I've ordered one. The interior is now black only. There's a lot more room in the back than in my current VW Golf.

It's not a fledgling brand. It's the worlds number 1 producer of EV's.

Thanks for a Comprehensive and succinct review. A few onscreen graphics for the specification and price of trims in the range would be really useful. People can screen shot for quick reference and reinforces the commentary.
As with all EVs with a slow DC charging speed I can’t help but envisage the frustration when these cars are used for road trips. Range on a full charge doesn’t need to be excessive indeed they are more affordable because they have smaller batteries one of the more expensive components of the car. And typically 2 -3 hours driving before an advised or required comfort break can be achieved. But at only 88kW DC peak - slower in the cold and dropping off as State of charge increases in reality means a miserably long road trip recharging session.
I would find it hard to recommend an EV which can’t charge at peak 150kW minimum and has a good charge curve with it.
Especially with children slower speeds unduly lengthen a journey and lead to frustration.
Of course they’ll be use cases where it is not an issue but a consideration which should consciously be made by any deliberating about having this vehicle and other EVs of similarly low peak DC charging capability.

A very comprehensive review as usual.
Please can you check that at 23 minutes in "Cost of Ownership" you say that the warranty is 4 years or 70k miles.
The BYD UK website says the warranty is 6 years or 150,000 kms.

Did you have to use the expression ‘poverty model’? I stopped watching when I heard that incredibly patronising and unnecessary comment.

Wow, some one, somewhere, at any given time, will be struggling to afford or gain access to food. That's an example of a genuine problem!
The term "poverty model" in any context, not so much a problem...........period! But if you must insist on being emotionally fragile, then I suppose you are always going to be offended at every turn, as if you have been wronged somehow.

With cars like these, why are media websites bombarding us with garbage news that nobody wants EVs?
Emphasis on "cars" not ridiculous profit gouging crossovers and SUVs

I have so called Dolphin poverty model car in Thailand and it’s a amazing car with all black interior with metallic grey exterior and actually looks very smart and sporty to drive. It has the 44.9kwh battery and 0-60mph in sport mode is 9 seconds so amply adequate for me. Best of all the poverty model here in Thailand cost £12500 so less Half the price of same poverty model in the UK
Oh l had an Electric rear tailgate fitted to the car supplied and fitted by BYD for just £300 so the car spec basically does not have glass roof, wireless charging, Electric seats and multi link rear suspension but more or less everything is same as top spec and also the car has Encap 5* safety rating.
So this so called poverty car is the best ever car that l ever had

The hype of these vehicles is truly terrifying, and what's even more worse is seeing the chinese types on british roads.
