    You hit the nail on the head saying BYD you can see them making a statement of intent offering a good deal of standard equipment on the cars at a considerable less cost than some of its rivals ..will ruffle some feathers me thinks 🤔 great review planet auto 🚘 ❤

      Thank you David, like MG they can afford to spec cars at a good level and provide decent range etc for a price many manufacturers can’t get close too.

    Taking delivery of the comfort long range dolphin in october, had 3 yrs company car lease mini cooper e with no bother other than eating front tyres from regen or e braking everywhere 😀, on the mini it's really strong and you really don't need to press the brake pedal in normal conditions....you dont mention anything about the e braking or regen force.... how is it on the dolphin ?

      It’s a far more relaxed affair, lighter and more natural rather than 1 pedal which I too like, thank you Gazza

    • @PlanetautoUK
      @PlanetautoUK  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I like both and with the latest MG models it’s a tough call, regen is a noticeable difference in BYD more natural rather than heavier and they’re both finished well, have you driven either yet and if not do you plan to?

    • @PlanetautoUK

      Ps new video coming on Dolphin Active & Boost less range and lower price but decent power depending on which you choose.

      We have the early ZS and been brilliant. The new one on the way and talk of an Mg4 platform suv. Also a solid state battery from MG. So it’s a pivotal point. Was impressed with Dolphins tech and build didn’t get chance to test drive as time constraint. Just get feeling MG will catch up and been happy with service,car. Time will tell. 👍

  • @stephenparker5272

    The citroen c3e at just over £20,000 will see the price of these drop quickly, they sell for £10,000 less in their home market. MG and BYD will have to respond, so imo don't buy yet wait six months or so. LPT batteries and a heat pump is a good spec, the MG4 has no heat pump.I think a 230m real range on motorways is the sweet spot, as three hours is enough without a stop.

    • @PlanetautoUK
      @PlanetautoUK  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ah yes, strangely MG4 has a heat pump depending on the market, not here though where we need it. This is impressively spec’d as standard, and we’d agree with 3 hours. Watch this space, thank you Stephen.

    • @billienomates7100
      @billienomates7100 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I wasn't aware that the MG4 lacked a heatpump. Makes their pricing quite bad if thats the case for the Trophy and Xpower models as well. @@PlanetautoUK

    • @PlanetautoUK
      @PlanetautoUK  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s strange it’s only in certain markets, you’d expect it to be an option if not.

    • @pj310101
      @pj310101 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Here in Belgium the higher trim levels do have a heat pump. In the market for a small electric vehicle, and after comparing MG4 and Dolphin (and driven them both) I am reclining versus the BYD for a lot of reasons, but primarily the LFP battery (you can charge to 100% which you shouldn't with an NMC battery)@@PlanetautoUK

    • @PlanetautoUK
      @PlanetautoUK  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @pj310101 in virtually everywhere but the UK MG4 has the heat pump, charging to 100% is really the problems is R/C to 100 that’s questioned. The Dolphin is a fine EV, enjoy.
