It's a unique function of Soviet vehicles in WoT, that the larger the aiming reticle, the more Accuracy you can fit into it.
I'm sure Circon once theorized the most efficient sniper in the Red Army was a Light Tank Commander with 50% training drafted into a KV-2 with no other crew remaining, manning a broken 152mm howitzer in a rotating turret, traveling at full speed.
You've got make sure you get those ammo racks somehow.

Ah, the old Endor Break maneuver. Did not expect a KV to ever execute it.
I remember a game in my ISU-122S where I was being chased by a Cromwell downhill and pulled the same maneuver; didn't kill him, but tracked him which allowed me to swing around and out-dpm him to death. I too sacrificed enough dissidents that day lol.
@@lawnmowerman6819 I learned, not even twenty minutes ago, that the Cromwell will track itself just going hard over a sand dune on the oasis map in blitz.... So I guess I am unchecked by this story lol.

Actually, Jingles... don't worry, I'm getting ready to go to the salt mines already, but the KV tank that held up the German advance for a day during the Battle of Raseiniai was probably a KV-1. Accounts vary, but research into Russian records suggests the most likely tank was a KV-1 from the nearby Soviet 4th Tank Regiment that had become immobilised.

3:34 I believe Nicholas Moran has said that the Germans knew full-well the 88mm was good for AT work even before the Battle of France. I mean, why would they have AP ammo ready for that KV-2 if they didn't think it would be useful?
They discovered the 88mm's anti-tank prowess in the Spanish Civil War. They even put it on an armored halftrack in 1938. See the 8.8 cm Flak 18 (Sfl.) auf schwere Zugkraftwagen 12t (Sd.Kfz 8),

As soon as I saw the KV2 going downhill, I knew what was going to happen. The E25 player did not disappoint.
The amount of "shield not penetrated" on Hellcats says that KV-2 HE is utterly killed off.

Yeah, between the KV-2 failing to hurt artillery somehow, and the shitbarn bouncing rounds off garbage tier tank destroyer armour sideshirts (Like the Jagdpanther and dickers), the nerfs got bad.
Blah, ive had so much damage blocked by hellcats. I'm always struck dumn by 8t and just drink another gulp of my vodka that makes WoT more fun.
Id say in this regard warthunder in the better game.

On this same map, our scout being chased by an ELC down in the valley. Only thing missing was the Benny Hill theme music. Without stopping my KV-2, way out of render range, let a shot go with a stupid amount of lead... and it destroyed the ELC. Someday, when I'm much older and senile, I'll be retelling this like it was real life. "Okay Grandpa, Whatever you say, now take your pills."
Awesome video as always, just couldn't help but notice the fit the panther took after overextending around the corner and dying. I hope they stayed in the game long enough to see how well their comment "kv2s lost the game" aged at 7:32
When Jingles says about the cold hand of stalin breaking the surface to guide the shot, I can just imagine his hand popping up like a buried zombie hand coming up to the surface.

a bit of a late reply, but the other kv2 really didn't do much, skyguy was really the only kv2 that really put in effective fire. the other kv2 only done 354 damage in the entire game.
If you look, Skyguy Brake Checked the E25 and I'm all for how well played that was.
The KV-2, like the TOG, always delivers.
Haven't played WoT since 2018. The two vehicles I miss the most are the KV-2 and the SU-152. Just vaporizing an enemy that had full health was such a glorious feeling. Thank you for the video and the trip down memory lane, Jingles! 🙂
The 8.8cm Flak 18 was first used against ground targets in the Spanish Civil War and later the Flak 36 was used against British Matilda I's in 1940 at Arras.

The 75mm gun used in 1941 was a low-velocity 75mm. It had worse penetration than the 75mm on the Sherman and could penetrate 43mm of armor at 30 degree slope at 750M. They were later upgraded to a better, higher-velocity gun..
That E-25 ram was priceless! I was literally laughing uncontrollably!

Jingles, Wehrmacht did know about the deficiencies of the tank's own guns - so they did ensure that the 88 mm kanone would have AP ammunition too !
And that was their doctrine in 1940 in France, the 88 mm was intended for all targets air or ground or sea.
Actually Jingles, one of the biggest modifications to the KV series tanks did NOT involve adding more armor. In fact, it was the opposite, the KV-1S (it's in the game) had reduced side armor to save weight.

