folks out there. They will help you climb so don’t bother about the haters.
I AGREE. MAY THE GOOD LORD BLESS THEM ALWAYS...
😕Today’s Africans are so ungrateful of what their fathers and their fathers struggled to have the comfort what they are misusing today, very very sad and heartbreaking 😕
Really
Love that movie. As an army soldier; I still feel to say, Hoorah!!
If There is one thing i learned from this movie is this; Self determination combined with motivational inspiration from a mentor gives an incredible victory which defies all odds
Shame our men had to work so hard just to show these people our humanity that was given to us by God.
I am in awe at this story.
I love the intelligible "English" in the title of this video, lol
I watched this movie and read about Carl brashest when I was 17 years old..And I also watched the roots all 6 of them..for me it was a must coz I had to learn my people history.and I recommend anyone to watch and read about these heroes.. they were unbelievable humans
Still strange to look at a person and hate them with our knowing their character
"OK...your hearing will be granted on one condition...when he fails, you retire."
"He ain't gonna fail."
I am 65 year white man,and to this day I can never see why, white, black what ever color you are God made all,and we all all human no one is better then the other…ln Jesus name
You are divine but those sick ones see colour. That makes two of us brother. When we see one another, because of love we must see God first.
This is the only channel I'm gonna watch from now on. You're the only one to include sound from the movie into the video.
Thanks
As a BlackMan anywhere especially in the US, you don’t need to do anything extra to prove to someone that you are a human. You are already a perfect human created with the image of the Most High.
Perfection won’t get you anywhere. Always put 110%
Rocky: It about how hard you hit. It's about hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how wining is done!
I think this quote sums up Carl Brashear perfectly.
15:20 never salute with your left hand…
The video was flipped to avoid TH-cam strike.
Cried as a teenager when I first saw it back in early 2000s. Got teary again seeing it now. First time I never experienced racism cus I hadn't left my home country then. Years later, I can understand how it feels more. Guess I can't watch the full movie again to avoid saying mean things to any white person that looks at me in any kind of way where I live now.
I have thought about quitting my current job cus I don't feel comfortable here. When your presence makes some of your colleagues feel unease, it affects you to an extent. Being constantly judged in the worst thing one can go through.
I know black people are so racist
Go be with your peeps man
I love love my black people ❤️
❤
Sometimes...
Sometimes.
@@nicoleraheem1195 ? :/
@@mal1k0 😂 you must be naive or ignorant to just say that you love all of your black people like everybody is completely innocent and pure.
You probably love the black people who celebrate Black Culture, but you can't possibly love every black person.
I'm considering the fact that every black person, in a lot of black people's lives did not leave a good impression。
@@nicoleraheem1195 Do Wh.te people leave good impressions on other races? Because very few do
Every time I felt like giving up, I always go and watch this film ( Men of Honour) and instantly my spirit will come back alive .
