Funny story...we went to Melbourne a couple of years ago and day 1 we found a cafe that stock Lune crossiants. We had heard about them and we're raving as we ate them. We made an absolute mess with them at our outdoor table and the lady sitting next to us had a dog who was eating the crumbs that we dropped. We made small talk and she mentioned that her dogs loves them because she works at Lune. Later on we google and realise it was actually Kate Reid at the table next to us - the lady who started Lune.
Melbourne is my favourite place to go while in Aussie. Really wanna head back there soon, have not been in a few years. 100% agree with the best coffee and food thing. So good!
Daneger & Stacey I live in Melbourne and can I tell you both how proud I am to live this great city. You both have done an amazing filmography which makes us feel so proud to live. Thank you and please come back again. Your very most welcomed.🤩😍
I so love your city, so easy to travel around….great choices of eateries….clean, safe, lots of cultures….and AFL……I live on the island of Jersey….soon to have our third trip to Melbourne and then Tassie…many more to follow….just the best city in the best state in the best country in the world, in my unbiased opinion…
Completely agree ❤ Being from Sydney , I feel melbourne offers all sorts of fun in terms of cbd , food and restaurants and transportation. Sydney is kind of feels like sleepy tbh 😂
I absolutely adored Melbourne! 💖 I'm feeling so nostalgic about my trip there. I'm eagerly looking forward to planning another adventure in Melbourne soon! 🌇
Hey Dane & Stacey, Gretchen & Paul here (you responded to my email last week). Hubby is a dual Aus-US citizen. We are jumping on Qantas is approx. 48 hours to fly from San Fran to SYD. We'll spend a week in Tassie & road trip the Sapphire Coast and VIC Surf Coast. Re-watching your vids to find Lune and the great spots you highlighted in Tassie. Thanks for the info!!!! Love your videos! Travel safely, continue having fun & sharing great content with us!
Lol! They're definitely different from each other. Kiwis pronounce their vowels differently from us Aussies. They lengthen the vowels that we shorten, and vice versa. This makes for a lot of hilarity over words like six and sex 😂
@@FionaEm Yeah I can detect a slight difference but the difference between an American Southern accent vs a New York accent vs a Midwest accent is massive. Way more than the difference between a Kiwi and Aussie accent. That's why I found his imitation to be funny, because he was barely changing anything from his normal accent.
Us kiwis are lazy with our vowels, we don't enunciate them properly. Aussies, they over enunciate them. For me, both are hard to listen to, but not as hard as the South African/Zimbabwean/Namibian accent.
@@voongnz I sometimes get the South African accent mixed up with Aussie if they say only a few words. Also, I've had Aussie friends who lived in NYC and I would actually stop noticing their accent at all after a few weeks. Even though the accent, slang and sayings are very different, the overall cultural wavelength is similar. Much more similar than America and Germany, Italy or France for example - even if they spoke English the mentality is much different and they always felt like foreigners to me. But less so Australians or Canadians as their cultures are fairly similar to America with the new world vibe.
Happy to say I’m lucky enough to live just a 10 minute walk away from the South Melbourne markets and it is fabulous. One of my favourite things about Melbourne is how walkable the CBD unlike Sydney which I’ve also lived in for a few years Melbourne’s CBD is contained within a rectangular block.
I absolutely love our Melbourne city and surrounding areas. Love that this time you visited my all time favourite market. South Melbourne market. Awesome review of Melbourne. Loved it!

You mention Collingwood but do you go like a block over into Fitzroy and walk down Brunswick street or three blocks from there in to Carlton. 😊 Carlton the Italian precinct. Richmond the Vietnamese precinct and a small area in the city the Greek precinct. If your back in Melbourne you could head to the Dandenongs, The Yarra Valley or The Mornington Peninsula. Hate to be pedantic. But fun fact. Yarra is an aboriginal word for river. So it’s name is simply The Yarra. As in The River. To call it the Yarra River, you would essentially be calling it the River River.