Hey Jingles, great video as always. Re: the famous 88. It was actually their experience in the Spanish Civil War that convinced the Germans it would be an effective anti-tank weapon. Hugh Thomas wrote an excellent general history of it and among other, more famous examples of the genre, a young British volunteer for the *Nationalists*, Peter Kemp, wrote a very good memoir called "Mine Were of Trouble" on his experiences.

I fail tooned my KV2 into a teir 9 game my first game in it, one spotted a doom turtle. Did 80% damage with my shot and then he burned to death. Way back when this game was still fun to play.
I like to think that the KV-2 story was a real life example of a lemming train, with the German tanks finding a single KV-2 and looking at each other going "no, you go first" XD
Playing this and the KV-1 waaaaaaay back when was the first time I felt invincible in WoT.

KV-2 and M-44 Winplatooning into tier X was one of my favorite pastimes. I three marked my M-44 that way.
Sherman derping was every bit as fun as KV-2 derping. I really miss it.
I remember unlocking the 105 on my Sherman just before the HE patch was released. Think I had all of two games of glorious Sherman derp before it got ruined.
I'm still not sure if I'm saltier over that or them making the T18 into arty. That was another hilarious derp machine back in the day, made even better by the accusations of sealclubbing when I'd only recently unlocked it.

I had a hilarious moment on Redshire in the KV-2 a couple of weeks ago. We had just won the airship and was pushing through and a tank in the middle was spotted, I fired on the move at full speed while also turning the turred from D0 to D3/D4 at well over 400 meters while that tank was pulling back behind the hill, hit and one shotted him. I took a few more shots at range but without moving and hit every single in the battle and ended up with a tank sniper medal and a high caliber.
Unfortunately for every one of those games you'll have dozens of games where you can't even hit the inside of the barn.
Sitting here screaming 'Stop, STOP, STOP!!!' as he was rolling down the hill with the E-25 behind him...

For the benefit of those who haven't seen the glorious TOG on this channel before we should perhaps point out this is in reference to a certain food-based skin for the Royal Navy's finest tank and not, for example, any sort of adult entertainment related insta-demonetisation video.
Not that TOG is against adult entertainment, TOG is a party tank. Everyone likes being near TOG, even enemy shells like being near TOG.
Jingles would upload TOG more often, but the videos were too long.

3:34 The germans learned about the Flak 88 being good against tanks quite some time before Barbarossa. It was against _french_ tanks during the Bltzkrieg phase of the war that they tested it out in earnest, but they'd been planning for it since the start of the weapon's development, just after WW1. It was always intended to be a dual-purpose gun, evidenced by the fact that AP rounds for it were available and issued to units (you don't fire AP at aircraft...well, unless you're playing War Thunder but even there it's a bad idea :P). In the spanish civil war the 88 got a lot of use against ground targets, but since the republican forces didn't have much in the way of tanks it was mostly against infantry (with HE rounds) or bunkers (where the AP round turned out to be highly effective).
They just didn't have enough of them to mass deploy them in the AT role and still keep up AA cover during Barbarossa, which led to situations like the unkillable KV-2.

I still have the 105 on my M4. 2 Marks, 2006 battles, hundreds of Fire for Effects and Bruisers, one Lucky and my only Kolobanov's and Nichol's and numerous other medals. Though looking at my KV-2, I somehow got a Raider medal in it; no idea how.

One of the most hilarious games I've had was using AP in the KV-2. One shotting tanks everywhere, blind fire kills.
Our Clan had a very good player (SilverSlicer). Back in the day when you could Platoon 2 tiers off we had 2 Tier 8's and his KV2 Tier 6 Platooned, and got thrown into a tier 10 battle. After all the team groaning and waling I told them "We call him MAUS KILLER". Yeah Yeah, Fail Platoon, more comments. And who walked away with 5 kills (including an awesome 400+ meter shot) and 8k damage..... SIlver.
I think my favourite part was the dead hand of Stalin guiding our Hero's shots
That E25 driver is now sending a sternly worded letter to Wargaming, complaining that the KV-2's shell didn't ricochet back at Skyguy and kill him instead.
Christ that's a scary thought... a KV-2 ricochet. Nothing quite like receiving 40+ kg's of exploding iron addressed to someone else.
Acutally Jingles the engine in the KV-2 is fairly powerful. It used an V-12 engine just like contempary tanks from other nations (except for America which used radial aircraft engines and the six cylinder engines found on Japanese and French tanks but they were worse than the KV-2 for a reason). Even the IS tanks kept using versions of the V-2 engine found on the KV tanks and the T-34s.
i miss the old game when kv2 was far more entertaining and the sacrificing of disidents was a must
